I will put my neck on line and say that covid will be over by 27th of March 2022.
@Mogloveseggs the expiry means you've just got to go back on the app
I didn't know that thanks!

bigbluebus · 26/12/2021 22:00

Can we make it a few days earlier please? Don't want to spend my 3rd consecutive birthday with restrictions.

DaisyNGO · 26/12/2021 22:00

I used to think that but I now think it will be longer, the T&T contracts are renewed till 2025 aren't they?

Alliwantforchristmasisbooze · 26/12/2021 22:06

What’s T & T?

SkepticalSandra · 26/12/2021 22:19

Get a frigging grip of yourself

DustyMaiden · 26/12/2021 22:23

Few days earlier for my birthday.

DockOTheBay · 26/12/2021 22:26

23rd would be nice - 2 years anniversary of lockdown and my daughters 2nd birthday

Pascha · 26/12/2021 22:26

@MaryAndHerNet

Covid won't ever be ever, it'll just become accepted, like Flu, common cold, anal leakage etc.
Anal leakage? Xmas Confused
MrsMorningStarOfBethleh · 26/12/2021 22:30

@Luredbyapomegranate

You mean most of the drama will be over?

Or do you think the overlords are recalling it to the lab? Grin

😂
DockOTheBay · 26/12/2021 22:30

And for me "over" means no more requirement to test and/or no more requirement to isolate once you are feeling well. Masks optional. No limits on anything.

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Prescottdanni123 · 26/12/2021 22:34

the pandemic and restrictions might end by March. Not covid itself.

Seriouslymole · 26/12/2021 22:34

@Pascha- thank you so much for highlighting that - I have never laughed that much at anything on MN before. I keep laughing now at the thought of anal leakage being an annual illness.

Prescottdanni123 · 26/12/2021 22:35

Although I didn't know that there had been an anal leakage pandemic. It must have occurred before I was born. Thank goodness for that.

OnwardsAndSideways1 · 26/12/2021 22:35

I don't want to have to accept anal leakage!

tiredanddangerous · 26/12/2021 22:36

Nah. We've got at least another 2 years of this shit yet. Maybe 3.

villanova · 26/12/2021 22:37

Not a hope! There's still plenty of scope for other variants to pop up worldwide. A recent Nature article indicated that some experts had moved the previous estimate (end 2022) back to even 2024, mainly due to so many in the global south not even getting their first vaccination yet: www.nature.com/articles/d41586-021-03616-x?mc_cid=682169c05d&mc_eid=cb9ed6f9ad

BoudecaBains · 26/12/2021 22:40

I think we'll see the the back of it in 2022 but exactly when I'm not so sure. My guesstimate is by the end of summer. I sincerely hope so as I work in ICU.

Tiredalwaystired · 26/12/2021 22:41

I work with virologists as part of my work. They have estimated five years with a number of surges at lesser and lesser severity as time goes on.

Sothisischristmus · 26/12/2021 22:43

So we’ll be wearing masks and teachers etc wearing masks for *another 3 years?!

Notsomerryandbright · 26/12/2021 22:44

I really hope you're right!

I think we've been so bloody lucky that omicron is less severe, so lucky!

Claudethecat · 26/12/2021 22:44

Anal leakage is endemic?! 🤣🤯

oopsydoopsy · 26/12/2021 22:46

Cool
