National acknowledgement of how rubbish the initial phase was

Is there some kind of national acknowledgement of just how rubbish the pandemic was back in 2020? The deaths, the lockdowns, the effect on mental health. I'm wondering if there's an inquiry or something or a museum. Something that marks what was for many a truly awful tim.

Best just to move on to be honest, enough people are still living in the past

I think it all happened so quickly it was difficult to get a grip on it all. A new experience for most, including the government. It affected some more than others and of course there were casualties (I can think of two within my acquaintance).

Covid is still with us but the majority are vaccinated and will keep up with the vaccine. There are places that still insist on some of the regulations to prevent spread of infection which is frustrating and inconvenient for some.

However those of us that can need to move on. Hindsight is all very well but frankly nobody really knew how to deal with the global pandemic and did their best. I see no point in making a pronouncement, what could anyone say?

The Liverpool Care Pathway was phased out almost a decade ago after lots of concern raised by the press and public.

Oh for goodness sake!! People all around the world go through awful things all the time without needing a museum or national acknowledgement of how bad it was. Just move on. Why do people think the pandemic was the most dreadful thing ever to happen in the history of the world?

I don't understand why people don't want to move on from this and keep going over it. EVERYONE acknowledges it was shit. It was an unprecedented horrible time. But we need to move on.

I get that and for people who can move on without it that's all well and good. I was just thinking of all those people who are taking longer to "move on"

OP I don't think I'll ever get past lockdowns etc but a concert won't help!

Members of my family were badly affected in different ways. I know people who lost multiple relations. It was shit for so many if us.

I am CEV and still have to be careful, still testing regularly.

I have no interest in a concert, a memorial or what Charles Windsor has to say. The sooner we move on the better. As another pp said, this was not the worst thing to happen in history. People have always had to be resilient.

I doubt if there was a concert after every wave of the Black Death.

Tbh i thoroughly enjoyed the first lockdown. I was able to work from home enjoyed glorious weather , was fortunate knew no one who died.

I realise that is not the same for everyone but i have really fond memories of the first one.
