Two days of positive lft

As the title says, I have had two lft tests over two days, waiting now for pcr result. My questions are:

1 what is the chance my pcr is negative

2 if pcr is negative, will it cancel out the isolation the lft has started?

3 How long has your postal test turnaround been? Mine is show as delivered at 9am this morning.

That’s so frustrating. When did your symptoms start as far as you can tell. I know you say that you have been feeling ill all December but is there a time you think it may have been coronavirus symptoms.

Sorry, my family and I are all using the same brand of tests (dd visits a care home) but it’s only me that had a positive.

This time it started with my voice completely going on Boxing Day, I have had the cough since Boxing Day night, first positive lft was Monday, pcr on same day negative ( I did lft as was meant to see a cev family member).

How many post lfts and negative pcr? Do you have symptoms? I'm wondering if these tests are picking up something else 🤔. I used the same tests for various things in the run up to Christmas with no issues.

I'd say your LFT is defo positive. Your symptoms sound the same as I had.

Fliowflex brand on the kits we have. Have tried using tests from a couple of different boxes. It's just me testing positive, my DD and DH are both testing negative.

DDs PCR came back positive late last night after DH and I received negatives at 11am yesterday.

My LFT today (photo) is positive again, DDs and DHs still negative.

No idea what's going on...

2 faint positives and 1 neg pcr - I’ve had a headache for a week now, was having sweating episodes , sniffles and generally sluggish.

These are mine over the last three days next to each other.

I suppose I'll just wait and see tomorrow.

Mine were quite faint , definitely not as dark as yours. This does seem to be happening more frequently recently.

I suppose I will just wait and see. It's definitely making me question getting tested though. I think if the pcr is negative again I will stop testing before events etc.

I’ve had four positive LFTs and a negative PCR! 🤷‍♀️ I’ve had classic Covid symptoms as well - so I have no idea what to make of it all.

It's really annoying when you try to do right throughout and then this!

I had a faint positive on Christmas day, no symptoms except I was sneezing a bit and full of snot, we just all did a test before meeting up with family. So cancelled family visit, dc and I went for pcr test as they were snotty too. All the pcrs came back as negative.

We finally had some more lateral flows delivered today, and were all negative. Not sure if my Christmas day lateral flow was a dud or if it just caught the tail end of a covid infection. Who knows?

I've seen the workings done a few times using different base rates of covid and it results in slightly different outcomes. In this one I've liked to, it's about 50/50 whether you've got covid with a negative lft and positive pcr.

That article is from October, shortly before the problem with the lab processing PCR tests was announced.

That resulted in 43,000 false negative tests.

I highly doubt that I’m not positive, because the chances of receiving four false positives on four consecutive days must be pretty infinitesimal I should think. Plus I have the full raft of omicron symptoms including the Covid cough. But I just wish I knew why the PCR was negative and whether there’s any reason whether it could be something else…?

I’ve been in my bedroom for four whole days now, only exiting intermittently to go to the bathroom; DD is upset she can’t see me, and I’m fucking bored and pissed off! Going by the PCR I could be out and about, but I don’t think it’s remotely responsible for me to do that both with symptoms and positive LFTs! Grrr.

It's so annoying, I'm awake coughing again! I bet my pcr is negative again! Which is good, but why are my lateral flows positive?? What are they picking up?

The nausea is something else. I have all them plus the cough and now my eyes are all gunky too!

I'm another one with dodgy tests after covid hit our house mid-dec and noticed some cold like symptoms:

23 dec pcr inconclusive /neg lft
24 dec neg lft
26 dec positive lft / inconclusive lft
27 dec positive lft
28 dec positive lft /negative pcr
Ran out of tests!

Vaxxed and boosted. Isolating until 2 jan just to make sure. Sleeping 18/24 hours and had the worst headache today!
