€6.50 on school trip. €0.90 on coffee at work. But tomorrow will be very spendy!

AuditAngel · 25/02/2015 22:18

Good luck for the interviews.

£7 buying lunch, liquorice Allsorts (were my dad's favourite) and 3 Sanex deodorants reduced to £1 each.

I got a refund of £28 something as Barclaycard calculated my interest wrong. Thus is good, as I need to transfer the balance on my Halifax card (which I was supposed to clear over the last year) and the balance left on my Tesco card, where I had to pay my horrible tax bill (underpaid PAYE meant I couldn't clear the child benefit charge via tax code)

Mum gave me £40 towards the shopping as she is still with me. I have said I'll get her bottles of water as part of the normal food shop, but need to try to run down freezer so need to shop strategically.

I have also been the recipient IV a piece if unexpected generosity. DS tried on a costume he needs for the forthcoming show. Normally we pay about half price for hand me dopwn costumes. The mum concerned is risking part in 40 acts of kindness for Lent. She says she has been finding it hard, but found it really easy to decide to give me the costume. I am so touched, especially as she needs to make her son a replacement and will need to buy material.

I will try to follow her example and be generous as a repayment. It doesn't need to be money, a gift of time works too.

AuditAngel · 25/02/2015 22:19

Oh my word, how many typos in one post.

I'm sure you get the drift. Grateful recipient, generous friend.

AdoraBell · 26/02/2015 01:02

£3.25 on parking at the airport
£4 on drinks in the afternoon
£6.70 on 2 small bins for bathrooms

Laksa that's very annoying. We seem To Get through copius amounts of tyres (DH) and windscreens here. I've had To replace 2 windscreens and currently have a chip in the third. If this screen doesn't spilt I won't need To replace it, fingers crossed.

Good luck with the interviews. Will sign the chocolate icon petición TomorrowGrin

NK5BM3 · 26/02/2015 05:37

Dh is an idiot. He got more milk yesterday after work. There's now less than 1/4 of a pint left because he only bought two pints! He tried telling the dc they couldn't have ready brek this morning as not enough milk. Who's fault is that?! Ffs I buy 6pints at a time it's not like we haven't budgeted for it or it will go to waste Hmm now I have to buy some more today.

Good luck NK!

Little two, got me up really early this morning, not impressed.

random question of the day - anyone remember those packs of 3 cheese pizzas you can get in aldi? V cheap, us it £1.20 for 3? Think this will be cheapest party food option.

babsmam · 26/02/2015 06:38

Good luck NK.
Lsd today mirror for aldi voucher then nowt until I see hoe much the car repairs will be. New seatbelt buckle.

Fluffycloudland77 · 26/02/2015 06:59

Adora, is it a legal requirement out there that you replace a split screen? I have two massive chips in my screen but I won't replace it until I send it back to the finance company.

Even if it cracks it won't get changed.

lilacclery · 26/02/2015 08:22

I'm not caught up yet but just wanted to say I've cleared my catalogue debt this morning. Cleared one last year. Determined not to use them again unless I've means to pay back within the month!

opalsandsilver · 26/02/2015 09:10

Checking back in. Unusual spendy week as parents staying. They are lovely guests to have and have helped practically and also paid for shopping. Their last evening tonight so going to do the Marks Dine in for a tenner. rotisserie chicken, petit pois and carrots, my own potatoes and the lemon tart with ice cream we already have. And some wine.

What would you choose from that range with an aim to serving more than two?

Passthecake30 · 26/02/2015 10:59

Interview went ok, but tbh I'm not keen on the job/area so would prob be better if I'm not offered?! It was a lower graded role from what I was on previously and it showed. I'm concerned if I was to take something like that I would never get back up again. Very good experience for tomorrow though, which looks much more appealing and a higher grade. I know my downfalls, and need to structure my answers better, and if I feel I haven't done well in one answer, put it to bed and don't let that reduce my morale for all the following?

PAY DAY woo hoo. Got spare cash as by being at home I'm not spending much so will contribute to the house renovations.

Just bought printer ink and flesh Hama beads on Amazon

DD has 4 parties to attend in the next 3 weekends, I do have a draw full of bits I've seen when out and about...but I'm seriously considering putting a fiver in any future ones as the effort of finding something decent for a reasonable cost is getting monotonous.....

Good luck NK

lilacclery · 26/02/2015 12:40

laska I'm very interested in your talk about pensions because I got my first ever statement of my own that employers pay into for me yesterday. It's currently projected to be €46 Shock weekly when I retire! I would be eligible for tax relief of 20% on my contributions so I'm planning on getting this going in Jan 16 once I've eliminated credit card debt.

Good luck pass andnk

SpottyTeacakes · 26/02/2015 13:23

I finally have my blood results! Only because I had a neurology appt at the hospital and my dr looked for me. Haven't heard from my gp Hmm it's still positive but not as hight as it was.

girliefriend · 26/02/2015 14:55

Hello all, so girl cat is at the vets hoping she is alright. The vet who looked today wasn't particularly reassuring - its like a roller coaster Sad anyway at least a biopsy will give us a definitive answer as to what we are dealing with.

Todays treatment will be £330 but will use savings and send insurance claim off.

Also spent £2.90 on parking
£16 on 2 pairs of school trousers for dd, she has outgrown most of her current trousers (she has ridiculously long legs!!)
£4 in poundland on pack lunch bits and stuff for the treat tin.
£11 in Wilkos got lots for that, 2 lots of toothpaste, 3 lots of sanpro, 8 packets of seeds for my flower pots, tin opener and peeler oh and some face wipes - love Wilkos Grin

SpottyTeacakes · 26/02/2015 14:57

We don't have a wilkos round here or home bargains etc. So annoying!

OP posts:
girliefriend · 26/02/2015 15:00

Pass how old is your dd? I love The Works for cheap bday presents, either nice stationary or craft sets or books. Also Poundstretchers do some surprisingly nice puzzles and toys, I always put a £5 limit on presents for parties, also I get 10 bday cards for £1 in Card Warehouse.

girliefriend · 26/02/2015 15:01

No Wilkos?? Shock Grin

Is that good news re your blood results spotty?

SpottyTeacakes · 26/02/2015 15:05

Nope and no pounstretcher or cheap card shops. We have poundland and that's it.

Dunno really. It's still positive which is bad but everything else is ok so I really still don't know. Good news is my neurologist doesn't want to see me for five years Smile

OP posts:
girliefriend · 26/02/2015 15:08

Shock Where do you live?? (You don't have to answer that Wink) we are fortunate to have pretty much all the discount shops - would be lost and even more skint without them!!

Sorry I must have missed what your positive for? That is reassuring if they don't want to see you for 5 years though!!

girliefriend · 26/02/2015 15:11

Oh also spent £2.15 on a sandwich and bag of crisps for lunch today, was naughty as bought them in Greggs and then went and ate them in Coffee 1 Blush my mum bought me a cup of tea. Coffee 1 sandwiches are ridiculously expensive though so what do they expect Wink

lilacclery · 26/02/2015 15:48

girliefriend Shock at eating food from another shop! In Ireland they even look at you funny when you do that at a food court which is designed that way!

SpottyTeacakes · 26/02/2015 15:50

I'm in the southeast sussex/Surrey border.

Well my neurologist has nothing to do with the bloods they were from the immunologist. I've got a positive ana which is the antibody which attacks your own body basically. All fun and games Grin I want a referral to a rheumatologist now I think Confused

girliefriend · 26/02/2015 15:54
