Anyone know when children 5yr+ meeting the green book criteria are likely to be able to book in for vaccination please?
JCVI recommended on the 23rd Dec. Are we just waiting for Government to sign off on it?

I refused as she had covid in November and me and her sister (who is non vulnerable) were brought to our knees we have never been so poorly and she had a bit of a head ache.

This is the same child who is often hospitalised with the common cold. So I don't think it is necessary abs don't want to give her a vaccine that she doesn't need when the risk of myocarditis outweighs the benefits.

Covidworries · 02/02/2022 09:45

@rainbowdashsneeze

Thank you
Glad she wasn't ill in November

newchance2 · 02/02/2022 16:58

My 9 yo was invited (London) and I declined. He’s as healthy as can be, never missed a day of school. Attended the school throughout the pandemic, was exposed multiple times to covid, never had any symptoms. He’s got a mild condition for which he doesn’t even need a follow up or adjustment. I’m fully vaccinated incl booster but I won’t let anyone come to my perfectly healthy happy child with this. I didn’t know my child was “vulnerable” until now.

elliejjtiny · 02/02/2022 21:58

Can I ask what condition your ds has @newchance2? Just curious as I'm finding it difficult to understand who is classed as vulnerable for this and who isn't. My ds1 was entitled to a 2nd covid jab because he is classed as vulnerable (he has aspergers syndrome) although by the time it was 8 weeks after his first jab they were recommending all children his age have 2 jabs anyway.

enterparentone · 02/02/2022 23:02

@newchance2 @Hm2020 if in London, would you mind pm-ing me to let me know where in case I can take DD there pls? Thx

Montecristocount · 03/02/2022 13:44

I’m in the north west for the poster who asked.

We're jabbed!!
That's great news!!
flapjackfairy · 10/02/2022 13:40

my son is getting his first jab today after pestering the vacine clinic and gp for weeks.
Not a moment too soon considering all restrictions are being chucked out the window. I really feel like vulnerable children have been completely forgotten about during this whole pandemic putting families under incredible amounts of stress as they try to protect their children. Shameful tbh

I totally agree. I was at least hoping that they would allow all vulnerable 5-11 year olds to be fully vaccinated before removing isolation. After all, it's not us saying they're vulnerable, it's the experts!!
ButWhereDidTheWindComeFrom · 10/02/2022 14:21

agree agree agree.

I am desperate for mine to be vaxxed. But as I said on another thread when I spoke with his consultant last week he told me that the vaccine hub sorting out ours locally have not yet decided if Gps are doing it or the vaccine centres and have not yet asked the Gps to compile a list of candidates yet. About 2 weeks ago i rang my GP to ask about it and they claimed they had never even heard the CEV 5-11s were going to be jabbed. Hmm

I feel like CEV kids have been chucked under the bus, and the ending of all restrictions means that BJ genuinely does not give a fuck about anything but his own arse. (Before that I was on the side of him being shambolic but generally well-meaning. I know, naive).

🎉
Zebee · 10/02/2022 16:45

Not been jabbed yet but have persuaded gp to write a letter that he is eligible and found a walk in for 5-11 at the weekend. Worth looking for a walk-in as there are a few around if you search and might be one near(ish) you.

paradyning · 10/02/2022 16:54

Agree. BoJo does not give a fuck.

great idea!

I am so so so pleased for everyone that has managed to get their Dcs jabbed. Makes me feel quite emotional. Thanks

BooksAndHooks · 10/02/2022 18:03

We had our letter this week. Heard nothing from GP who rudely told me today it’s all walk in clinics so they don’t send invitations out anymore. Going to take her on Saturday morning for the 5-11 slot.

paradyning · 10/02/2022 19:35

Hoping for good news from everyone else soon x

I got a text this afternoon at 6pm inviting DD to a vaccination appointment tomorrow in London (50 miles away). We have plans tomorrow - you better believe we cancelled our plans 😂😂😂

It's because she is registered with a big London hospital, we know she will be invited locally eventually but no word on when and we cannot wait.

Zebee · 12/02/2022 16:11

Happily DS now had his first dose, fantastic walk in at Alder Hey.

Littlepic · 30/03/2022 12:26

Can anyone help? My two children are eligible for the vaccine due to husband who is CEV. We have had confirmation letter from GP and were offered a date for the vaccine, which unfortunately we could not attend due to being out of the country.
Since then we have chased and chased and been passed back and forth better national booking service and GP. GP says they are no longer doing vaccines and booking service saying they are not eligible on their system!
I really want vaccines for my children, can anyone help?
Thank you

paradyning · 30/03/2022 18:35

If they are older than 5 then the general population can be vaccinated from next week I think
