Pcr - how long are you waiting for results at the moment?

Hi all, PCR sent in post Weds @ 5.30pm - still no result. Bit worried as email said test already registered so haven't completed that step. Anyone else had this? Usually had results back just over 24 hours later, appreciate its super busy at the moment. We are in London.

I posted our PCRs Wednesday afternoon and got one result 3am this morning and the second at 7am (negative thankfully!)

I posted on Tuesday lunchtime and still waiting. I rang 119 today as I have had negative LFD tests on day 6 and day 7 and wasn’t sure what to do. They advised posted ones are taking up to 96 hours/4 days to get results. I didn’t realise postal ones took much longer otherwise I would have done drive through.

Sent 2 yesterday one came back this morning as void other one no result yet.

Walk in test yesterday lunchtime, had one result back at lunch today, still waiting on DPs even though they were done at the same time 🤷🏻‍♀️

Drive through site at 4.30pm yesterday.

Result at 1pm today.

I had to get another test today, at 2.30pm, hoping for a similar turnaround time.

@shitonit2020 was your test a postal one, walk-in, or pre-booked?

My DD had walk-in at 9am yesterday, nothing back yet. Interesting that other walk-ins from yesterday are still not back.

Think we will ring 119 if we get to 48hrs and not heard.

Yes walk in. Mate went for a drive through ten mins away and got results within 18 hours!

BIL did one at a drive through test centre and had the results in 2 hours the other day.

Not sure if it was an error as it seemed very quick!

My dd did a walk through at 10am yesterday, got the result at noon today. We are in London.

They won’t chase until 72 hours so don’t bother please.

I wonder if Walk in are being treated like home tests? Certainly the leaflet my DD got stated ‘home test’.

We are S Cheshire so our tests could well be sent to a W Mids lab like yours!

I did ring 119 today to chase. They couldn’t have been more helpful and apologetic. Test is registered so that’s one thing! I only had one as I had a very faint line on one lateral flow and feel a bit tired!

Thanks all, neg result received at 1.30pm today. Had covid in summer and all symptoms (except cough) again now. Apparently lots of viruses about. Hope everyone with pos results get well soon

119 are now chasing my results as it’s been over 72 hours. They were so helpful so may be worth a shot if still waiting.

It doesn’t exactly encourage people to be tested does it, if they have to wait days for a result. First one we have ever done, can’t believe we are waiting so long when others are back within hours!

North West. PCR done at 11am Monday and results back just after 8am Tuesday so around 21 hours. I'm now 7 says into Covid and feeling much better today.

Just come back. Negative. Moral of story - never trust a lateral flow that’s over the time limit!
