Thought I'd start a shiny new thread as we've filled the other one so quickly.

Definitely not NSD here!

Can't actually remember what I spent but it involved lots of junk food I can tell you that for sure Blush

Pointlessfan · 09/09/2015 19:49

I managed an NSD too but that's only because I forgot Greggs had moved and couldn't be arsed to walk there from where I'd parked! I wanted caked to eat during the GBBO. Never mind, plenty of birthday chocolates left!

JemimaMuddledUp · 09/09/2015 19:54

Spends today:

5.64 on Lemsip, Strepsils (well, Superdrug own brand ones) and tissues. Feeling bleugh. The DC have gone back to school, picked up lurgy and then shared it with me.

1.99 on a magazine to cheer myself up after a day sniffling and sneezing in work.

9.00 on DS1's piano lesson.

5.00 on DS2's locker for school. If he doesn't lose the key during the next 7 years he gets the money back...

Am going to have an early night with my magazine. Boys' packed lunches are ready, I made sausage gnocchi for dinner and used some of the sausages and tomatoey sauce to make sausage pasta for them for tomorrow. I don't need a packed lunch tomorrow as I have taken the afternoon off with Flexi and so can eat at home.

SpottyTeacakes · 09/09/2015 20:14

Hope you feel better jemima!

Nsd. Dd has come home with a list of available school clubs. She wants to do judo and choir so that's ??55 for the term. She also needs ??4.75 for a workshop they're doing on Monday. Our joint account is on ??0.00 and my own account has about ??15 in it. ??20 in my purse. Not sure where it's all going wrong Grin dh gets paid in 11 days though so it's all ok....

Fluffycloudland77 · 09/09/2015 20:14

Ipsos I think you should buy it, it's not cheap but you're an analytical sort so it will help long term energy reduction.

Which will help when we all have smart meters and they can shut down high users remotely.

??1.40 on bread rolls and a choccy bar for dh.

ipsos · 09/09/2015 20:19

LOL! Fluffy you're right. I do analyse everything. I didn't know it was that obvious. I might have a go at that then.

dh's slow cooked lamb was well received today. ds wouldn't touch it. I think he spotted that it looked like whiskas. Nice to have made something good for dh though, given that all the effort usually goes into feeding ds.

ipsos · 09/09/2015 20:43

I have now been paid for the squidley little bit of work that I did on the UpWork website. The fee was $10. They kept $1 commission and there is a further $2 commission for the payment of the money to my bank account, so I made a princely $7. Woohoo!

It seems that I can also defer payment until they owe me $100 or more and then still only pay $2 commission on the transfer, but I think that might take a long time at my current work rate. Smile

NK5BM3 · 09/09/2015 20:56

Nsd! Colleague paid for lunch on account of her promotion.

Travelled quite a few miles today for meeting, will claim back.

audit thanks for that re the tax rebate. But I'm PAYE so not really sure how there was such a large rebate. I did get my promotion in May or June, so there was s bigger pay, but this is for the tax year ending April isn't it? I did do a few other external jobs (average pay was ??100) so I can't imagine tax being more than ??40/time. I don't have any benefits other than childcare vouchers which are deducted before they tax me anyway. Hmm. Do you think I can cash it in? Don't want to spend it and then next year they come knocking and say 'remember that ??1k we gave you? Well, you owe us ??2k now!!!' Can they do that?

Pointlessfan · 09/09/2015 21:05

jemima I have the lurgy too, hope you feel better soon.

AdoraBell · 09/09/2015 22:12

NSD. Tomorrow I need to buy loo rollsHmm didn't need them when I ordered this week's shop. I think DDs are eating the bloody things. Will also need to pay for boots being re-heeled.

lilacclery · 09/09/2015 22:22

lovetoknit sorry about your little one too x

I went for a top up shop of fruit in sv, also picked up some bargains spent ??22 but got a 5% off spit or ??10 credit on my electricity bill. Since I don't shop there because it's expensive and because I'd have to spend ??200 for equivalent savings I'm going to put it against my electricity bill. Discussed our electricity credit with dh & we'll probably enjoy not having to pay for electricity for month of jan.

CremeEggThief · 09/09/2015 22:27

What? Thread 2 already???Shock

Back after my family wedding in Ireland. I'll catch up later on, but I managed my first NSD of the month today, so a good way to start back on the thread Smile.

fuzzpig · 09/09/2015 22:35

Thanks lilac and loveto

Met another piano pupil today, will be starting next week. I now have two weeklies and one fortnightly, so ??100 every 4 weeks. I'd like to gather a few more - I do have others who are interested, but I'm thinking of printing my ad (I previously just posted on FB) and seeing if I can put it up at the newsagents if it's not too pricey. It's by the station which has a huge amount of commuters from my part of town, so may be worth a shot if lots of parents are going past every day.

fuzzpig · 09/09/2015 22:36

Oooh now my pound signs are going weird too ??????

northender · 09/09/2015 22:43

Both had tough days at work and then dd had drama & singing lessons. Dh wanted to get pizza but I managed to overrule him & make a meal from stuff we already had in, frugal win Smile

Got our compensation cheque today from United Utilities for the boiling tap water debacle. ??55 woohoo!

OP posts:
northender · 09/09/2015 22:44

And my pound signs too!

ohhelpohnoitsa · 09/09/2015 23:07

I hope clotted cream freezes as i got two tubs for 35p each rtc in morrisons. Put both in the freezer.

lilacclery · 10/09/2015 05:35

After two months of contacting the bank following their lodgement machine swallowing my money I finally got my remaining ??30 as a goodwill gesture. My own money!!! I'm hoping for some form of compensation for being out of pocket for two months so going to write to the manager Angry

This is my business account & I had free fees for first two years, I'd dearly love to move but this is the only one I can lodge to at weekends so I'm kind of stuck with it. Latest quarter ??37.10.

SpottyTeacakes · 10/09/2015 06:35

We have no food in the house so I need to go to tesco and get some lunch stuff, I have a friend cling round, not sure what to get. It's going to be 22 degrees today.

I could really do with the ??60 in my quidco account but it's not payable yet Angry

babsmam · 10/09/2015 06:39

Nsd yesterday. Hoping for the same today.
Pleased preschool went well spotty.

Sounds like there is some good frugality going on.
I got over my wish to spend but sending the kids wish lists out for birthday. Bit of virtual shopping

Ememem84 · 10/09/2015 07:38

Lsd today. I'm on a half day and am having a prosecco picnic with friends while we watch the air display. I've made sandwiches and have to pick up a bottle of fizz. Luckily I think tesco have some on special.

Collieputthekettleon · 10/09/2015 07:40

We need to reign in the spending. Sadly we have been spending a few pounds here and there. And its beginning to add up!

The only spend today is a pint of whole milk. I am also keeping an eye out for long sleeve tops for DS. Mothercare had fuck all as per usual. And Next was almost empty.
Sainsbury's had a few bits but not in the right size. Hmm I considered click and collect to save on postage when buying online and my local store said "not available".

Sad
diggerdigsdogs · 10/09/2015 07:40

Not a NSD today but low as possible - sdc needed their phones topped up which is part of DH agreement.

SpottyTeacakes · 10/09/2015 07:45

Collie how old is ds?

Girlfriend36 · 10/09/2015 09:34

Collie do you keep your eye out for kids clothes when they come up on fb buy and sell pages? When my dd was little I got the bulk of her clothes from buy and sell pages, charity shops and car boot sales!! I would only buy new a few key items. Have you got an Asda, they are quite good for basics as well.

Today there will be a few spends, have treated myself to a back massage this afternoon, am using some money my dad gave me though so actually not a true spend! Plus its only ??20 which I think is reasonable, my back is so stiff at the moment hoping it will help.

My dd is nagging me to go to Lidls Hmm apparently there is a new craze at school for these weird little plastic things that stick to windows. You can get them in Lidls apparently so we will see! Tbf I need a few things so not going just for plastic tat! Max spend will be ??20 though.

Yes quid signs still having issues!!
