No explanation needed. Just a yes or no.

For me it's a hard NO.

Is there any data on how well people complied in previous lockdowns?

As someone who regularly travelled for work throughout all 3 lockdowns my unscientific observation was each subsequent lockdown was not the same as the 1st - purely by the amount of traffic on the roads. My usual journey of 80 mins was down to 45 mins in the 1st, 60 mins in the 2nd and 80 in the 3rd.

The list of keyworkers was so big last time it almost included everyone so essentially it's just shutting retail and hospitality again isn't it?

Creamcakeandrhinos · 19/12/2021 08:31

Yes

chaosrabbitland · 19/12/2021 08:32

no

trappedsincesundaymorn · 19/12/2021 08:32

@luckylavender

YES. And I'd judge people who didn't.
You would judge people who would struggle badly with restrictions, people who have lost loved ones coming together in grief, people in DV situations for which restrictions would be hell...you would actually JUDGE those people? What a delight you sound.
BustopherPonsonbyJones · 19/12/2021 08:33

@madisonbridges

Yes. I'd hate every minute of it, but yes. Boris Johnson is imploding his party and ending his premiership over this so he must think the figures merit it.
Exactly this. And I’d probably be at work anyway (school). But yes. I don’t want to put doctors and nurses under any more stress as they’ve suffered enough.
chaosrabbitland · 19/12/2021 08:34

@vera99

A ridiculous argument free question. Did you vote for spineless liar Johnson yes or no?
no id rather vote for a seal to run the country than that lying prick
TooManyPlatesInMotion · 19/12/2021 08:34

No

NoNameHere12 · 19/12/2021 08:34

So if covid went away tomorrow, you think in a few weeks/months the NHS will be running smoothly with appointments and operations all on time???!
It didn’t do that before covid!!

polkadotpixie · 19/12/2021 08:35

Absolutely not. I've had 3 jabs and COVID, I don't think I'm a risk to anyone and will see anyone who'll see me

Tumbleweed101 · 19/12/2021 08:36

Yes in so far as I won’t have a choice with shops, restaurants etc, wearing masks. No to not seeing my close family. I will continue to do what we’ve been doing and do LFT and stay away if feeling unwell. My mum really suffered not seeing family in the last lockdown. Feels different now we are all vaccinated and know more about the virus than when we dealt with the unknown.

I will carry on working outside the home and see colleagues so it won’t feel massively different day to day.

HelloDulling · 19/12/2021 08:36

Yes. Little desire to storm the local Weatherspoons, in any case.

Lovemusic33 · 19/12/2021 08:37

Yes, it’s only 2 weeks FFS

RichTeaRichTea · 19/12/2021 08:37

@Lovemusic33

Yes, it’s only 2 weeks FFS
Haha we’ve heard that one before
FourTeaFallOut · 19/12/2021 08:38

Yes, it’s only 2 weeks FFS

Isn't it always? Grin

rightsideoftheroad · 19/12/2021 08:38

No

rightsideoftheroad · 19/12/2021 08:39

Hahahaha 2 weeks - can't believe people are still falling for that.

smilingthroughgrittedteeth · 19/12/2021 08:39

Yes

monkeynutter · 19/12/2021 08:39

No! My dad has secondary cancer which was missed thanks to lockdowns/no face to face hospital appointments and no idea if this will be his last Christmas.
So no, I won't comply with being told not to see family again.
Perhaps they should sort the NHS instead of locking down to try and save it! Even before Covid the NHS was at risk most winters due to flu etc.

User5329806 · 19/12/2021 08:39

Ha ha, 2 weeks, enjoy your home schooling.

EmmaWoodhousestreehouse · 19/12/2021 08:40

Yes. I wouldn’t care if they did it tomorrow.

SpringheelJack · 19/12/2021 08:40

A little bit. I wouldn't be in and out of houses with all and sundry, doing whatever I like. But I'm not seeing nobody. I'm not doing another winter like last year with small children, crawling the walls stuck in our house, the only other option being to go for a freezing wet walk that leaves everyone almost as miserable as house arrest. I would see my parents, and probably one other family we know with similar age kids. I'd only see them if we kind of agreed to only see each other and parents, keeping it all fairly limited. So I'd be certainly curtail my activities significantly. But I'm not seeing no one. Fuck that again.

Nidan2Sandan · 19/12/2021 08:40

No

Carriemac · 19/12/2021 08:40

yes, of course. ill hate it but if we need to we need to.

Popcornriver · 19/12/2021 08:42

Yes probably and I don't want schools to close but when my DD is getting 20 different busses a week it seriously makes me think what on earth is the point. Not enough school transport means so many kids stuck getting multiple busses to school and then multiple home.

luckylavender · 19/12/2021 08:46

@BlackCatz - and that's the problem with Johnson's Britain.
