bit of a fail the last few days.

Friday - £4.60 on lunch, and £12 something on pizza, milk and wine from waitrose on the way home from work.

Today went to get my nails done (my monthly treat £35 for gels which will last, not chip etc for the whole month), and have been out riding. Managed to get my lesson for free, as i helped at a pony party this afternoon.

have realised though that since 1 January I haven't bought myself any new clothes or shoes. have just used what i have at home.

Another frugal fail. Today paid £80
For kids swimming (well actually I think I paid yesterday). Today went to a nearby town that's cheaper and went to the butcher and got £25 worth of meat. Supposedly a weeks worth but I reckon it will serve me well for a month. Seriously.

£23 for lunch out for everyone.

£23 for ds' school jumpers.

£17 at a toy shop purportedly for a present for a friend of ds and ended up getting other small things for my kids. Argh.

Oh and £22 at Iceland. We needed to get bread and milk. Ended up with other things like Easter eggs, cheese and other things. So grocery aeons was something like £50 but I'm hopeful that with the butchers meat that will be it for meat and only need fruit veg, bread milk type shop which shouldn't be more than £10-15 per week I think.

Around €30 in Tesco but got 900ml bottle of shampoo and another of conditioner tresemme brand €3.50 each 3kg box of daisy dishwasher powder must go back in my Tesco shops to see how long last box lasted €6 box of fairy & bits and pieces like cheese newspaper snack pot for ds which won't spill etc

Haven't done a weekly shop since fri 8 days ago, going to stretch it out to tues I hope.

bantam good reminder about calling 3. My contract just expired too but my phone is awful. Really need a replacement but don't want to lock into a 24 month contract with them yet - I'm waiting to see if BT offers its customers a special deal on EE now they've bought the company. Sim only is a month by month plan is it?

Tomorrow (March) is the 1st day of our new budget having spent ages organising ourselves and working out what to allocate for what. So I have to remember to draw out cash for our grocery, and going out pots and to transfer money to different accounts so we can see if this new system works. The one bit I'm excited about is that I officially have £50 to spend on myself each month (clothes, craft stuff, whatever). I'm going to put that in a beautiful purse that DS bought me for Christmas and feel really indulgent every time I spend from it Smile - it'll probably last a week!

Who's starting the new thread??

CremeEggThief · 28/02/2015 19:49

Welcome to S'bag.

Needed a day out today, so I went for lunch at a nice garden centre. £3.60 travel, £6.50 lunch. Then I went for a wander around the retail centre, where I spent £42 on clothes for me (new pajamas and underwear) and DS (combats), so that's March's clothing budget gone; £4.15 on coffee and cake; and £7.79 in Sainsburys, on some Mothers' Day stuff for my mum and flowers and a few things I can't get locally. I used £5 on my Nectar card too, so it would have been £12.79 without that.

See you all on the March thread.

CremeEggThief · 28/02/2015 19:54

I have taken the liberty of starting a new thread for March. Please could someone link, as I can't from my phone.

TeWiSavesTheDay · 28/02/2015 19:59

March thread is here

CremeEggThief · 28/02/2015 20:01

Thanks TeWi Wine.

Oh and pass, I don't know when I'll hear coz I also forgot to ask!!! Doh but based on my experience of having been on similar interview panels we tend to offer that day or next day. Having said that they seem to have done things completely not in the same way as I would or have ever done, so who knows.

The headhunter said he'd ring me next week anyway so I guess I'll get feedback then.

Posted yesterday but don't know what happened to it!
Welcome Sbag!
Spent £47.50 last night on DH's birthday meal. Had budgeted £40 but our friend drove so we both ended up having a couple of drinks. Didn't get to bed until midnight and DD who has conjunctivitis woke up crying at 5 then we had a wrestling match to get her eye drops in while she screamed, great start to the day! Sad
Should be NSD today anyway.

SpottyTeacakes · 01/03/2015 07:07

Pointless we have a new thread. Have you tried doing her drops in her sleep?

lilacclery · 02/03/2015 10:05

Oh pointless putting those drops in is harrowing isn't it?
