Does this look like a genuine LFT taken within the time frame? I've never seen a positive one in real life to know myself

@WasgijGods i forgot you can fake them that way.
Yes, PCR results including a WhatsApp from the nhs (🤦🏻‍♀️) filled with autocorrects
And a text with bad editing of the word positive over the negative and that he hadn't changed to safety info at the end. It was embarrassing to read

If he is so low as to do that the children are better off with you xFlowers

Motorina · 28/12/2021 20:44

I have an old one knocking around in the car. The surface looks dried out and rough, just like that.

I say fake.

Sux2Buthen · 28/12/2021 20:46

@Idontlikeworms Thankyou Thanksit's been rubbish for ages and contact was stopped.
But he begged and they really wanted to see him for Xmas.
Their shoes and coats were on to leave when this appeared in my messages.
It's all a bit outing if he sees it but he knows he's a deadbeat so it is what it is

It looks like an old test to me

Theunamedcat · 28/12/2021 20:52

A WhatsApp from the NHS? sounds like he wants to be busted

I would say

Thanks for that in future I would prefer you to tell me straight that you don't want to see the child/children today rather than go through this elaborate charade

Also tell me early enough so the children arnt actually in there coats to minimise the distress would be kinder

Sux2Buthen · 28/12/2021 23:32

If anything I could say would have any impact I'd say it to him but it's like trying to reason with a brick.
Except a brick is more caring

I have one of these honestly it's exhausting when he is on one the kids got suspected covid March 2020 he and girlfriend had "confirmed" covid told me the ambulance people said they couldn't share a bed or use the kitchen or common areas at the same time they had to clean and ventilate after every use why? If they BOTH HAD COVID why would they be living separately in the same house? His family were driving PAST my house to his dropping off food parcels but they couldn't possibly help out there own grandchildren because they had preexisting medical conditions.....but? You have covid too? So could they not just drop me some milk off? While they were passing? Please? Oh no they don't want to get sick its ok for us because they have already been exposed to OUR STRAIN but they might catch YOUR STRAIN

It literally made zero sense but the expectation is that I believe him and I get exhausted telling him he is lying

Sux2Buthen · 29/12/2021 11:03

I think there are people that genuinely thrive on drama and causing misery.
I have let him know that as of now he will need to get a legal arrangement in place, I'm not being complicit in them being more hurt

OP posts:
JanglyBeads · 29/12/2021 11:20

@Watapalava that's not correct now, although was said at beginning of first lockdown - govt has clarified that child contact is NOT one of the listed legal reasons for breaking isolation.

CorsicaDreaming · 29/12/2021 12:11

It looks really dusty to me like someone's had it stuck in a drawer for a while...

unchienandalucia · 29/12/2021 15:02

Wow OP. That is really really low. Am so sorry.

TinyLittlePandaSneeze · 29/12/2021 15:24

If its fake then that is a real sick thing to do.

allofthecheese · 29/12/2021 15:27

I've had one look like this before. Same grey line. It was a faulty one or I might not have added enough liquid. Retook it and it was negative.

Sux2Buthen · 29/12/2021 15:53

Thank you, he's a real piece of work. I'm just used to thinking I might be wrong so I like to make sure

Sux2Buthen · 04/01/2022 13:48

To update, I've been sent this. This seems legit doesn't it? I've never had any covid notifications
but this seems right?
If he was telling the truth it's the first time so I don't feel bad

That message does look the same as the one I got the day after receiving a positive result. It had my name, birth date and test date above it on the same text.

Sux2Buthen · 04/01/2022 13:58

Yeah this one does too.
Boy who cried wolf, it's his own fault no one believed him

OP posts:
Sux2Buthen · 04/01/2022 14:05

Can I ask @sunflowerroses did the name on yours have capital letters?

OP posts:
Sux2Buthen · 04/01/2022 14:14

Has anyone else had this message? The name on this one has no capitals, no idea if that's relevant. Got a friend says it's fake but I'm not convinced

OP posts:
Elzbells · 04/01/2022 14:18

Mine had capital letters on the first letter of my name and surname

Mummysgonetobed · 04/01/2022 14:24

I got positive results last week and my text didn’t read like that….

Genuine?
Dontletthemuggglesgetyoudown · 04/01/2022 14:25

Is that a text or an email?

Sux2Buthen · 04/01/2022 14:29

I'm not sure. That's unhelpful I know, this has been passed to me by his mum. They've both faked them before but this one is more genuine looking.

OP posts:
Sux2Buthen · 04/01/2022 14:30

I'm not a detective but I can only find one similar online and that had capital letters and the date formats were typed differently.
I may be overthinking
