I'm going to be with +ve people today. We then plan to isolate together.
What should I do/get before exposure? I can get to a supermarket before I see them.

Calpol
Fruit juice
Tins of soup

@theDudesmummy

No-one is "deliberately trying to to catch it", can people not conceive of a situation where they might have to look after someone ill with Covid? Ffs.
Sadly that isn't the case. Across the world people are doing exactly that!

@LilQueenie i dont understand any of your readoning. There could be many potential reasons why parents were not looking after their own children, can you really really not think of any? Also, she did not say it was not her own children. So it may be.

I don't know what the rules are in England for a close contact if a household case, here in Ireland you do not have to isolate or restrict movements if you are a household contact if fully vaxxed. We only had to stay home after we ourselves tested positive. But anyway the OP did not indicate she was going to be going out, in fact just the opposite, she was looking for advice about what to stock up on before she headed into the situation, presumably because she knew she may be stuck indoors for a bit.

Bit dramatic @cookiemonster2468 - I still can’t smell months after covid & it’s not remotely ruining my life. In fact it’s mostly a bonus in many situations, public toilets are a delight these days 😂

theDudesmummy · 26/01/2022 16:53

@SamphiretheStickerist yes OK, I know about some idiots out there doing that, I meant this person was not trying to do that!

Bobholll · 26/01/2022 16:56

It really seems to shock people on here that the vast majority of people are not terrified or even remotely worried about catching covid. I literally couldn’t care less. I’ve had it twice, I’m triple vaxxed. I’m sure I’ll get it again. I do not care at all. It’s why I’m vaxxed, to prevent serious illness. Yeh, you feel pretty rough for a while but like anything else, you recover & on you go. It’s baffling to me that so many cannot cope with being ill for a couple weeks. It’s just part of life. I do understand if you are CEV or it affects your pay etc.

People are going to loose their minds when Boris drops the need to isolate in a couple months 🙈

You could be one of many that are exposed to covid but never get it. I’ve been round loads of people at work and yet I’m only one red line! Bloody inconsiderate I’d like a few days off

Half the fun will be watching them do so!!
@Abraxan can you use anbesol liquid? It's much better than bonjela and excellent at numbing pain.
Sadly not, according to the pharmacist anyway. Something to do with the medication. Very annoying.

That was me. I certainly didn't go out of my way to get it, but actually felt a bit of a sense of relief that now I've had it rather than the constant when will I test positive. I know I could get it again. Just like I could get other illnesses multiple times.

The thought of being in ppe all the time in my own home like some posters are suggesting seems nuts to me. And could cause long term issues in itself - what kind of message does that send a child??

I also wonder how people will be when isolating is a thing of the past.

Thanks for all your suggestions.
You'll be pleased to hear I didn't catch it, in spite of all the unprotected cuddles. Smile
