Covid rules travelling to Spain

We are going away soon and my husband hasn't had the booster. I thought with Spain you only needed the 2 vaccines but my mum is adamant he needs a booster (which he is refusing to have). Please let me know if you've been to Spain what the requirements are/were as it isn't clear on the gov website. Thank you

You’ll be fine. 2+1 covers beyond 270 days.

Thank you

Just to say we are just back from Mallorca and they checked for the 3 vaccinations at a desk just after border control

drspouse · 13/07/2022 19:09

Can anyone point me to something from the Spanish government saying that 3 doses counts as fully vaccinated even if it was more than 270 days ago?
DH and I had ours in October 2021 and we are going in August. DCs are under 12 so are OK.

Tillsforthrills · 13/07/2022 19:10

Booster or just do a covid test

Booster or just do a covid test

What are you calling a booster? Dose 3 or dose 4? That's what's confusing me.

dementedpixie · 13/07/2022 19:33

For most people the 3rd dose is a booster.
Some vulnerable people got a 4th dose too

this is from the UK gov website which is my go-to.

I guess you could Google if you wanted to find Spanish gov website but guess it would be in Spanish.

If you have received a booster, you are considered fully vaccinated for entry into Spain. As soon as you receive your booster, you are considered fully vaccinated with immediate effect. There is currently no expiry date for booster jabs.

Brilliant!

Sofedupofitall · 13/07/2022 22:19

What would happen if someone was meant to take a pcr as unvaccinated and results never came through and they checked? Would they test them or would you have to try and arrange a flight home or would you not be allowed on a flight with covid?

I flew in today. They do check your passes on arrival

Clear as mud! It just talks about "vaccination" without giving a definition.

(From the link)

An EU digital COVID certificate (DCC) or EU equivalent is a digital certification issued by the competent authorities of EU countries, and third countries/territories that have joined the DCC system, that a person:

  • has been vaccinated against COVID-19, with a complete schedule or booster dose. In the case of a complete vaccination schedule, you should check the validity periods: this certificate will be valid from 14 days after the administration of the last dose of the complete vaccination schedule and will be valid up to 270 days from the administration of this last dose. The vaccination certificate with complete schedule for children under 18 has no expiry date.
  • Thereafter, in order to be valid (people aged 18 and over), the vaccination certificate must reflect the administration of a booster dose. These certificates will be considered valid from the day the booster dose is administered.
