No explanation needed. Just a yes or no.

For me it's a hard NO.

OP posts:
godmum56 · 19/12/2021 09:03

Yes but I am not sure it will happen although there may be limitations. The thing is (and this is from Chris Whitty) the cost to mental health and the economy will be the same but there will be less additional benefit because we now have the vaccines. In my mind that's why its so important that people do the things they have been asked to do....get jabbed, prioritise choices, masks and socially distance and so on...because a lockdown won't add much benefit.

LittleRoundRobin · 19/12/2021 09:03

NO WAY. Not a fucking chance.

@trappedsincesundaymorn

You would judge people who would struggle badly with restrictions, people who have lost loved ones coming together in grief, people in DV situations for which restrictions would be hell...you would actually JUDGE those people? What a delight you sound.

This.^ In spades.

We have SO many restrictions in place now, social distancing is everywhere, we wear masks, we have been jabbed with an experimental vaccine 3 times over, and we go out much less. There is NO NEED WHATSOEVER to have a fourth bastard lockdown, because of the so-called 'major incident' in LONDON!

AND lockdowns clearly do fuckall, as it's not got rid of COVID has it? Hmm

SO many people will be badly affected by another lockdown (people mentally and personally, AND businesses, AND the low paid.) It is remarkably selfish on demand another lockdown, and as was said on another thread yesterday, only the truly privileged are demanding it, because it doesn't affect them! Hmm

And like many others, I don't buy this 'protect the NHS' bullshit anymore. The NHS is not fit for purpose anyway, and needs a MAJOR overhaul. In addition, I am SICK of every sickness, illness, and disease being cancelled/pushed away, in favour of fucking COVID!

And anyone who 'judges' me can kiss my fat ass. IDGAF.

ddl1 · 19/12/2021 09:03

Yes. If it comes to that.

ddl1 · 19/12/2021 09:05

I'm not expecting true lockdown, however - not now that we have the jabs. But I would comply with increased restrictions.

Immaculatemisconception · 19/12/2021 09:05

No

user1471505494 · 19/12/2021 09:05

Yes and I’m triple jabbed

Snailhaterz2 · 19/12/2021 09:08

It depends when it is. I'm not 100% sure I'd comply if it meant spending Christmas Day/Boxing Day entirely by myself.

wheresmymojo · 19/12/2021 09:09

Yes

OfMinceAndMen · 19/12/2021 09:10

No

LethargicActress · 19/12/2021 09:10

bumbleymummy · 19/12/2021 09:11

No.

doublemonkey · 19/12/2021 09:11

No

Snookie00 · 19/12/2021 09:12

Nope. I would mostly comply but I won’t stop kids seeing their friends.

Bobholll · 19/12/2021 09:13

No. To some extent we’ll have too I guess but I won’t be stopping seeing friends & family who are happy to see me.

SivvyPlath · 19/12/2021 09:13

Nope.

Even more of a no if it's over Christmas.

zafferana · 19/12/2021 09:13

Well said @LittleRoundRobin

Tigerwhocameforsupper · 19/12/2021 09:13

Depends what I was.

Yes I would stay home and not visit the pub

No I wouldn’t stay away from homes of family and friends.

bumbleymummy · 19/12/2021 09:14

@MultiSkills iirc these increased cases have been confirmed as incidental - ie children being admitted for other things and testing positive. I don’t think it’s helpful to try to scare people with misleading information.

Katyjayne72 · 19/12/2021 09:14

No.

MonicaGellerBing · 19/12/2021 09:14

No

changingstages · 19/12/2021 09:16

Yes.

But I want them to put proper financial support in place for those whose industries are on their arse and proper support for those who have to isolate. And to spend the time sorting measures out for schools - air filters etc.

PurplePeculiar · 19/12/2021 09:17

Of course yes.

vera99 · 19/12/2021 09:17

Yes ,No

RichTeaRichTea · 19/12/2021 09:17

“ Anyone who doesn't want to comply; are you happy for you children to be waiting in a long queue for medical assistance or being unable to access adequate care?”

Well. I am an HCP working in the community and I am seeing the long term effects of both restrictions themselves and covid on health.

When I had PND during successive lockdowns in 2020 no one cared about the effect on my children. I was not able to access adequate care and therefore neither were they, I know what this is like already and it was the restrictions themselves that left my children at risk.

So as I have said on other threads - all paths now lead to chaos. it’s a case of pick your chaos.

TynieTim · 19/12/2021 09:18

No.
