Has anyone actually tested negative on day 6 and 7?

My day 6 and 7 is Wednesday and Thursday. I tested a very strong immediate positive last week and now they’re very slow and faint but definitely positive still.

Missed out on Christmas Day and lots of family time with my toddler and partner. Really hoping I can get New Year’s Day with family.

Do faint positives mean the virus is sort of on its way out…? Has anyone tested negative on day 6/7?

Obviously no idea but suspected I has that new variant as symptoms have been a mild-moderate cold.

dh did - he only had one day of positive LFT and no symptoms though. I was negative by day 8.

Livelifeinthebuslane · 28/12/2021 17:37

DD negative on days 6 and 7

AntennaReborn · 28/12/2021 17:40

I was negative on day 6.

No idea which variant, but I was almost completely asymptomatic, other than a diminished sense of smell that came on several days after the positive PCR

Chanel05 · 28/12/2021 17:42

Nope

Snowraingain · 28/12/2021 17:46

DD on day 6 it’s positive but really faint. No symptoms since day 2

Very frustrating for her.

onemouseplace · 28/12/2021 17:46

Nope - still testing (faint) positive here on Day 9.

DD2 (patient zero) tested negative Days 6 and 7 which was naff all use to anyone as everyone else still testing positive so there was noone to take her out.

TippingPoint65218 · 28/12/2021 17:50

I tested positive day 6 (faint line) but 7 and 8 were negative. First day of freedom was today!

DH was negative 6 and 7. He had barely any symptoms at all. I have still got a lingering nuisance cough.

@SantaMonicaPier

As a related question do we need to report negative LTFs on day 6 and 7? Which are actually day 8 and 9 for me. I entered the first test result on the Gov website but it didn't send me a code to input into my Covid app
There's no need to report them anywhere. I know you're supposed to log LFT results anway but I don't know anyone who does, and in this situation no-one will be asking for proof.
SantaMonicaPier · 28/12/2021 17:52

Thank you!

woodlandarchitect · 28/12/2021 17:54

Yes both DC were negative on day 6

Plantsandpuddlesuits · 28/12/2021 17:54

When do you count the days from please? Is the day you get symptoms day 1 or day 0?

Plantsandpuddlesuits · 28/12/2021 17:55

Also if you are negative the morning of day 7 can you leave isolation then or does it have to be after midnight

The day symptoms start (or day of test if symptomless) is day 0.

I believe you can end isolation after your negative test on day 7. Day 7 is Thursday for my kids, so if they're negative tomorrow and Thursday we will be going out on Thursday!

Evza · 28/12/2021 18:01

Nope. Negative on day 6, but faint positive on day 7.

sofakingexhausted · 28/12/2021 18:03

@Plantsandpuddlesuits
I spoke to track and trace this morning, my symptoms started last Thursday and he said today was day 6 so I assume he's saying first day of symptoms is day 1, I've got to wait till my mum can bring me some LFTs tomorrow whilst I await the 2 boxes I ordered off gov.uk last week to be delivered so I know if im good to leave or not

VaccineSticker · 28/12/2021 18:07

My asymptotic child took 9 days to test negative recently.

SweatyTulip · 28/12/2021 18:37

So sad. Just re-done it and it's positive still. So I was neg on day 6 and positive on day 7 again. Asymptomatic. Means I've got to try for another one tomorrow, and then leave it another 24 hours to try for the second. Gutted.

SweatyTulip · 28/12/2021 18:37

What's the deal if your LFT is still showing as positive after 10 days? Would you continue to isolate until you got clear ones?

JoeMaplin · 28/12/2021 22:41

Yes a friend has tested neg on day 6 and 7.

MirandaWest · 28/12/2021 22:49

My sister was negative on day 6 and 7.

Niece was positive day 6 and negative days 7 and 8.

vickyc90 · 28/12/2021 22:53

Playing devils advocate but whats to stop people just saying they are negative?

littlefaith · 28/12/2021 22:53

DD was faintly positive on Day 6, then negative on Days 7 and 8

You are out of isolation at the end of the 10 days regardless. I still had a faint positive on day 12….
MajesticWhine · 28/12/2021 23:06

my day 6 is tomorrow, so hoping for a negative.
