Covid rules travelling to Spain

We are going away soon and my husband hasn't had the booster. I thought with Spain you only needed the 2 vaccines but my mum is adamant he needs a booster (which he is refusing to have). Please let me know if you've been to Spain what the requirements are/were as it isn't clear on the gov website. Thank you

If your second jab was more than 270 days ago, you need a booster.

Make sure you are looking on spanish gov website as that will have most up to date details.

Quick google shows can't be more than 270 days from latest jab or then a PCR/LFT done in a lab befote being able to fly

Yes booster needed if the 2nd jab was more than 270 days ago.

The UK .gov site suggests you need to be fully vaccinated (plus booster if >270 days since 2nd jab) or have a recovery certificate. It doesn't say you can travel for tourism purposes if you can't show either of these. Maybe there is updated advice somewhere else

This only says children age 12 to 18 can test instead of having a valid vaccine certificate or proof of recovery

Hey, I'm a Spaniard, and I don't know the rules for travel (as in, the requisites for entering from the UK), however, they've basically completely stopped asking for any type of certificate in almost every place (restaurants, museums, clubs, etc).

If his second jab was more than 270 days ago he needs a booster, which if he hasn't had he counts as unvaccinated and cannot travel.
Only other way around it is if he's had covid in last six months he could get a recovery certificate

Make sure you fill in the relevant Spanish forms before you fly, ours were thoroughly checked on arrival in Spain. We were never asked for anything after that.

There are no forms to fill in now unless you are unvaccinated. Just need proof of vaccination.

I have had both jabs but they were over 270 days ago so I need to get a booster to fly. I read somewhere on the government website that if you get the booster then you can fly with immediate effect. Is this true? Or is there a 14 day period you need to wait?

They will check for proof of vaccination when you land, the covid pass on your nhs app is enough but everyone was checked when we flew to Barcelona recently. No forms needed tho, but when my partner went back in April he did need forms. Just keep an eye on the gov website but def get him that booster

If you have received a booster, you are considered fully vaccinated for entry into Spain. As soon as you receive your booster, you are considered fully vaccinated with immediate effect. There is currently no expiry date for booster jabs.

Not many adults will have had a booster and many over 270 days

So I guess those people need to get a booster just for travel?

Loads of people have had boosters. Anyone who I know who is eligible have had their 3rd jab already.

Yes if people want to travel they will need boosters or alternatively many countries will accept a negative covid test instead (although you'd need to pay privately for that)

I'm 48 and got my booster (3rd injection) and so did dh and even dd who is 18. It's offered to everyone over 18.

There are others who are being offered the 2nd booster (so they have had 4 injections) but they are for vulnerable groups not everyone

Sorry the booster is offered to everyone over 16 not 18. Ds will get his when he is 16 in October

I'm 49 and had my booster months ago? Same for my DH and he's 46.

This really is incorrect advice! I am 40 and had my booster in December.

The last roll out in the the UK to all adults of a booster was in December in 2021. That was less than 270 days ago. Most adult had the booster.
