No explanation needed. Just a yes or no.

For me it's a hard NO.

OP posts:
ZippyZap · 19/12/2021 20:45

I could manage 2 weeks yes, but if they shut schools then I couldn't do more than 2 weeks, I'd let the kids meet up at parks with friends and the older ones have friends over, I'd have my Mum come inside to see us.
The other lockdowns we stuck to every single rule and went above and beyond and avoided seeing people and going places... It was miserable and I can't put my kids through that again after telling them things would be better after the vaccines.... Locking down for 2 weeks will not do enough to the cases to make a significant difference so I can't see it just being 2 weeks.
If schools stayed open then yes I could cut out socialising indoors for about 4 to 6 weeks maybe and reluctantly avoid shopping/odd meals out or visiting my Mum. But a complete lockdown and schools shutting for more than 2 weeks would really knock our mental health for six and I think we'd feel the future, keep doing this, was very very bleak

invinoveritass · 19/12/2021 20:46

@Cascascascas were all fighting a different battle here. You're scared of covid, I'm scared of other things which lockdown amplified previously.

On the contrary, I consider you selfish. I've had my vaccinations to keep you safe, do you want us in a cycle of lockdowns forever, just for you? The irony.

mumofthemonsters808 · 19/12/2021 20:47

Yes

FrodoAteMyRing · 19/12/2021 20:48

@LittleRoundRobin

NO WAY. Not a fucking chance.

@trappedsincesundaymorn

You would judge people who would struggle badly with restrictions, people who have lost loved ones coming together in grief, people in DV situations for which restrictions would be hell...you would actually JUDGE those people? What a delight you sound.

This.^ In spades.

We have SO many restrictions in place now, social distancing is everywhere, we wear masks, we have been jabbed with an experimental vaccine 3 times over, and we go out much less. There is NO NEED WHATSOEVER to have a fourth bastard lockdown, because of the so-called 'major incident' in LONDON!

AND lockdowns clearly do fuckall, as it's not got rid of COVID has it? Hmm

SO many people will be badly affected by another lockdown (people mentally and personally, AND businesses, AND the low paid.) It is remarkably selfish on demand another lockdown, and as was said on another thread yesterday, only the truly privileged are demanding it, because it doesn't affect them! Hmm

And like many others, I don't buy this 'protect the NHS' bullshit anymore. The NHS is not fit for purpose anyway, and needs a MAJOR overhaul. In addition, I am SICK of every sickness, illness, and disease being cancelled/pushed away, in favour of fucking COVID!

And anyone who 'judges' me can kiss my fat ass. IDGAF.

BRAVO!! HEAR, HEAR!!! I wish there was a clapping emoji!

And to answer the thread
NO (as in, I would see friends and family who would see me). And if anyone knows of any "illegal" lockdown pub openings, partys, gatherings, gyms etc. please send me their address Grin
I am so sick of this BULLSHIT! And anyone who cant see through it by now is an utter numpty!

AngelicaElizaAndPeggy · 19/12/2021 20:48

Well, I tested positive today along with 80 odd thousand other people so, for a lot of us, we will be stuck inside circuit-breaker or no circuit-breaker. So, Yes from me.

The irony is very strong!! . Some people can't see past the end of their own noses.

GiveMeNovocain · 19/12/2021 20:52

I'll be as compliant as the Westminster government have been throughout

You don't understand what lockdowns are for, do you? No wonder you're so angry!

Lol

BonnesVacances · 19/12/2021 20:55

You do release the island of people saying 'yes' would have to be massive, to accommodate all the social distancing you would be insisting on.

Well I can only speak for my DD, but currently her life is the size of her bedroom, so it wouldn't have to be much bigger to be an improvement.Smile

OK we need this printed on t shirts, who wants to open up a t shirt business???
vera99 · 19/12/2021 21:16

So you're about to give birth and have complications this Christmas and need emergency hospital support? What if it isn't there with a huge amount of staff who are off sick, ambulances don't come in time and your hospital is full of very sick and dying patients. Still, fuck no then?

GoodbyePorpoiseSpit · 19/12/2021 21:20

I’m normally compliant
Triple jabbed
I’m Not obeying any further lockdown rules that require me changing my life (if pubs are closed etc that’s beyond my control) I mean seeing my people: I don’t think me seeing my friends and family will hurt the NHS- I don’t hang out with unvaccinated people for their safety ...and because I have no respect for them
I’m not alone in this
My previously obedient and ‘follow the science’ pals feel the same
I have no faith in the government and will make my own decisions on safety
I’m interested that others don’t feel similarly - I feel that this gov have used us proles to follow rules instead of legislate around vaccine passports and actually support the NHS by PAYING PEOPLE PROPERLY and supporting the infrastructure

invisiblereally · 19/12/2021 21:23

Yes, I will comply
I'm CEV

IncessantNameChanger · 19/12/2021 21:27

Yes because where is the choice to go to shut things?

What do you think a circuit breaker after Christmas is going to go irt reducing the number of nhs staff off sick? You know how quickly this variant spreads, right?
bookworm14 · 19/12/2021 21:34

I will sadly have to comply with any school closures. However if the government think I’m denying my daughter contact with a single other child for months on end, for the third time, they’ve got another think coming.

Unicornspirit · 19/12/2021 21:35

No

RichTeaRichTea · 19/12/2021 21:37

I really don’t understand how MN can be called an “echo chamber” in terms of people not complying with restrictions. Can people not read the many “yes” responses on this thread? Confused

paranoidnamechanger · 19/12/2021 21:37

@IncessantNameChanger

Yes because where is the choice to go to shut things?
We’re not having a lockdown.
vera99 · 19/12/2021 21:37

I'm not an epidemiologist I have to believe that the scientists that we have and the knowledge we currently have on Omicron that decisions will have to be made that try to best preserve key emergency hospital services. The ones that at times of our lives, and particularly so at childbirth we have come to rely upon at being there and functioning.

But of course, this fucking government and their criminal mismanagement are a given - but that's not the point here at this moment in time and we only even gave this variant a name 4 weeks ago.
