Heart palpitations after booster jab

Hi guys

Has anyone else had this? I've experienced this every night without fail since my booster on Tuesday. (Had AstraZeneca the other times)

I do have a recent history with heart palpitations a year ago after a traumatic experience but what I've felt the last few days feels different. Like my heart is stopping or swelling , then feels really hot and only when I'm literally about to fall asleep. Before it was just mild heart fluttering here and there (scary in itself).
I went to A&E last night after calling 111 as it was really quite scary, like my heart was stopping and I couldn't sleep. They did an ECG which seemed normal. I do have a 24 hour ECG booked in January.

Just wondered if anyone has had this?

@crapatthis1

It makes me feel like I never want a booster again. At least Covid is diagnosable and treatable. I don't think I do do much more as I've reported to my doctor who basically said that they find it hard to link symptoms to vaccines and told me to wait for my 24 hour ecg in January. I don't blame them for saying that as my ECG read fine.
@crapatthis1

Chat to your GP.

Of course if you were ever in the situation of needing a booster again you don't need to take it up, but cardiac complications, including myo/pericarditis, are far more common & serious in your demographic from coronavirus infection than they are from vaccination.

Right now you don't know what the issue is or what it could be linked to, I hope you get some answers soon.

crapatthis1 · 18/12/2021 23:19

Thanks @ollyollyoxenfree

Because i started suffering from heart flutters when I had genuine stress a year ago they quite clearly believe its this still but I'm hoping my 24 hour ecg brings some answers and at least a remedy

One thing you can do that helps with any arrthymia is take a magnesium supplement

crapatthis1 · 18/12/2021 23:35

@DharmaInitiativeLady

I have myocarditis which came on the day after my Pfizer booster on Wed evening. I am 38 years old and had previously had 2 x AZ jabs. Reported on yellow card scheme,
I'm sorry to hear that. Can I ask how they diagnosed it?

I had palpitations for several days after my 2nd jab. I won’t be getting a booster

WineGetsMeThroughIt · 18/12/2021 23:45

This really is much more common than people are led to believe. Sooo many people have reported heart complications after their jabs. There is a whole whack of posters in the CovidVaccinated Reddit group that have experienced this. Dr's brush it off (I would assume because they don't know any better and are just giving out text book answers without much research into peoples actual symptoms and causes).

This is yet another reason why I'm so worried about the jabs. People are being told "oh don't worry. These side effects are rare" (no they're not - look at the number of people just on this thread that have experienced them!). "It's just stress" - no. People are stressed all the time and don't experience things like this. We've all been under stress before, so to be medically gaslighted and told you're just stressed (like c'mon - is everyone more stressed than they ever have before just because they had the vaccine? No. Hundreds of thousands of women getting messed up period cycles. "Oh it's a side effect. You'll go back to normal eventually". Same with the people experiencing tingling in their limbs. These are not normal side effects 😕

Tanfastic · 18/12/2021 23:46

Yes me. I've had them for a few weeks now (although been a few days now and not noticed any so may have stopped). I had two AZ and my booster was Pfizer. Mine feel more like a missed beat. I used to get the same when I started peri menopause but not for a couple of years till now. I'm
Still peri menopausal so it may be that or it may be my booster I don't know. I've not been to doctor but I do work for the nhs so if it continues might get them to check me out.

Nyfluff · 18/12/2021 23:48

I've had arrhythmia and palpitations and tight chest pain since Pfizer booster after 2 AZ. I went to a&e who did a full blood count and 30 second ecg a few hours after I arrived. I wasn't actively having symptoms during the ecg and counting to have the issues now.

hivemindneeded · 18/12/2021 23:50

I had very mild heart palpitations after the booster. I didn't associate them with the jab until reading this thread.

Nyfluff · 18/12/2021 23:50

I had a fever in A&E. I've also been profoundly exhausted, had flashes of fever, and burning pins and needles in my finger tips and waves of nausea since I was in A&E.

WineGetsMeThroughIt · 18/12/2021 23:52

This makes me wonder - everyone going to the Dr / A&E to get checked out for all these side effects - how much strain is this putting on the NHS? Confused

Authenticcelestialmusic · 18/12/2021 23:57

Yep heart palpitations after 1st Az. Brushed off by hcp saying I was nervous!!! I really don’t care about injections so this was not true. I got taken to a and e after ringing non emergency help line. I will not be getting a booster.

Authenticcelestialmusic · 18/12/2021 23:57

I yellow carded it.

ContadoraExplorer · 19/12/2021 02:08

Got my Pfizer booster today and, as PP's have said it can be a side effect of both that and Moderna. The nurse giving me and DH the jag said that it was generally ok and would clear up itself but to call NHS24 if we experienced the symptoms.

Covid can also cause heart palpitations and isn't really 'treatable' at the moment, people are only receiving 'supportive treatment'.
Sarahschild · 19/12/2021 05:02

Pericarditis and myocarditis are so common in Australia now after the vaccines that they have now created an item number on Medicare.
Easier to be claimed on.
To the poster who said its anxiety from coffee and stress, you're an idiot. The OP could be unwell and you say that?!
You sound like an Australian doctor.
Hope you get the treatment you deserve OP and not get fobbed off like they to us all here.

eightmaidsamilking · 19/12/2021 05:29

I had a Pfizer booster yesterday and had heart palpitations in the night, big jumping palpitations. I feel so rough, my temperature is 39, shivery, can’t get warm, I vomited three times in the night. Grim.

Hope you're feeling better soon! Do the doctors involved think it'll resolve completely? What a nightmare Thanks

Not so good @eightmaidsamilking hope you feel better soon. Conversely, I felt pretty horrible for a day after my second Moderna but got Pfizer yesterday and have taken paracetamol and drinking lots of water and feel totally fine.
