Anyone actually have omricon covid mild?

2boysand1princess · 20/01/2022 19:28

So many friends and family ill with it now. To my shock all have had 3-4 days of fever and sever aches and pain. Only know 3 people who have had it very mild (no high fever or aches etc)
My DH had it very mild (mild sore throat) but he is triple jabbed. My other colleagues and friends had quite a rough time with it and none are triple jabbed just double.
Would be interesting to hear of other omricon experiences

Me, I felt sniffly last week and that was it. No other symptoms, I'm triple jabbed.

Flaxmeadow · 20/01/2022 21:21

If you've been vaccinated and are up to date with it, then it is obviously more likely to be mild. That's probably what is meant by 'mild'.

Summersdreaming · 20/01/2022 21:28

Me, but delta was mild too (not as mild as omicron). But then I have never had a fever as an adult.. some people must be more prone to them? I had cold/cough symptoms.

Pfbing · 20/01/2022 21:33

Triple jabber CEV DH (had lymphoma historically so pretty shity immune system). Very occasional cough and had a scratchy throat for a day. LFTs still positive day 9

Snowisfalling33 · 20/01/2022 21:40

I've had 20 people around me with it recently, colleagues and family members.
Two were completely asymptomatic, ten had mild colds that they wouldn't have taken a day off work for ordinarily.
Two were very poorly and needed medical intervention (though not hospitalised) and took over 3 weeks to feel better. The other six felt pretty rough for about 3/4 days then it was just a cold.

LadyCatStark · 20/01/2022 21:47

Yes DS (12 and single jabbed) had a sore throat for 2 days and that’s it.

2boysand1princess · 20/01/2022 21:57

@shivabeaver

This thread has made me do another test haha, negative. Ds2's test was ike a pregnancy test when you are 8 weeks gone, the test line came up before the control line.
Yes! I appreciate all these responses as I’m sure they will prove useful to others too. I had a bunged up nose first followed by allergy type runny nose and sneezing. Day 3 had a mild headache which was mainly due to the bunged up nose and a sore throat that lasted 2 days. I had no fever or aches and pains. Had I not known about the mild cold like symptoms I never would’ve thought to test. Few days later my kids got it. All my kids had a very very mild fever for 1-2 days and 2 of the 3 kids had a runny nose.

Also I was not boostered at the time

I wouldn't have known I had COVID if it wasn't for my friend testing and letting me know to test.

Somethingsnappy · 20/01/2022 22:17

I am twice, but not thrice, jabbed. I had 24 hours of feeling achy and fluey, but no high temperature at all. Then it was just like a mild head cold, just sinuses, no cough or sore throat. But a very bad headache throughout.

DockOTheBay · 20/01/2022 22:39

In the last month or so I know of the following in my circles:
Teen, 1 Jab, no symptoms
Teen, 1 jab, headache for 1 day
Teen no jab, Mild cold
5 year old, no jab, mild cold
5 year old, no jab, no symptoms
Adult male triple jab, no symptoms
Adult male double jab, sore throat

Dontjumptoconclusions · 20/01/2022 22:54

Triple vaxed, I had a runny nose for 3 days.

Daisy829 · 20/01/2022 22:58

Covid in the house atm. Presuming it’s the Omicron variant but don’t really know. No symptoms except slight snotty nose which isn’t an official symptom. I’m really surprised (& relieved) we’ve had it so mildly. I’m yet to get it though so there’s still time.

Somebodylikeus · 20/01/2022 23:52

Yeah I had no symptoms at all (only tested as a close contact). Not vaccinated either so not because of them.

loopylou3030 · 20/01/2022 23:57

I'm unjabbed had Delta and Omicron neither was bad. Didn't know I had Delta at the time. Omicron I had a back ache when lying down for a few nights and a blocked nose. No temperature and would have thought it was a mild cold if it wasn't for Covid being around and doing a test. The brain fog for a few days was the most annoying thing but luckily passed quickly. Husband double jabbed has a fever for one night and then mild cold symptoms for a week.

SaveThePennies · 20/01/2022 23:57

Had my booster just over 3 weeks before catching covid. Still ill 2 weeks post symptoms starting. It's absolutely wiped me out - no underlying conditions. I assumed it'd be a mild cold but I completely underrated it!

MummyInTheNecropolis · 20/01/2022 23:58

I tested positive Sunday with no symptoms. Monday and Tuesday I had a runny nose and was a bit tired and achey. Yesterday slightly runny nose but otherwise fine. Today I’m back to normal. I’m triple jabbed. Tomorrow is day 5 but I’ve just tested a day early and it’s now negative. DD (16) isn’t vaccinated at all and she hasn’t caught it (negative LFT every day) despite us being in close contact.

Youarefakenews · 21/01/2022 00:00

Non vaccinated, had original Virus and felt a bit flu like for 3 days. Had Omicron just before Christmas and just felt a bit under the weather for a day or two.

HerRoyalNotness · 21/01/2022 00:02

Triple jabbed - lots of sneezing, 2 days of headaches, runny nose, slight cough and a little phlegm, sick for a week
Double jabbed - no symptoms
Double jabbed - bad cough, productive, fatigued, sick for 2 weeks
Single jab - cough, headache, slight loss of taste, sick for a week
No jabs - 1 afternoon fever, small cough, lasted 2 days

Wnkingawalrus · 21/01/2022 00:07

Me - slight tickle throat for 1 evening, slight cough for half a day, no fever or aches, no runny nose. Tested negative by day 5. Boosted.
OH - exactly the same.
DC1 - mild fever and headache for 2 days. Unvaccinated. Tested negative by day 5.

For me and OH it was significantly milder than any cold we’ve ever had.

123feraverto · 21/01/2022 00:10

I had stuffy nose , sore throat/hoarse voice and a headache

Was mild - was assuming I just had a cold as all LFT were negative and I did a PCR when symptoms first started and that was negative

NorthSouthcatlady · 21/01/2022 00:12

Meeee. I felt a little tired and hot but that was it really. Super mild. But l had delta before and double jabbed so that’s why probably

KaiKanWhenever · 21/01/2022 00:22

Non vaccinated, had original virus and felt a bit flu like for 3 days. Had Omicron just before Christmas and felt a bit under the weather for a day or two.

This! Me and DH are triple jabbed, DS is double jabbed and DD is single jabbed, but we're done with vaccinations now.

Since March 2020 I've only known one person who had serious Covid symptoms, so I don't really see the point in us getting jabbed again.

Wanderingowl · 21/01/2022 00:25

Triple jabbed. Main symptom has been a headache, every second day for around 12 days now. I felt that shitty fluey feeling for the first two days, of just being achey and the cycle of feeling too hot then too cold, with a cough. Then I had two days of sneezes and eye watering. I feel wiped out though. My muscles feel like jelly from the combination of being sick and lack of exercise. I'm normally really active and fit but had taken it easy over Christmas and was just getting back into my exercise routine when I got sick. Unvaccinated DS 9 still has it but he's fine. Had worse colds earlier this year.

Wanderingowl · 21/01/2022 00:31

Oh and I had 'long Covid' back in 2020. Very mild initial illness, just difficulty breathing when moving around but fine as long as I was just watching tv or reading and no appetite. But a few days after I seemed to recover I developed a host of inflammatory problems, pleurisy, costochondritis, thyroiditis among others, I was practically bedridden 22 hours a day for 3 months, then had issues for another 6.
