Roll up - who's in? My plans are screwed as dc1 has tested positive. All entertainment welcomed.

Well DS2’s LTF still showing a strong positive.
Everyone else still negative, so far.

I have allowed him out of his room for Christmas Day, although DS1 is avoiding him as much as poss as he has plans for a sleepover at a friends in a couple of days (I think it may get cancelled anyway if rules change).

Crapslattern · 25/12/2021 10:46

Welcome all latecomers!

Stockings opened, carols watched. DCs are back in their beds for a rest before lunch is delivered. No fun being a single parent today. All shit lonely.

DS2 still testing positive so confined to his room. He came down to open a few presents, all wearing masks with patio doors open. It was almost funny.

Hi feels guilty and is being brave, said some people dont have family or presents or nice food. Bless him. We were wondering about risking a little walk, we live in the middle of nowhere and can go down a track that is not a public right of way and no-one else uses. We will see.

Is starting on the wine now a bad idea?

ilovebagpuss · 25/12/2021 15:16

My DD had two positive LFT’s yesterday so all plans were cancelled. Fortunately we had the food so are well stocked. Poor in laws probably had freezer food. Also mucked up other family plans as we had been with family. Had PCR today for DD. Younger DD poorly with ear infection and ate one small sausage on her lunch plate. All feels a bit flat but they enjoyed presents and we have tried our best.
At least we aren’t alone in our strange Christmas!

CaramelFlaneur · 25/12/2021 15:32

I'm in too. DS 9 positive LFT this morning so DM is on her own for Christmas for the second year in a row. Gutted for her as she was so keen to see us. Ordered a home PCR and hunkering down with Netflix and a mountain for Lindor. Merry Covid Christmas everyone!

Icequeen01 · 25/12/2021 17:38

Happy Xmas to you all and hope everyone is feeling ok? I've had my second negative lateral flow today so I'm officially free! Not going anywhere for the next two days apart from perhaps a much needed walk to get some fresh air tomorrow.

DS finally got his second PCR result back at lunchtime and he's negative which is great so it looks as though they have both managed to avoid catching it from me this time round.

@Crapslattern I feel your pain as a fellow single parent 😫 Absolutely exhausting and feeling progressively worse as the day goes on. Dd2 really poorly and ringing me constantly for water etc. 🥴 God help us if the other 5 get it! Hoping everyone is getting through - what would I give for another adult to step in for an hour! I'm sure it will be better tomorrow though - sorry for the pity-fest!

Crapslattern · 25/12/2021 20:04

Oh @diege I'm sorry you're feeling so rotten. I hope you feel better in the morning xxx

Hi all...I'm on day 5 and pretty unwell and I'm my own as my son with his dad as they both negative Sad started as a cold but then got unwell pretty quick with high temp, chills, high blood pressure which went very low and I fainted so ended up in hospital as they thought it was my heart. Then tested positive n was sent home very quickly but seem to feel worse each day. I'm very breathless with palpitations, my stomach is painful too ...feel really bad but I had ecg and chest X-ray at hosp so I'm sure they wouldn't have sent me home if that bad

Ifartglitterybaubles · 25/12/2021 21:41

Can I join you all? DH tested positive last Saturday, all Christmas plans cancelled. He has had what he would say was a mild cold, no cough, no loss of taste or smell and us now pretty much back to normal. Ds2 was positive on an LFT yesterday and were waiting for his PCR result. Dd's LFT was positive this morning and ds1 has symptoms but LFT negative, both have had a PCR today. I tested positive on a PCR this morning. All of my LFTs have been and are still negative. I've had a couple of days of achy legs and a slight sore throat so far. Dh and I triple jabbed, ds1 has had 1 jab.

eldycha3 · 26/12/2021 10:14

Has anyone been vomiting with it ? I've got a phobia so it's been really scary sad I'm on my own and felt sick all night Sad my anxiety is through the roof !

Janus · 26/12/2021 10:24

3 out of 6 positive in our house. @eldycha3 no one sick but I’ve felt nauseous quite a lot and need to try and keep eating to keep the feeling away.
The 3 positives joined the rest yesterday, we have a ‘Covid sofa’ we sat on with our masks! We aren’t being very strict though, we all had our meal together and kept the windows open all willing to take the risk so we could have some kind of Christmas together. I spent most of the day in bed to be honest as the tiredness is unbelievable and I am double with my booster a month ago. You get ones have very little symptoms.
Not the best Christmas! Sorry to all those with changed plans, it really is rubbish.

LivingInaBuildingSite · 26/12/2021 14:56

Ds2 pcr came back as positive. Dh was negative.

Everyone negative on LFTs today though 🤷‍♀️

We’re not being strict with ds at all. He’s got no symptoms at all. I’ve got a bit of a tickly cough but still showing as negative…

sayhellotothelittlefella · 26/12/2021 14:58

Me and Dd (9) tested positive on Christmas Eve. I'm triple jabbed, my Dd already had covid 10 weeks ago. Poor thing had it on her birthday and Christmas Day. Bloody covid!
