How did you feel after the booster? I've been putting it off because I'm scared but I know to travel again I'm going to have to get it done

I had AZ for first two jabs and was sick for a fortnight- absolute bone grinding fatigue and breathlessness- with first jab, nothing with second. Had Moderna as my booster and was only sick for 48-60 hours or so- shivering and headaches. Good luck.

Saynotopineappleonpizza2021 · 29/12/2021 20:56

Its the heart palpitations that I hated and don't want again as they lingeres, the fever etc I can handle

I felt awful after my second Moderna jab. It took me about a week to feel properly OK. Had Moderna for my booster too. This time I felt rough for a couple of days but nowhere near as bad.

Mangofandangoo · 29/12/2021 20:57

Phizer 1&2 okay, slight fever. Moderna booster knocked me down I'm sorry to say

INeedtobealone · 29/12/2021 20:58

I had Moderna last week. 24 hours later felt tired and aches but took some paracetamol and went to bed early and was fine the next day. Arm a bit sore for a few days.

Dh had Moderna, no affects but a sore arm.

Theunamedcat · 29/12/2021 20:58

I had Pfizer as a booster I felt tired then found out I had covid but I've been OK with it I reacted really badly to my first two (AZ) so apparently I haven't reacted as badly to this because a bad reaction and covid would be the worst!

Saynotopineappleonpizza2021 · 29/12/2021 20:59

Thank you all - seems hit and miss then

Following this as I'm in the same boat. Had moderna and felt awful after the second dose. I have my booster next week and I'm petrified

countdowntonap · 29/12/2021 21:06

Wish I hadn’t had my booster.
I had no side effects from my first two Moderna jabs, but my Pfizer booster has left me with awful pain and swelling in the lymph nodes in my arm pit - can’t describe how painful it is!

MrsHippopotamus · 29/12/2021 21:07

Had Moderna booster yesterday. Slept terribly last night. Arm and shoulder blade is absolutely killing me. Swelling in arm. Felt really spaced out all day. Sat with hot water bottle.

Hoping they won’t announce a 4th as I’m not sure I’ll do another.

Saynotopineappleonpizza2021 · 29/12/2021 21:16

Oh blimey I was hoping a pfizer booster might be better but sounds like I might be wrong

Ohhh I can't believe it but I'm actually more scared of the booster than covid itself!!

I had 2 x Moderna, then Moderna booster. Felt awful after the second, but absolutely fine after the booster - painful armpit but that's it. The Moderna booster is a half dose so you hopefully won't have the same side effects as the second vaccine.

booboo2022 · 29/12/2021 21:25

I had AZ for both jabs and was fine, had moderna for booster. My arm came up in a massive lump and was agony to touch for about 4 days. Then developed pericarditis a couple of days later. I will never have moderna again.

foxgoosefinch · 29/12/2021 21:28

I had a Moderna booster and was unwell for about 4 days with headache, fatigue, etc. About 8 days later I tested positive and I can barely feel it (the symptoms are like much milder versions of the post-booster reaction). My viral load is really low. I reckon the booster reaction has generated some pretty powerful antibodies and made me much better able to cope with the actual thing - I’m really glad I had it!

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 29/12/2021 21:34

I’ve had three x Moderna.

Jab 1 - very sore arm the next day, otherwise fine.

Jab 2 - felt a bit hungover (I wasn’t!) the next day. Was a really quiet day at work (WFH) so I logged on, did some emails, then went back to bed for a bit. Felt fine by the afternoon. I would have been able to muddle through the morning if I had had stuff in the calendar but I had deliberately shifted things about just in case.

Booster - felt absolutely awful the next day. Definitely couldn’t have even played at working, and luckily it was a Sunday. Spent the whole day in bed, then felt a bit “off” for the next few days.

My DP had 2 x Pfizer, Moderna booster. He was tired after the Pfizers, properly rough after the booster but managed to work, then took himself off to bed about 6pm.

I’m on day 11 post vaccine and had such severe stabbing pain on the left had side of my chest today that my GP phoned for an ambulance. I’ve had this pain for the past 5 days but today it was just unbearable and I was getting really scared. The ambulance took two and a half hours to arrive and then I had to go to A and E for two blood to find out whether I’d had a heart attack. My heart if fine but my lymph nodes under arm are extremely swollen. This is 11 days post vaccine.

Initially I had AZ and was extremely unwell for about 10 hours post vaccine and then wad fine. Second AZ barely no side effects. Moderna booster I’m never having another one again. The cardiologist at the hospital said we don’t really know enough about these vaccines and their side effects! I think that says it all.

AchillesLastStand · 29/12/2021 21:46

Think ill hold off the booster for a while longer, thanks all!

Toottooot · 29/12/2021 21:48

Had Moderna for all 3. First jaggie only a sore arm, second fatigued a few hours after the jaggie then no issues with booster.

Artichokeleaves · 29/12/2021 21:51

Pfizer for one and two, sore arm for the first, nothing at all for the second. Moderna booster, achy and felt grotty the rest of that day, but by the following day was fine.

countdowntonap · 29/12/2021 22:04

Ohhh I can't believe it but I'm actually more scared of the booster than covid itself!!

To add to my post above, this is how I now feel about the prospect of a second booster.

emailaddressplease · 29/12/2021 22:25

I had AZ first two jabs. No side effects except tiredness and sore arm for a day.

Had Pzfier for my booster early December and had no side effects at all. Not even a sore arm.

Interesting! I had a lump appear in my collar bone/neck and doctor said it was a lymph node and could be caused by the vaccine. Anyway. Next day realised I have a tooth abscess so not sure if it's because of the infection or the abscess. Lymph node still up nearly a month on..

I meant injection.*
