No explanation needed. Just a yes or no.

For me it's a hard NO.

@RichTeaRichTea

I really don’t understand how MN can be called an “echo chamber” in terms of people not complying with restrictions. Can people not read the many “yes” responses on this thread? Confused
Because it's easier for some people to cope with than the reality that lots of others fundamentally disagree with them and know they can opt out.

I do really hope that those that would comply and allow businesses to close and furlough brought back in realise that all these people on furlough will not be paying into the NHS! For me personally lockdown boosts my income by about 70% during the winter as its normally my quiet time! I understand the 'if too many people are in hospital at once' argument but ultimately it comes down to money! Pay us to stay at home, deprive the NHS from the funding it needs! Isolation and sacking staff causes staffing issues! All another lockdown or circuit breaker will do is cripple the country economically! People will not stay away from family and friends again they might say they will but ultimately they won't. All it will do is destroy the hospitality industry that contributes massively to NI and Tax. No one believes a 2 week promise! I'm afraid rightly it wrongly we now have to make our own decisions! A 5 hour wait for an ambulance is normal where I live, 48 hours for police both in emergencies!

No way ...I've done this for too long. This is life now and we have to learn to live with it. Life can not keep stopping, mentally or financially

Yes- from the suggested rules I can’t see it impacting my life in any way for the sake of 2 weeks

Yes AFTER Christmas

WhatHoJeeves · 19/12/2021 22:20

Yes. This is a pandemic. It's all crap and I'm sick of it all just like everyone else but it will end. We all get 'normality' back sooner if everyone has a little sense and does what - unfortunately - has to be done. I'm angry that the willfully unvaxxed and the 'I'm done' people will make all of us endure this for longer.

CrimbleCrumble1 · 19/12/2021 22:22

Yes but only for January

I’m bored of the you people are making this even longer for not following the rules . I’m sure you are. It’s a pandemic me being triple vax and seeing my triple vax mum isn’t prolonging the pandemic.

Are people seriously still spouting this? April 2020 called. It can't believe you're still pushing its line.

MGMidget · 19/12/2021 22:33

Yes, and we will end up complying one way or another because if there isnt a circuit breaker there is going to be an explosion of cases so there will be forced closures because too many staff are isolating and many people will be stuck at home isolating with covid so unable to go out anyway. Carry on as though nothing is happening won’t be an option!

In that situation I think this Tory government will avoid closing non-essential businesses and therefore paying out for furlough and do other things to keep cases down. We already owe more than £2 tn.

You do you. Hopefully enough people with kindness and responsibility will balance you out.

Mreggsworth · 19/12/2021 22:51

Mostly yes. I'll follow the rules, however would still visit my recently bereaved relative.

Outright choosing to not follow covid rules just seems childish. Everyone's fed up, but the situation isnt going to get better by spitting your dummy out. I get not following everything to a T, and I understand some exceptions. But why would you not want to at least partially limit contact and reduce the chance of you and others catching covid? And why would you actively make a decision that means people may not be able to access an ICU bed? You don't need to be a saint just a little thoughtful with who you choose to see and what precautions to take.
