I have it and I feel fucking horrific, like the worst flu of my life. I had it last year & didn't feel anywhere near this bad. Anyone else?

Yes, first time as well. Started last Tuesday, Wednesday was awful, since then just deep exhaustion, feel better today and last night managed to go to bed without jumpers, hot water bottle, socks and two duvets.

Onedayatatime22 · 14/11/2022 16:31

Day 6 here. Have come back to bed. 😰🤧🥶

whenindoubtgotothelibrary · 14/11/2022 17:50

Tested postive last Thursday having worked through whilst feeling awful for three days - but I assumed it was just a cold at first. Had to have Thurs/Fri in bed. Planning to go back to work (WFH though) tomorrow. It was my first episode, and I'm fully vaccinated plus boosters. Sense of taste and smell is thankfully coming back and I do feel broadly OK today so hopefully I've got away with a mildish bout.

Surreymamauk · 14/11/2022 22:15

Tested pos on weds with Lat Flow and have had a banging headache and general foggy head. Ears are ringing like tinnitus. Runny nose and slight sinus pain. Think I've got off very lightly tbh

Might test again tomorrow to see if the line is fading

Crystaly · 15/11/2022 12:05

Yesterday my line was deep red. Today hardly visible. Now DH is testing blazing red positive. I wonder how it can go from so positive to barley positive in 24 hours

Newpuppymummy · 15/11/2022 12:06

We currently have it. Feels pretty horrid

Crystaly · 15/11/2022 12:10

From this just yesterday to barley anything today and tested twice to see if it was definitely right.

Itsonlyagame · 15/11/2022 12:12

We currently have is. Dc had it for a day or two, just mild. I am on day 2 of symptoms but day 1 of positive test. Don't feel too bad, just a bit of a head cold. We all had ot mild last Christmas.

DoctorMartin · 15/11/2022 12:15

Me. First timer! Had a very mild cold from Wednesday last week then started coughing Saturday night so tested. Spent two days in bed with a cough and the worst headache ever! Today I feel ok apart from severe weakness and exhaustion. My legs are like jelly!

Spidey66 · 15/11/2022 12:22

I returned to work last Tuesday after having it. It wasn't the worst illness I've had (the worst infections I remember having were flu twice, tonsillitis twice, one UTI and a particularly memorable and unpleasant time when I had a cold and food poisoning at the same time....every time I coughed or sneezed it came out the other end😯) but it wasn't pleasant. I'm still tired all the time though, sleeping 12-14 hours given the chance and using a phone and radio to wake me up in the mornings for work.

rockingbird · 15/11/2022 18:15

Second child down with it today.. so now a full house of Covid. Woohoo 😷

Onedayatatime22 · 17/11/2022 09:01

How's everyone doing? Day 9 here and still testing strong positive... feeling better but certainly not right yet.

Itsonlyagame · 17/11/2022 09:31

Day 4 of symptoms. Can really feel it clearing today. I think symptoms will be gone by tomorrow. Felt a bit wobbly and tired yesterday, that was certainly the worst day. Expect it was my immune system kicking into overdrive.

jeremycamelstie · 17/11/2022 10:06

Tested positive on Tuesday because I'd had a headache all day and a scratchy throat. Didn't feel too unwell until the following day, when it became like a horrible head cold. Still feeling rough although the headache isn't as bad, but it's definitely not as bad as when I had covid earlier this year. I had my booster in October so I'm thinking that's helped this time. Hoping you all feel better soon

Crystaly · 17/11/2022 13:42

All better for me. Lasted 5-6 days compared to 12 days last year. Was bad but no where near as bad as last time. Wishing you all a speedy recovery

SophiaLarsen · 17/11/2022 15:07

Slept last night but sweated absolute buckets. Throat not as horrific but I feel really weak and my eyes are leaking. Much more tired today. Just woke from a 4 hour sleep.

StrongerThanYouTh1nk · 20/11/2022 10:41

Day 5 here. Feeling completely ok today. Tempted to do a test because a negative would mean I can mix with my own children in the house again and generally go about my day as usual. First three days were bad - sore throat, blocked nose, sweating, couldn't sleep or even lie down until 3am because my blocked nose was completely intolerable in a horizontal position. But I have don't have the insane exhaustion that came with covid last time so fingers crossed this is an easier version of it!

StrongerThanYouTh1nk · 20/11/2022 10:45

Thanks @Crystaly I'm hoping I'll be fine after 5-6 days too :)

Get well soon @SophiaLarsen - I felt exactly the same for 3 days / 2 nights but then I got better. It's not fun but hopefully you've been through the worst of it already.

SingMeToSIeep · 21/11/2022 13:14

Seventh time for me currently, last time was mid September, fifth time this year.

To say I've had enough is an understatement.

StrongerThanYouTh1nk · 21/11/2022 18:45

Gosh @SingMeToSIeep what?!! Are you in a high risk job? Teacher, doctor, etc? That's beyond annoying! How are your symptoms this time? Do you feel you're getting some immunity at all, does it get easier?..

SingMeToSIeep · 22/11/2022 12:46

I have RA and am on immunosuppressant drugs, which as well as making me a lurgy magnet also has the added bonus of making vaccines not work as well as they do for most people (I've had six). DD is a teacher so brings all the bugs home, which altogether adds up to the perfect storm!

I'm feeling a bit better today I think, but yes, it's more annoying than anything else. I've had to cancel a much needed dentist appointment on Thursday - I have toothache as well as Covid! - plus a hospital appointment. This time has been sort of middling - not as bad as the infection I had in March, but worse than September. I feel very tired and achy but I can't sleep!

ChristmasTunesAlready · 22/11/2022 12:49

We all havel it (me, H and DD). Its just like a cold for me and I seem to be recovering. Still testing positive but much fainter than my first positive on Thursday night. Hubby is completely wiped out. DD is doing so well...mostly just coughing and snotty.

altmember · 23/11/2022 09:09

I know of more people who've currently got it or recently had it than at any time since the start of the pandemic. Loads of people have it without realising as well. My dp is fully vaccinated, re ently boosted, and has had covid at least once this year, but still caught it again last week. DSS had it again last week, 2nd time within 4 weeks! Worse symptoms than previous infections too. The only positive is that people who've had it before generally seem to be recovering quicker.

RudolphTheGreat · 23/11/2022 09:22

Ds has it here. He was ill for a couple,of days complains of headache, achy legs and an achy back. No appetite and slept a lot. Tested negative on day two, positive on day 3 but was also much better by day 3 so hasn't lasted long fortunately. He's the only unvaccinated one in the house so don't know if anyone else will get it/show symptoms.

StrawberryPot · 23/11/2022 14:42

I do. Started feeling off colour (sore throat) on Monday; streaming nose and cough yesterday so did a test and it was positive.

Today I'm staying in bed with cough, headache and aches and pains. I also feel sick and light-headed/faint if I get up.

Hope it doesn't get any worse than this.
