No explanation needed. Just a yes or no.

For me it's a hard NO.

christmaspop · 19/12/2021 08:18

Yes and no.

I'd definitely let my kids see other kids and probably still see family at Christmas.

What I think a lot of people are failing to understand is that we won't be locking down to protect ourselves or even the vulnerable. I've had covid isn't really a good reason not to comply.

If your house catches fire you'll expect a fire engine, if you have a heart attack you'll wants paramedics and hospital treatment, if you are hungry you'll expect food on the shop shelves.

This is what we are protecting. A large spike will lead to chaos in service provision which will ultimately affect everyone

No fucking way! Nor did I last time, or the time before that, or the time before that or....
And it's because of people like this that so many people died. How do you live with that on your conscience? So selfish!

Yes.

I am concerned about how bad this could get and about being unable to access healthcare if needed.

firef1y · 19/12/2021 08:21

No.
Although tbh I do by default anyway and if they close the gym I'll have no choice.
My partner cares for the MIL so we will still be taking the boys to see her and I was allowed a support bubble in the last lockdown and that will continue.

I'll also be fuming because, yet again, it will be just at the right time for changes in behaviour to have reversed the growth and allow them to say "look lockdowns work". My partner was out last night and the venues that would using be heaving at any point of the year on a Saturday night (let alone at christmas) were dead. Generally people have already changed behaviour and stopped going to the higher risk places.

A ridiculous argument free question. Did you vote for spineless liar Johnson yes or no?

lightisnotwhite · 19/12/2021 08:23

Comply to what though? You want gave much choice if non essential shops and hospitality get closed. School and colleges are closed already.

It can only be the non mixing of multiple households inside. Which by now we all know who is safe to count as a household, we can meet outdoors, go for walks. It’s not as if it isn’t left to your own judgement anyway. Hardly massive inconvenience ( aside from business).

In reality they only mean no big meet ups, no New Year parties, no packed Christmas sales.

PurpleFlower1983 · 19/12/2021 08:23

Yes

Starryskiesinthesky · 19/12/2021 08:26

No way. I did in the past most of the time but when you have govt ignoring rules and having parties no way.

3WildOnes · 19/12/2021 08:26

No. I am already limiting my social contact and have changed plans to meet at friends houses rather than busy bars. I won’t stop seeing my family.

Closing gyms is outrageous. Going to the gym is so important for people's (mental) health It's counter intuitive. There should be no lockdown just social distancing and masks and no events with 50 plus people.
