Heart palpitations after booster jab

Hi guys

Has anyone else had this? I've experienced this every night without fail since my booster on Tuesday. (Had AstraZeneca the other times)

I do have a recent history with heart palpitations a year ago after a traumatic experience but what I've felt the last few days feels different. Like my heart is stopping or swelling , then feels really hot and only when I'm literally about to fall asleep. Before it was just mild heart fluttering here and there (scary in itself).
I went to A&E last night after calling 111 as it was really quite scary, like my heart was stopping and I couldn't sleep. They did an ECG which seemed normal. I do have a 24 hour ECG booked in January.

Just wondered if anyone has had this?

I’ve had this, haven’t been boosted yet but had 2 x pfizer earlier this year. I have wondered if they’re linked but keep getting palmed off, HCPs are not willing to link them.

How old are you? Heart palpitations can be an effect of menopause as well.

Yes it’s called anxiety. Caffeine and alcohol make it worse.

Don't mean to scare you but my friends husband had a heart attack and the doctors said it was caused by the vaccine. I was so shocked.

It has not put me off though I've just had my booster. My friend only had her first vaccine and didn't go bk for the second as she's too scared now.

Insist that your GP record this on the ‘yellow card’ system. So important to have accurate data.

I had heart palpitations the day after the moderna booster. I'd read about others having them so didn't panic and it passed by day 2.

I have had them before as I suffer with benign ectopic beats but never as bad as it was after the jab.

A relative and a friend both elderly have been diagnosed with arterial fibrillation which came on after their first jabs. Might be worth getting it looked into.

OP (and anyone else) can do this themselves, details in the leaflet given to you with after the appointment, or by going to the yellow card website

Most cases of myo/pericarditis are self-limiting and don't require any treatment

Which booster did you have? Pfizer or Moderna?

The leaflet for Pfizer says that, rarely, cases of myocarditis (inflammation of the heart muscle) and pericarditis (inflammation of the lining outside the heart) have occurred after the Pfizer booster (usually in young men). Symptoms: breathlessness, palpitations and chest pain.

I'm 43

I never had heart palpitations in my life until last year and I know for a fact that was caused by stress.

But what I've felt since I had I had my booster feels different, I'm not stressed and it happens when I'm at my most relaxed.

This isn't the odd heart flutter what I was previously experiencing. This feels like my heart stopping for 1-2 seconds and then the chest area feels really hot. But because of my recent history they all think it is anxiety even when I'm not anxious at the moment.

I do have a 24 hour ECG booked soon so hope this will help,

I had phizer booster but my first two were AstraZeneca

I just remembered... the night I had my Pfizer booster, I started to feel unwell and had a fever. I was in bed trying to sleep and my Apple Watch pinged and said my heart rate was over 100 (it's usually around 65 at rest).

My DH currently being monitored for heart palpitations. Came on suddenly 12 days after his booster. He is usually superfit with low resting heart rate and his ECG when he got admitted to hospital was all over the place. He's also 43. Please get it checked out properly

Scary for you! I have had similar and been sent to hospital with palpitations and other heart symptoms. All since COVID booster Confused. Very alarming, although nothing alarming has been found when in hospital (and it's not actively happening.) Worse at night usually. Waiting to get 24 hour monitor too. I know of 2 other people who have experienced similar after Pfizer vaccinations... For what it's worth, I've been told to go back to hospital whenever it's bad, and doesn't settle after 30 minutes. Not nice, and wondering if it will resolve by itself... never had anything like it before booster! Hope you're ok Brew

I've had periods of palpitations or missed beats like this since my vaccines (moderna). No proper investigation yet tho. It never happens when I am at the doctors. It's defo not anxiety

It makes me feel like I never want a booster again. At least Covid is diagnosable and treatable. I don't think I do do much more as I've reported to my doctor who basically said that they find it hard to link symptoms to vaccines and told me to wait for my 24 hour ecg in January. I don't blame them for saying that as my ECG read fine.

Mine mainly happens not even when in lm lying down but when I'm seconds away from sleeping. It happened the first night since my jab on Tuesday.

Yes currently having this now 3 days after moderna booster. It feels exactly like the palpitations I got when I had covid, which did go away eventually. Definitely worse in the evening. Going to see how it is tomorrow.
