Such a busy day at work with two Drs off sick nightmare. Didn't get lunch until 3pm.

Bought a couple of bits from eBay for dd's dress up day I decided she can go as a tennis player. Lsd about £4.

Oh and curry for dinner. Having something like that stops me craving a take away. I came home from work with 5 pens in my pocket WIN!

I do the opposite wreck, I buy pens to take to work (fussy )! I buy Tippex mice too (because work won't).

Been not to bad spend wise, have not touched my current account since last month, but the money dp gave me has gone , but I do have a full chest freezer.

My baby dd3 was 8 yesterday, so busy with a frugal homemade pizza and cake party for 9. Will post pic of cake, as it was one of my better ones! Thats 16 flakes on it's back.

Will spend tomorrow, we have decided to try ds at swimming (even a bath was exhausting until about 6 months ago, he simply hates the feeling of water), as there is the chance of a (free) day out at center parcs soon. Problem being me and dd1 don't have cossies...she is just 13 and takes an e cup, so will have to have a proper swimsuit instead of a pretty teen thing. I am 3 stone heavier than the last time I wore one. But if we can all have some fun with it then that would be great.

Took the dogs out on dp's bike this morning, 6 miles, and the stupid bike has thrown my hip out, apparently the pedals are much wider apart than my normal bike, who knew.

Em gosh that's exciting. Sounds like a great idea to go and see it! Even if you decide not to go for this one, having a nose round different properties will be great to give you more comparisons etc when you are ready to move.

Had a nice but tiring afternoon. DD has her dance shoes thanks to my parents. Nice lunch too so feeling rather spoiled and I seem to have reacted to yesterday's good news by spending all the money... and yes it did involve chocolate (and lychees so that's ok right?)

I went to Gothenburg when I was younger. My parents used to do doll fairs (they made incredible costume dolls) and that was one of them.

Home ed friend is setting up a Spanish club. Should work out pretty cheap per family so hopefully will be able to fit it in.

Dh & I had a big chat last night about the funding of the loft conversion and I think we've got a plan. It involves adding borrowing to our mortgage. That would normally scare me but we've been over paying by more than the extra payments will be so its definitely affordable, even if there's a rate hike and it won't lengthen our mortgage term. Without boring you with all the detail, it will make this our "forever" home, so it is really exciting.

Still need to meal plan for the coming week.......

I had a choice between Frugaleering and Minimalism over pens this week. DS keeps losing his pens for school, so I had to choose between a pack of 8 for £1, or 16 for £1.19. The Minimalist in me balked at it, but Frugaleering won out.

Right so this month I've been frugaleering as its the end of the financial year and a year since we moved house - so a few bills can be amended.
Here is what I've achieved so far!

£212 tax rebate
£60 broadband cash back
£100 PPI claimed
= £372 lump sum

£10 a month saved on broadband
£20 a month saved on council tax
£11 saved per month as we paid something off early
£7 saved per month as we paid another thing off early
£24 a month saved with Scottish Power
= £72 per month saving

We've done the tax rebate this year, £212, yaay, really happy with that!
Actually, Collie, a sum up of the savings thanks to the Mighty Martin Lewis:

Did the collective switch, £34 less a month, that's £408 savings a year. That's without the £30 cash back still due, so £438 in total.
Did the tax rebate: £212
Did the car insurance through MSE, I saved a whopping £180 a year.
Did the BT deal, £9.99 a month down from £19, that saved me £120.
Opened the recommended bank accounts and got £25 cash back.
So, since January, MSE has saved me £972. That's very very good going there!
Oh, and I also opened a save to buy ISA on his recommendation. I have put in £1600 so far. If I am to close it now, it would be worth £2000. That's £400 earned in 3 and a half months without lifting a finger, just being on the ball and listening to the man.

£30 on food today .. £11.65 of which was on a mega chicken from the farmers market!! but its huge and free range local.. it will be worth it.. I have 7 people to feed tomorrow lunch time, and so a big roast chicken meal is in order ..ill also be defrosting the rest of the pigs in blankets left over from christmas and making stuffing.. this will be with salads , and DHs h/m foccacia.... I might do an apple pie also ..

It will be chicken soup from the carcass for me all next week
