Does this look like a genuine LFT taken within the time frame? I've never seen a positive one in real life to know myself

I suspect it has the name exactly as he entered it on the PCR booking form. He sounds like the type not to bother with capitals, so I'm not surprised.

OP I don’t know if helpful but I’ve just looked back at older result text messages and the bit about keeping your app up to date etc is on there (July 2021) but isn’t on my more recent messages.
Could it be an old message that has been amended?
The lateral flow looks old and very dry to me.

That is not a PCR test message. That's the message you get when you self report a positive lateral flow test which anyone can do.

The PCR one clearly says PCR in it.
I know because I've been getting all the messages for 6 people in my family who are positive.

He hasn't done a PCR test yet- he wouldn't have the results so quickly- so if he's claiming that is a PCR test message he is lying.

@Sux2Buthen that message is for when someone registers a pos lft , which anyone can do even if the test is negative. You just have to enter the code from the test and tick positive.

To update, I've been sent this. This seems legit doesn't it? I've never had any covid notifications but this seems right? If he was telling the truth it's the first time so I don't feel bad

That's the notification you get when you input a positive result for a LFT. The text that MummysGone had is when you have a positive PCR.

He's getting cleverer but not as clever as you lot or as suspicious as me

He'd ditch them at his mums without hesitation. I was 3 minutes late picking up (first time ever in a year and a half) I had 3 missed calls and texts saying OMG! SUX! WHERE ARE YOU ?!

Tap water, it appears to be a feature of that style of test to produce grey lines on both the control and test sections. The think control line doesn't look right.

We had positive results that looked like that. Most had a pink line but some were fainter and greyer. 🤷🏻‍♀️
