Dizzy and weak

Cissyandflora · 28/12/2021 20:56

I wonder if anyone can help me. I feel so dizzy and weak. I was positive for covid about 12 days ago now. Didn’t have many symptoms apart from dizziness and some strange mental health phenomena. Today I’m feeling so bad that I’ve had to take myself to bed and leave the children in charge of the house. I’m feeling very strange. Very worried too.

Thank you. Actually I still haven’t spoken to a dr. I will try again now

Any updates on how you are feeling? Hope you’re ok.

Cissyandflora · 29/12/2021 21:14

I’m at a and e. Thank you for asking. I phoned 111 last night. Then gp today and dr said go to a and e. I’m not sure whether to wait though because it will be a few more hours and I’ve been here a long while already. Not sure what to think.

Stay until you are seen @Cissyandflora.
I was hospitalised with covid and one of the worst symptoms was the dizziness and inability to think in a straight line.

Has anyone checked your oxygen levels? Shortage of oxygen can do all that to you. Often with covid when you're not not obviously short of breath.

Cissyandflora · 29/12/2021 22:27

Thank you. Yes the triage nurse said my oxygen was good. I feel I’m wasting their time because it’s very busy. But I’ll wait. I’ve been here 3 hours now

OP posts:
Cissyandflora · 29/12/2021 22:28

@CatAlice the strange thing is that I had No cough or cold or normal covid symptoms. I’m unsure what this is. Could be stress. I just feel confused

I am waiting for results now. Had blood tests. Chest X-ray and ECG. It’s been really scary. My children are at home alone and it’s frightening. I’m hoping for good news. The dr said if the tests are ok he will let me go home. I hadn’t thought they would be worried about me at all. Dr said my heart was fast.

I’ve been here nearly 5 hours now

Hi op
Keep your chin up - your in the best place xx

savagebaggagemaster · 30/12/2021 00:33

I hope you're ok, OP. Thanks

Cissyandflora · 30/12/2021 00:37

Thanks so much. I’ve left my children at home. I would not normally leave them alone like this. It’s going to be very late when I get back. I’m going to be so hugely relieved if they let me out of here. I’m hopeful.

The doctor was quite worried and I hadn’t expected it. He did say if my results are ok then I’ll be able to go home. I’m hoping and praying.

Hi Op, I hope you get sorted soon. I've got dizziness with covid and it's very disturbing. I tend to get it with any virus - weak ears! When I get it, I also get really odd dreams which make me unsettled. It goes away once I'm over the virus. Hope you are on the mend soon Smile

Cissyandflora · 30/12/2021 00:54

@dinkydoodah thank you. Hopefully I can go home soon. I’m worried

I’m home from hospital and so relieved. Dr thinks it’s post viral fatigue. Who knows. My heart was fast and I’m breathless but so massively relieved that I’m ok and I’m home with my children. Thinking of others who are not well and who are struggling just now.

Hi OP
I haven’t had Covid recently (that I know of) but had the exact symptoms you describe.
Feeling very dizzy, very weak (going it hard to get up) had tinnitus and a glue-y ear. I think it is a virus as I feel much better now.
Lasted on and off for about a week but did get gradually better over that time.

Tryagainplease · 30/12/2021 09:01

I’m very sorry OP, I posted before I saw your update. I hope you are feeling better Flowers

Thank you. It’s all been really weird. I was so relieved that I was able to leave the hospital last night. I’m still feeling a bit shocked about it all. I’m just sitting with a coffee feeling very blessed to be home with my dear children playing upstairs. I feel quite fragile.

So glad you're at home now and feeling a bit better. I get the strange noises/feelings in my ears, like a butterfly is stuck in there, when I'm feeling particularly stressed and my blood pressure is up. I've had so many friends who have had bad covid symptoms, and the main thing is not to rush your recovery. All the ones who pushed through the fatigue and discomfort to soldier on at work or at home have ended up feeling ill for a lot longer.

If you're out of isolation now is there anyone who could come and keep you company, sort you out with some tea & biscuits or take the kids out for a bit? Sounds like you need a week on the sofa! Flowers

No I don’t have any help. I’ve asked the oldest child to help me a bit though so that’s been a help.

Oh dear! Well make sure you rest up as much as you can - the housework can wait and I'm sure the kids can survive on oven-ready stuff for a couple of weeks. Hope you're feeling brighter soon Flowers

Cissyandflora · 31/12/2021 00:39

Thank you I’m feeling a lot better today. I plan on getting in some ready meals tomorrow and really taking it easy. At least until schools are back and work has to start up.

Don't go back to work unless you are totally recovered. As already said here those l know who thought they would push through ended up taking longer to recover and making life harder for themselves. Concentrate on rest and eating well. I was advised to eat lots of blueberries, drink loads of water and take a good multi vitamin.
Mind yourself

dinkydoodah · 31/12/2021 20:39

@Cissyandflora
So glad you got home safe from the hospital. Hope you are feeling a bit better tonight. I have still got weakness and dizziness although the cold symptoms have lessened. I'm no worse though so fingers crossed for us all 🤞

Thank you very much for the advice. I’m really weak again. I’m just going to make a vitamin drink if I can get off the sofa!
