Call an election not a lockdown

Who else agrees that the current Government appear to have lost any credibility they had left and have lost their mandate to govern.

Rather than calling a lockdown tonight/this week. The PM needs to call an election instead. Sadly the so called opposition are just as bad and already disappeared up Boris’ backside.

Well I don’t want another lockdown so who exactly could I vote for?

DottyHarmer · 20/12/2021 17:30

All sides have some crap MPs.. Greedy people. Ignorant people. In the expenses furore there were MPs of all colours filling their boots. And as for the SNP - a fair few truly awful specimens sneaked in at the last or last-but-one election - who weren’t expected to win - and are now in Parliament when honestly my dog has more integrity and critical thinking skills.

Me either

And no thanks to op

DottyHarmer · 20/12/2021 17:34

Exactly @cherryonthecakes - voting Labour would not suit the OP! I guess there could be some new party composed of anarchists, far right, far left and hippy “my body is a temple” types which might appeal….

Reform Uk

@Suranjeep

Reform Uk
Hmm

They got less than 1% in the N Shropshire by-election and are absolutely wacky!

ilovesooty · 20/12/2021 18:19

@Suranjeep

Reform Uk
Good grief.
BellaChagall · 20/12/2021 18:53

Ilovesooty Indeed.....

DaisyNGO · 20/12/2021 19:01

Reform seem very new, usual PR website.

Is the "good grief" prompted by anything in particular?

RachC2021 · 20/12/2021 19:04

YES.

Call one right now.

AnneElliott · 20/12/2021 19:17

I'm not sure if you're joking op about Pjers Corbin but I think his recent criminal conviction for organising a protest in defiance of Covid rules would bar him from standing as an MP.

Dee1975 · 20/12/2021 19:18

Yea why not. Let’s get all the PMs focussing on re-election rather than getting us through the pandemic …

Sorry op but you are being ridiculous

Suranjeep · 20/12/2021 19:37

@Dee1975 well the current PM isn’t focussing on that, he’s too busy trying to save his own arse over breaking his own Covid lockdown rules last year.

An election for what? There’s no one worth electing! No party or leader who would inspire me to want to vote for them. Not a single one

This thread is reminiscent of the 'Cutted up Pear' thread. It's like it's been started by a child.

PastMyBestBeforeDate · 20/12/2021 20:10

Isn't Reform Farage's new platform?

BunsyGirl · 20/12/2021 20:17

You know what OP, I am interested in politics and believe that I would make a good MP. However, I get paid as much as an MP, work from home and don’t have the hassle of travelling between Westminster and a constituency in another part of the country, late night votes etc. whilst trying to raise a family. I also don’t get lambasted on social media for every decision that I make without any consideration for my mental health. So, it’s a no from me and a lot of other people. Good luck with finding replacement MPs.

Hazelnutbean · 20/12/2021 20:29

@Suranjeep

Bar any current MP from standing
How would you do this? Hilariously clueless!
rrhuth · 20/12/2021 20:39

@PastMyBestBeforeDate

Isn't Reform Farage's new platform?
Yes - I incorrectly got them confused with Reclaim upthread - too many wacky right-wing parties now!!
