Anyone actually have omricon covid mild?

2boysand1princess · 20/01/2022 19:28

So many friends and family ill with it now. To my shock all have had 3-4 days of fever and sever aches and pain. Only know 3 people who have had it very mild (no high fever or aches etc)
My DH had it very mild (mild sore throat) but he is triple jabbed. My other colleagues and friends had quite a rough time with it and none are triple jabbed just double.
Would be interesting to hear of other omricon experiences

My DM, nearly 80. A few days with a cough and a sniffly nose and that was it. No idea if it was Omicron though, although I suspect it was.

tigger1001 · 20/01/2022 20:03

We have just had it. Oh had flu like symptoms for 3-4 days. Youngest was under the weather for a day and I had mild cold symptoms.

maya71 · 20/01/2022 20:04

One day with a runny nose and feeling slightly under the weather. I am triple jabbed and have had covid previously so I expect that explains it.

CathyorClaire · 20/01/2022 20:07

Triple jabbed,no symptoms dh tested positve NYE. Negative on day 6&7. I didn't catch it despite being with him for a near continuous 48 hours beforehand..

Apparently he had just a bit of throat gunk and slightly 'off' feeling. TBH I've had worse colds.

TLKlover · 20/01/2022 20:10

Daughter (14) had it, had 1st jab in October...was due 2nd jab weekend just gone.
Headache, nauseous & shaky 1st day
Tired & dizzy 2nd & 3rd day
Every day after just fatigued until day 5. Tested negative day 6&7 back to school on day 8.

None of the rest of immediate family got it. It's puzzled us tbh.

Chocomelon · 20/01/2022 20:10

I don't know if I had the omicron variation but had covid and it was mild - sore throat followed by cold symptoms (runny nose and sinus pain), cough, some tiredness

No aches or fever

I would say it was mild cold symptoms

germsandcoffee · 20/01/2022 20:14

My 7 year old has it now and absolutely has no symptoms except her orange juice tasted off 🤣

zebrarobot · 20/01/2022 20:18

Im double vaxxed and have it now. Symptoms started yesterday after ds tested positive on Monday. He had a raging fever, bad cough, sore throat and headache. Hes only 4 so I was worried but pretty much back to his normal self bar a cough and slight lack of appetite.
Since yesterday Ive had a lingering headache, stuffy runny nose, scratchy throat, today a cough and tightness in my chest. Went for pcr but also did lft and it was positive so I assume pcr will be too.
Feeling a bit rough but have been in isolation since Monday with 3 kids so that hasnt helped...

Marmunia999 · 20/01/2022 20:21

I had the original with just three nights of sweats. Have Covid nails so have had it recently too without knowing. Totally vaccine-free. It seems most people who are double and triple jabbed are falling victim.

shivabeaver · 20/01/2022 20:23

Ds2 (12) has just had it, none of the rest of us tested positive, he was pretty much fine, if he hadn't had a positive test would have sent him to school. Sore throat a couple of days, very sporadic cough. Ds1 tested daily (desperate to be off school Hmm) but nothing.

Dinoboymama · 20/01/2022 20:25

My 2 dc 11 and 3 had a fever for a few hours and then were fine. I had a temperature for 2 days and a blocked nose.
The blocked nose bothered me most.

My other dc had the delta varient with my husband before ormicon came and they have worst symptoms and more prolonged my dh had a temperature for over a week and was fully vaccinated.

AuntHilda · 20/01/2022 20:30

I tested positive on Tuesday, triple jabbed. Bit achey Tuesday, yesterday really achey, feverish, headache, exhausted, brain fog but slept loads and today just bunged up and tired. And I'm CV. I agree that so far I've had worse colds although i wouldn't have been able to go into work yesterday.

PanettoneMoly · 20/01/2022 20:37

Double jabbed DH had ‘suspected omicron’ early December, 2 days of alternating sweats/chills and generally feeling a bit under the weather. I’m triple jabbed, didn’t catch it.

Fast forward to Boxing Day when we both developed what I can only assume was flu and it hit like a ton of bricks for 3 weeks - feverish, night sweats, headache, cough, terrible congestion & runny nose. Definitely wasn’t covid as DH ended up in hospital for 3 days with viral myocarditis and was PCR tested multiple times.

redandwhite1 · 20/01/2022 20:40

My 7 year old currently has it and has zero symptoms (other than a fake blocked up nose that started about 5 mins after finding out)

It's actually frustrating as he's bouncing off the walls and I can't believe I have to keep him in for 3 more days arghhhhhh!!

altmember · 20/01/2022 20:43

My daughter (12, single jabbed) just had it with pretty much no symptoms at all. Son (10, no vax) felt sick and slept solid for 3 days, another couple of days before he would eat, and then he started coughing. Youngest son (8, no vax), no symptoms at all.
Me (triple jabbed), two days since testing positive, a headache and feeling a bit groggy, like a mild hangover so far.

Londontown12 · 20/01/2022 20:44

3 full doses of vaccine tickly throat no aches no headache not even like a cold tbh ! Hubbi was very ill 😷 but ok within 4 days ! Both kids no symptoms! Fully vaccinated they all r !

salemcat · 20/01/2022 20:44

Day 3 of feeling ike death, ache/pains/temp/chills etc

trevthecat · 20/01/2022 20:47

I am triple jabbed. My youngest tested positive today. I'm testing negative but have symptoms. Feel awful. Banging head, temp, everything tastes of salt! I'm knackered, already in bed which is unlike me.

Sloughsabigplace · 20/01/2022 20:50

me, dh and 19 year old dd all had it, all unvaccinated (well, I had one and an adverse reaction).

For all of us, it was just a blocked nose for a week. I had one horrible day on say 5 when I was just exhausted and had to go and lay in a dark room from 6pm, but my 17 month old gave up on sleep a few weeks ago and only wants me when she wakes, so it all got on top of me.

HairyScaryMonster · 20/01/2022 20:51

I had 4 days of feeling proper poorly and a week of feeling fatigued and ropey.

gogohm · 20/01/2022 20:55

I had the original covid very mildly

XiCi · 20/01/2022 21:00

I thought everyone had Omicrom mild, that it was much milder than previous variants. Its just done the rounds of my mum and dad's friends, all 70/80s and had nothing more than a sniffle. My mum & dad with underlying health conditions and in their 80s wouldn't have known they had it only they were tested as part of the ONS survey

shivabeaver · 20/01/2022 21:07

This thread has made me do another test haha, negative. Ds2's test was ike a pregnancy test when you are 8 weeks gone, the test line came up before the control line.

Hope90x · 20/01/2022 21:10

Had original COVID December 2020, mild cold symptoms with a loss of taste and smell.
At present all but one of my work colleagues have got it, 10 of us in a large office, except myself and "the boss". 9 fully vaxed and 8 boosted. I am the exception with no vaccines and no current covid despite close contact.
All describe mild cold symptoms and thankfully (for me) have been able to continue WFH whilst isolating.
I'm thinking I have antibodies from my previous infection as I can't explain otherwise.

MissOrganisedMe · 20/01/2022 21:11

Triple jabbed. No symptoms at all. Picked it up on an LFT. Testing negative by day 5.

DD tested positive 2 days later. Temp for 24 hours. Then fine. Unvaccinated. Also negative from day 5.

DH tested positive 6 days later. Suffering more and still testing positive. Also triple jabbed.
