I lateral flow test him every single morning. All negative, including today.

He had positive cases in his class discovered on Wed. Kept him out of school Thurs & Friday.

He had a temp last night. So I took him for a PCR this morning.

This would be the first Christmas we'll have spent with my parents in 4 years so I'm desperate for some hope. They live abroad so were due to fly next week.

It's going to be positive isn't it... Sad

My daughter's came back negative despite her being a close contact of multiple positive cases in her class, and being sent home with a temperature and symptoms similar to the confirmed positive cases. She had a temp for 24hrs then was back to her normal self. All daily lfts are negative too.

uhohspaghettiohh · 18/12/2021 13:44

Yes - my daughter. She's had loads of viral illnesses & two chest infections. Relax.

Peachyqueen · 18/12/2021 14:13

.....good for you? Not sure what you want me to say to that? Confused

Porcupineintherough · 18/12/2021 15:54

Last weekend. Whole family had temp, headaches, nausea, aching muscles. All negative.

RubyJam · 18/12/2021 15:57

Yes
High temp turned out to be throat infection requiring antibiotics
I think we are all programmed to think Covid first now

( all of my DC have actually had Covid , none had a high temp with it , mostly asymptomatic)

Pl242 · 18/12/2021 16:59

Both mine had high temps, cases in school/nursery etc. But came back negative today on PCR. Were also testing negative on LFT. Good luck.

glutten4punishment · 19/12/2021 09:30

It's positive.

And I'm crushed.

Ah I'm sorry, that is hard. Sad Weve just heard that ds1's best friend, who weve been giving lifts to all week, has tested positive. So we are also now waiting for the axe to fall. It's my df's 90th birthday on the 27th.

123walrus · 19/12/2021 09:33

Really sorry to hear that @glutten4punishment

Could your family change flights and come for new year?

HariboMaroon · 19/12/2021 09:34

Yes. Covid didn’t cause temps in my kids and LFTs picked them up.

Infections that’s have caused temps have not been covid in my house.

Pl242 · 19/12/2021 09:45

Really sorry OP. That sucks.

ThirdElephant · 20/12/2021 06:10

So sorry, OP. Xmas Sad

VaguelyInteresting · 20/12/2021 08:11

Ah no- what a shame OP! Can you change flights and fly between Christmas and NY?

JustDanceAddict · 20/12/2021 08:31

Sorry OP.

iloveayankeecandle · 20/12/2021 08:37

I'm so sorry. I feel like this is all a ticking time bomb for us all.

Chewbunn · 20/12/2021 08:38

Yes of course, temps in little ones are pretty common for a variety of reasons.

Whyyyyyyyohhhhhwhyyyyyy · 20/12/2021 08:42

Yes turns out to be a bad chest infection.

whiteonesugar · 20/12/2021 11:30

Yea loads. My 2.5 year old has had so many tests its unreal. Never positive, even when his 6year old brother was positive.

AD80 · 20/12/2021 11:32

Kids get fevers all the time for varying viruses so a good chance it's not, but it could be. Hard to tell. Dc have just had covid and neither had a fever. Me and dp has had it too and never had a fever. Not as common with covid as people think.
