Tested positive on Tuesday and just wondering from what day are people starting to test negative with the current strain?

SparklingPeach · 09/07/2022 11:38

Very faint on day 5, negative on day 6.

CiderWithLizzie · 09/07/2022 11:40

I also tested positive on Tuesday, still a bright red positive today.

Bobishere · 09/07/2022 11:43

I'm on day 11 and still a faint positive.

ChangedToday · 09/07/2022 12:01

For memory it took me about a week to test negative

fortifiedwithtea · 09/07/2022 16:03

Tested very postitive on day 3 of symptoms, today is day 9 still faintly positive. The upset stomach is lingering. Do not trust a fart. And bloody tired.

InMySpareTime · 09/07/2022 16:08

DH positive Monday, negative today.
I was positive Tuesday but will leave it until tomorrow to test as we're low on tests and I have no plans today anyway.

CaitrionaAnne · 09/07/2022 16:12

I Tested faintly postitive on day 3 of symptoms (Last Sunday). Been a big fat positive ever since, including today.

Pambo81 · 09/07/2022 21:17

I was day 12 - that was a few weeks ago now.

Me too. And scratchy throat has returned.

Lelivre · 10/07/2022 17:40

Son positive for 7 days and husband 5 days.

OchonAgusOchonOh · 10/07/2022 17:43

Oh fuck. You lot are getting me worried now. I picked it up last Sunday, tested positive on Thursday and am supposed to be going away next Sunday.

Those of you testing positive for ages - did you have mild or severe symptoms? I'm really very mild so I'm hoping there is a correlation.

We're still positive on day 8. We're supposed to be going away on Wednesday and unsure what to do. Can't particularly afford to cancel, and it'll be beyond day 10 i.e. the guidance implies it's fine, but we can't decide if that'd morally feel ok if we knew we were positive

gwenneh · 10/07/2022 19:43

Between day 10-11 for both me and for DH.

Sexnotgender · 10/07/2022 19:44

Day 16

Pluvia · 10/07/2022 19:47

My partner is on day 11 and still testing positive. We have someone in the family who tested positive for nearly three weeks earlier in the year and ended up having a whole range of tests which revealed a fatty liver. The doctors just said they had no idea what was going on, but as far as they were concerned he could stop testing...

ElspethBoomingHowsen · 10/07/2022 19:47

Negative today on day 7

Rocky2022 · 10/07/2022 20:04

DH on day 5. Still positive

Or maybe be a half decent human being and remember that some people, particularly those who are more clinically vulnerable, are still getting very sick and continue testing/wearing a mask until you are sure you are no longer at risk of passing it on.

Finally tested negative on day 13. Had really bad symptoms for 5 days and then a cold/runny nose after that (no cough). I isolated for the whole time as lucky to be able to wfh. It’s obviously the right thing to do if you can.

Lelivre · 11/07/2022 08:14

My totally unscientific suggestion is to drink lots of water if it's dragging on. I say this because...My son had no cough/sneezing and wasn't drinking much and days of strong positives so I upped his hydration, which required lots of nagging, when he was still positive on day 7. The next day he was clear.

Husband was coughing sneezing and drinking lots of electrolyte water with added vit C. from the get go. He cleared fast, started to get fading positive 2 days after his first positive and totally clear within 5 days.

Can't lose anything and it's really hot anyway!
