I've decided to humour myself and start this thread laughs hysterically. Anyone care to join me with their stories. Maybe we can out skint each other...

So, you know you're truly skint when:
Shopping in charity shops are no longer ironic.
The middle of the month arrives and you panic about feeding the family.
You can not afford the petrol to work.
You're growing your own veg but cannot stretch to compost to enrich the soil.
DS and DD's shoes are too tight (something you never thought you would allow to happen)
Your bra is too tight, buying a new one is out of the question, so you just 'get used' to the pain.
Yadda harumph harumph

Zukie I want to give you a big un-MNy hug and tell you that you are a far far better person than me for putting up with that shit and to wish you all the very best for a happy future

Good for you! I can imagine that tackling the issue is very scary indeed. Keep your eye on the prize Grin

BoffinMum · 24/05/2012 23:09

Zukie, how about having it engraved with something like "That's all you're getting, you fecking bastard!" Grin

Amazing thread,People may slag off mumsnet but it's threads like this and the wonderful people posting on it (mostly!) that makes this a great online community.

We are all in this together! Now I would burn my bra but I am running low on them so I'll do it virtually Grin

BoffinMum · 24/05/2012 23:35

My bras all hurt, and I am not even that badly off, considering everything.

Good news, btw. I closed a RBS bank account in something like 2006, but they have just written to me to say they made a mistake on the charges they calculated at the time, and they owe me north of £160.

I am about to celebrate this with the first person to post me their brassiere needs. I will treat both of us to a modest new bra.

The runner up gets a free Austerity Housekeeping t-shirt that I commissioned from Vistaprint.

BoffinMum · 24/05/2012 23:57

Just got 4 t-shirt bras for £25 via M and S online! Grin

BoffinMum · 25/05/2012 00:00

If anyone wants a brand new white 34G t-shirt I've now got one going begging! They came in packs of two and I won't need two white ones (I prefer nude coloured ones).

BoffinMum · 25/05/2012 00:00

Ta. doormat. Grin

Zukie have some old German Marks I can post to you - it is money but has no value - would make a good present??

DairyNips · 25/05/2012 10:38

Are there any pregnant women who live in/near Durham here?

I recently took part in a '100 women in birth' project where I had to answer questions on my pregnancies and labours. As a thank you I received a voucher from a doula based in Durham that entitles me to a free 30 minute clarity or healing/relaxation session with her.

I am too far away to take advantage of this so would love to send it to someone having a rough time at the moSmile

Just reply on here or pm me!
