So I've just found out I've got covid. Did a test this morning. It started with a fever on Monday night which continued until last night. Fever has now gone and I've got a slight chesty cough lingering. Feel a bit dizzy as well. Has anyone else had the same? Was this the beginning of the end for you?

@Catsforeverinlove feeling a bit better, although last night I felt terrible. My period has been 10 x worse with covid. Really bad cramps plus I've had the sickness from covid. Felt so down at dinner time. Definitely feeling better today. I'm sorry you're feeling bad. It will get better. You're probably a day or so behind me so you should hopefully feel better in a day or two.

Day 6 today. Fever gone, finally.

Onset of lack of taste yesterday. Bloody annoying. Can't tell if my milk is off or not!

Thankfully haven't experienced the nausea... yet

Get well soon folks

JacquelineCarlyle · 24/09/2022 11:13

Get well soon everyone and thanks for the ibuprofen tip as that has worked so much better than paracetamol.

Catsforeverinlove · 24/09/2022 12:05

@Lizbiz89 I actually think I must had it since Sunday when my legs started aching, then on Tuesday night I felt feverish with chills and woke on Wednesday feeling nauseous and tested positive.
Oh the nausea is terrible! It feels like I am gonna puke any second but nothing happening I’m thinking what to take to stop it as it s absolutely debilitating now.

Lizbiz89 · 24/09/2022 12:13

@Catsforeverinlove yeah I'm with you on the nausea completely. All my symptoms seem to be subsiding apart from the horrendous nausea. I'm desperate to feel hungry again! Just had a slice of marmite on toast and that was just about bearable. It must be the flem that's causing it as I keep coughing up horrendous amounts (sorry tmi!). Really hoping it's improved by tonight 🙏

@Lizbiz89 yeah other symptoms are manageable, my body doesn’t ache much now.
Just have the horrific nausea and randomly sweating and feeling tired a bit.
Im thinking if I should get some anti sickness pills like I had with morning sickness.
I actually can’t even get of sofa, thinking I will be sick any moment.
Can you smell or have taste?
My nose is itchy inside but not blocked, can smell a bit, though not fully.

2anddone · 24/09/2022 12:22

So pleased to hear the 'morning sickness' feeling I have had since I tested positive for Covid last Saturday is not unusual!! I know I am not pregnant (not had sex in a couple years!) but feels exactly how I felt when pregnant with dd 14 years ago!! Currently sat here with travel bands on along with anti sickness tablets and eating ginger biscuits...hope this passes quickly but I suffer from dizziness anyway so hoping this won't be made worse!

Lizbiz89 · 24/09/2022 12:27

@Catsforeverinlove I've been mostly on the sofa as well. Not sure whether to have a nap as my dh has taken the kids out. Maybe that will help! My taste has gone weird. It's not like a cold either where I can't smell at all, it's like everything smells and tastes off instead. Very odd. But you're right, the most I can compare it to is morning sickness. Never had a bug like it! Especially because it's lingered on for so long now. I'm usually over bugs really quickly so this is very unusual for me.

@Lizbiz89 I just re tested, was hoping maybe for negative result to give me a boost, knowing that it would’ve gone.
sadly not- big thick positive showed immediately.
Yeah I had a bad morning sickness when pregnant 11 yrs ago , had to be admitted twice for IV drips, was sick all the time, this feels exactly like that.
Got some ginger biscuits, sadly pharmacist are shut around here now for the anti sickness pills and Amazon doesn’t sell them.

Catsforeverinlove · 24/09/2022 13:32

@2anddone yes definitely feels like that.
Im scared to move as it feels like to throw up any minute.
Are them ginger biscuits working? And the anti sickness band?
I remember I had one of those when pregnant 11yr ago, it didn’t do anything for me, however I remember Cyclizyne pills for anti sickness worked wonders.

2anddone · 24/09/2022 13:36

@Catsforeverinlove the bands seem to be working but not sure if that's more because I have a 'visual' that I am trying something to stop the nausea if you see what I mean? Ginger biscuits seem to be working too (I am constantly starving put on 3lb since Saturday!) I have Prochlorperazine tablets which were prescribed by dr for my last dizzy spell I am allowed to take up to 3 a day and I am taking all 3...feel a bit better today but just moved to get spelling of the tablets and it hit me like a wave again!

Catsforeverinlove · 24/09/2022 13:42

@2anddone thats the thing isn’t, you feel okish for a minute, thinking Yeaah that’s it ! and it hit you again!
I Got no pills as no pharmacy open now near me and the one I used in pregnancy are on prescription anyway.

2anddone · 24/09/2022 13:45

@Catsforeverinlove can you get to a supermarket with a pharmacy in to get some kwells travel tablets or bands to see how they work?

Catsforeverinlove · 24/09/2022 17:42

@2anddone I manage to get a lift to get some anti sickness pills from Boots.
Before I went out I took some kiddies Ibuprofen ( liquid) and it definitely helped with the nausea!
I’m quite surprised as it worked as painkiller for nausea too.
I took the liquid version as the tablet one makes me sick after.

Lizbiz89 · 24/09/2022 18:06

So new lovely side effect is my period is unbelievably heavy! I haven't had a period this heavy since my teenage years! Plus the cramps are awful. It's making me feel quite light headed how heavy it is. Bloody hell this thing is awful!

OP posts:
Catsforeverinlove · 24/09/2022 18:29

@Lizbiz89 i also got my period yesterday, unexpectedly as my previous one finished not even a week ago. I’m peri now, so it’s quite light.
How is your nausea? I took some ibuprofen and somehow it worked on it too..but I can feel it slowly coming back now as wearing off.

My first one after covid was ridiculous. I'd just recovered from the covid!

Catsforeverinlove · 24/09/2022 18:32

Also I couldn’t put up with drinking of the Nettle and peppermint teas anymore.. 🙄

Lizbiz89 · 24/09/2022 18:38

@Catsforeverinlove that's good yours has been light. Mine started off quite light and now it's got heavier with a vengeance! And awful cramps! Agh! My nausea is a bit better but maybe that's because the period pain has taken over now.

@properdoughnut at least I'm not alone! This isn't even me imagining things either as it's noticeably heavier and more painful. Having to change way more as well. Can't wait until I'm over this bloody horrible thing!

I couldn't walk. My cramps were that bad. If I hadn't have had a similar experience first time round I would have mad panicked!

Lizbiz89 · 24/09/2022 18:46

@properdoughnut thank you for reassuring me. Definitely going to bed with a hot water bottle and some strong pain killers tonight! Can't believe this nasty bug can affect so many parts of your body!

OP posts:
Catsforeverinlove · 24/09/2022 18:47

Now my nose inside is so burning! Anyone has it too?

JacquelineCarlyle · 24/09/2022 20:42

Mine is @Catsforeverinlove, at the bridge of my nose!

Lizbiz89 · 25/09/2022 08:23

@properdoughnut out of interest how long did your period last after covid? I'm on day 3 and it's still really heavy and crampy. Usually by now my period is really light and I definitely don't have cramps.

OP posts:
Catsforeverinlove · 25/09/2022 09:36

How is everyone today? My sense of smell and taste is now getting greatly affected now. I’m feeling like it disappeared slowly.
Nausea still there but not so strong as yesterday, waiting for the next symptom now..
Body doesn’t ache anymore much, only my spine a bit at the back..
