Hi all, PCR sent in post Weds @ 5.30pm - still no result. Bit worried as email said test already registered so haven't completed that step. Anyone else had this? Usually had results back just over 24 hours later, appreciate its super busy at the moment. We are in London.

BIL and SIL had their tests at 9am yesterday and had their results first thing today. DH went at 12 yesterday and I went at 1.30 yesterday and still waiting, yesterday I was prepared for a 3 day wait or so but I've now got my hopes up so I'm hoping we'll hear back today. We're all West Midlands/South Staffordshire.

Helptonight · 31/12/2021 09:37

@mummyh2016 fingera crossed you will hear soon. I am worried that I should have registered it but email advised it wasn't necessary

I had a postal one before Christmas where it said I didn't need to register it, the result came back fine so it's not a problem with not registering. We posted one for DC3 Wednesday pm and are also still waiting, I'm assuming it'll be at least another day given how busy they are at the moment.

Helptonight · 31/12/2021 09:42

@CrabbyCat thanks for the reassurance, appreciate it is v busy in certain areas of the country

Had ours at 2pm yesterday and got the (negative) result at 7am this morning

JammyRedRooo · 31/12/2021 09:43

I did one last Wednesday at 9am and had the results 8pm on the Thursday. I had to take a couple in the summer too and the results were always back in less than 24 hours, think it's just crazy busy at the moment.

Helptonight · 31/12/2021 09:45

Can i ask are these all postal or walk in tests? Mine was postal

@Helptonight I had to do a postal in September. Posted 8am Monday and didn’t get the results until 1am Thursday 😳 we’re in Scotland. Postal always seems to be much longer than walk-in in my experience

Helptonight · 31/12/2021 09:52

Thanks all, just needed a bit of reassurance! Proper panicking that it hasn't been registered and I'm sitting here like a lemon waiting for something that's not been done correctly! I mean it could still be lost but hopefully I've done everything right Grin

I've had to do postal PCR's three times over the last few weeks for DS, DH and DD. They all took 4-5 days to come back. Very frustrating but totally understandable.

mamatro · 31/12/2021 10:38

I posted my PCR at lunchtime Wednesday, just had my results at 9.30 this morning

Salamander91 · 31/12/2021 10:53

When is the last collection for your post box? If you posted it at 5.30 it might not have been collected until yesterday. If you took a note of the tracking number you can see if it's been collected/delivered yet. We posted one yesterday and it was delivered this morning. I'm expecting a couple of days for results still though with how busy it is.

SmallestInTheClass · 31/12/2021 11:27

Postal test sent on 29th, result back at 10pm on 30th. North West. Previous one took four days, but that was over Christmas Weeknd.

BertiesShoes · 31/12/2021 11:30

Anyone been to or worked at a walk-in clinic recently? Are the tests administered differently to a “booked on-line test centre”?

DD went 9am yesterday, the leaflet she brought home said it was a home test, had a sticker with a barcode/no on it.

No result as yet, just wondered if the results from walk-in clinics will be slower than from a clinic administering pre booked tests?

BertiesShoes · 31/12/2021 11:32

We are in North West too, although bordering Staffs / W Midlands.

KeepingOnKeepingUp · 31/12/2021 11:32

3pm yesterday, results back at 7am (one +ve, one -ve)

mummyh2016 · 31/12/2021 11:32

Just had my results (negative), tested at 1.30pm yesterday and came through an hour ago so 21 hours. I waited longer than that for DD last summer so I'm pleased! DH is still waiting despite going for his before me.

lljkk · 31/12/2021 11:45

Private (paid for). Test about 12:30pm, same day result at 11:30pm.

BertiesShoes · 31/12/2021 11:54

@lljkk

do you mind me asking where/who you booked your private one through?

If we need any more then we might go that route given the wait for DD result from yesterday morning.

Boofay · 31/12/2021 12:17

Four postal tests posted about 3:30pm on Wednesday and still waiting for the results. Three tests all registered fine, the fourth said it was already registered.
I'm sure they're just snowed under with tests to process.

Sparklingwaterforme · 31/12/2021 12:22

Postal test sent back at 330 on weds and results came through 10pm last night. That was by email, the text didn't come through til 620 this morning!

DrunkenKoala · 31/12/2021 12:56

Tested yesterday 10am, at a drive through in South East London, received results this morning at 7am - negative.

lljkk · 31/12/2021 16:57

Private test was with Randox, drive thru at Stansted. Collinson is working same sites maybe. Moneysavingexpert runs a great page on best places to great private covid tests.

lljkk · 31/12/2021 16:58

ps: adult DD did walk in PCR with Randox in London, near Kings X. Also took test about 1pm & got results late last night.

shitonit2020 · 31/12/2021 17:40

Test 8.30am Wednesday morning. Still waiting. West mids.
