I will put my neck on line and say that covid will be over by 27th of March 2022.

😂😂 how do these people have all the inside info that’s what I’d like to know.

ToJabOrNotToJab · 26/12/2021 23:36

@RhubarbCustardy

No way. There's already reports of a major surge predicted for February.Sad
Where did you read this?

The modelled waves are below, top is cases, middle is admissions, bottom is deaths if we do nothing more and let it run its course. Obviously assumes we don't get a worse variant that out competes omicron

@AlmostAJillSandwich

I'll pass on the anal leakage if thats okay
Please don’t, I’d rather avoid that!
MaryAndHerNet · 26/12/2021 23:39

The main signs of anal leakage is:
Raised pressure in the buttock region.
Increased expulsion of Flatus
Wind smear on the moist gussets of underwear.
Symptoms typically strike after a dinner that's heavy on vegetables, especially sprouts.

Why the 27th March though and not the 26th or 29th.

And surely it will be like all the other diseases - polio, the plague etc they are still around and will never just disappear.

Imagine it's the date picked off for the line dropping below the cut off the government has set for restrictions (dotted line is the previous peak we know we can cope with).

@Sothisischristmus

So we’ll be wearing masks and teachers etc wearing masks for *another 3 years?!
I won’t. Unless another virulent and lethal strain comes along, I’m done. The fuss about omicron is completely disproportionate.
Ginandplatonic · 26/12/2021 23:53

I will NEVER accept anal leakage! 😂

Ninetiesweremyjam · 26/12/2021 23:57

Considering reporting some of these comments.

I was diagnosed with anal leakage a few years ago, it’s not a laughing matter.

My dad and some other members were also diagnosed, it runs in my jeans.

Wishfulthinking1977 · 26/12/2021 23:58

DB scientist based In data analysis has predicted to me summer next year? Purely based on the data programs governments use! Which doesn't include behavioural change, vaccination take up and drop of severity! Just numbers into a computer program! Exactly what all governments are using!

I read that as 'sperm' 😳

@LyndaSnellsSniff

I agree in the context that by late Spring people with Covid will no longer have to isolate IF they have been triple jabbed. Restrictions will apply to the unvaccinated only. This way we will achieve herd immunity, which is what the govt have been gunning for all along.
But the protection from the vaccine only lasts a few months. So the triple jabbed will need to be jabbed again in 3-6 months. And then again. And again.
Thewiseoneincognito · 27/12/2021 00:03

LOL

See you this time next year OP 😏

GoodPrincessWenceslas · 27/12/2021 00:15

I cherish the memories of when we thought it would be over by March 2020.

But we're being told the booster loses its efficacy within about 10 weeks. So why would triple vaccination mean we're free of risk in 12 weeks' time?

Does this work for Spam too?

InCahootswithOrwell · 27/12/2021 00:28

Yes, as tends to happen with viruses, Covid has mutated into a milder version in the form of Omicron.

No, this doesn’t tend to happen with viruses and people should probably stop repeating it as though it’s true.

There’s no evolutionary advantage to covid by doing that, so there’s no reason that’s the course it will take. There’s 1 or 2 mutations in delta that omicron doesn’t have that are associated with increased disease severity. There’s no reason why it shouldn’t develop those and the more we let it spread the more likely it is to eventually do so.

Do you mean that all the antivaxxers will be dead by then, so the rest of us can keep it under control with sensible precautions?

Seems a bit unsympathetic.

onlychildhamster · 27/12/2021 00:53

How is covid over? How can a virus be over?

It is likely to be around forever.

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 27/12/2021 11:28

@onlychildhamster

How is covid over? How can a virus be over?

It is likely to be around forever.

I assume OP means it will be viewed as similar to flu. Still around, still dangerous for some, but no more restrictions or rules.

It'll happen at some stage. March 2022 is optimistic, but possible I suppose, with the rate at which Omicron is spreading.

MrsSkylerWhite · 27/12/2021 11:29

That’s specific Grin

Why?
