Anyone awaiting PCR results

Currently awaiting results of a pcr, negative antigen but feel awful. Slight headache, dry cough and just feel tired and flat. I'm strangely craving savoury pastries right now and can't get them. It would mean isolation for all of us on Christmas Day. Anyone else?

Me! Had a test at 8:45 this morning. Doesn’t look like I’ll be getting my result and heading into work at 7am tomorrow 😩
The results can ping through to you overnight. I've had results come through at 3am

Yep, us too.
DD9 went for PCR at 11:30 this morning (Friday). LFTs negative-ish but she has mild fever, headache and sore throat plus confirmed cases in her class at school. I'm hopeful that PCR will be negative. When DS12 had Covid in October his LFTs were blazingly positive.

DS tested positive on 2 lateral flows this morning so we've been out for PCRs at midday. Waiting on the results and wondering how we're going to do the Christmas food shop if we're all positive :(

Yep - DD1 tested positive on LFT last night, then woke with a spiked temp in the night and feels rubbish today Sad we've all had a PCR test at 10am this morning.

Yep. Tested 10am today. Negative lateral flow but DD had a slight temperature. Hoping to get results in time to see friends tomorrow but seems like the wait has gone up this week….not holding out much hope although I think we’ll be negative

Can I join? DD was tested at 9am this morning after very swiftly coming down with a cough/temp/sore throat/cold. Plans last Christmas were scuppered because we couldn’t travel to family. If she’s +ve, that’ll be it this year too Sad.

I have to go to work tomorrow - that’s fine with a negative LFT, right?

Can I join too? Had a very positive LFT on Thursday night and did PCR on Friday morning at 09.30. Got symptoms now and feel full of cold but as 2 people at work tested positive today plus 4 others have had +LFTs I know I am going to be positive. Just keeping fingers crossed for DH and adult DS as I brought Covid home and infected them in January😢

Had PCR at the walk-in place this afternoon. Lateral flows negative but I have had awful symptoms and apparently Omicron doesn't always show up on a lateral flow.
Omicron symptoms are often like cold symptoms and I currently have the worst cold I have ever experienced, complete with severe aches and pains and night sweats which is classic Omicron apparently.

Yes. PCR this morning. Awaiting results. Usually back within 24hrs but since it's extremely busy it may be longer.

Other half had positive LFT this morning, mine was negative but can't see that lasting. both had PCR tests so awaiting results. Both isolating. Buggered up our plans but what will be will be.

DS has two flat makes who are positive. Should get his results tomorrow. DH been poorly for over a week now. Three negative LF tests. Not hungry, no taste buds but weird taste in his mouth. Previously cold, chills, headache I think. Getting frustrated with him really. Take a fucking PCR. He thinks it is flu. He's had the flu jab, double jabbed and boosted.

I'm waiting too. I feel so rubbish. Can't breathe, dry cough, sore eyes, sore legs, runny nose, dizzy, tired and peeing a hell of a lot no clue why? Had pcr done at 5pm. Hoping for quick results

@bananaandoears Yes I got my result late this afternoon (well yesterday now, just realised the time!). As I thought, I'm positive but DH and DS currently negative and hoping they stay that way but none of us are hopeful to be honest. DS22 has to keep going to work each day but does a LFD before he leaves. Luckily DH is finished for the school hols the same as me.

My symptoms haven't got any worse, still like a bad head cold, snotty and a sore throat. No temp or cough thank goodness.

Keep refreshing my phone. No results yet😩 feel very unwell with this. Just have to keep taking paracetamol and ibuprofen....hope others have success receiving results today.

Yes, I was a close contact and was T&T. No official symptoms. I have an occasional cough which DH points out to me I nearly always have. Lateral flows are negative and have been since Wednesday. PCR taken as a precaution and I’m waiting impatiently.

I did my test on Friday(postal) DD did a walk in test yesterday at13.00 still waiting for results. I had a temperature,sore throat and a streaming nose plus feeling achey and extremely tired. DD has a sore throat, her best friend tested positive Friday morning. DD LFT was positive mine was negative.
Fingers crossed we get our results today. I've normally had them within 30hrs in the past.

  • mild cold symptoms which I've had for a while previous PCR negative when they started 30th Nov -
This time - POSITIVE

isolation ends at the end of Christmas Day .
Can't finish my shopping
Can't go to my work Christmas meal
Can't visit my family to exchange gifts

I am thankful my symptoms are mild and at present I'm the only one with it.

But ffs immune system, I hardly go out and still it got me !
Between the negative test on 30th I left the house like 4 times

That's over 24hrs now, still no result....hate being in limbo like this. Just want to know either way.

There must be a longer wait for majority of us due to more people booking tests.
