Anyone awaiting PCR results

Currently awaiting results of a pcr, negative antigen but feel awful. Slight headache, dry cough and just feel tired and flat. I'm strangely craving savoury pastries right now and can't get them. It would mean isolation for all of us on Christmas Day. Anyone else?

Yep, symptoms Tuesday, PCR 8am Wednesday, no result. I think I may be ok for Christmas day if positive? The day 0 bit confuses me!

Anyway, my friend went to the same place in the same time slot, her negative came through 4 hours ago. I'm hoping that means nothing Sad

Bettyboopsboop · 16/12/2021 13:42

Yep, pcr test yesterday morning and 09:30 and awaiting the results

Panacotta · 16/12/2021 13:45

Yep

mynameiscalypso · 16/12/2021 13:46

Waiting for one for DS. Cough and high temp. I don't think it's Covid but obviously can't be certain.

tinseltoes21 · 16/12/2021 13:48

Hopefully we're not waiting too long my husband can work from home whereas I can't so I'm going to chill on the couch for a while with a book

Us, took my DD yesterday morning to a drive through, we have not heard back yet.
She has just told me she doesn’t want to eat because food tastes strange, so I’m slightly concerned.
My mum tested via post last week, results took 3.5 days.

Spacecadetagain · 16/12/2021 14:36

Yep . Dd positive on LFT on Tuesday . We all went for a PCR yesterday morning - still waiting DD still testing positive on LFTs rest of us “currently” negative

Spacecadetagain · 16/12/2021 14:38

Should add DD (11) only symptoms so far were a snotty nose until yesterday now a bit runny and she’s feeling fine and has been breaking her heart over missing Christmas dinner at school and secret Santa day . We all had covid last year and I have Long covid

JustALittleHelpPlease · 16/12/2021 17:58

Still waiting here. Hope everyone else is sorted Flowers

Orangesarenottheonlyfruit · 16/12/2021 18:03

Yep. Me too.
Positive lft on tuesday, did pcr yesterday, just waiting for results, it's been 26 hours now.
A bit coldy and headachey but not too bad.

JustALittleHelpPlease · 16/12/2021 18:37

I'm now nearing 36 - which wouldn't bother me as much if my friend wasn't already sorted Grin

To be fair this is by far the longest I've waited. I've never been more than 24 hours before so I shouldn't grumble!

elvis4nuts · 16/12/2021 18:40

Anyone else refreshing their emails every 5 minutes like a lunatic?! 🙈

choosername1234 · 16/12/2021 18:42

Yep, we're waiting too. DS (9) has a fever, chills & headache. He had Covid in March so we're hopeful this is "just" another passing virus. PCR done today at drive through at Heathrow airport at 1015 am

JustALittleHelpPlease · 16/12/2021 19:38

I'm jumping like I've been stung every time my phone beeps!

Hope ds isn't too poorly @choosername1234

DrunkenKoala · 16/12/2021 19:40

Yep, DS had a positive LTF last night so we booked a test. He started with temp this morning but he’s been fine with paracetamol, he just feels tired now. I’m pretty sure he’s got it. We all tested at 1.30 this afternoon.

GooodGolly · 16/12/2021 19:55

I'm SO fed up waiting! Went for PCR on Wed morning at 10:30am. Husband got his positive text and email this morning but still waiting for my results and my 2 kids results!

ChequerBoard · 16/12/2021 19:57

My DS had a PCR at 10:30am yesterday, we received the results at 5pm this evening.

NovemberNovemberDarkNights · 16/12/2021 20:02

@JustALittleHelpPlease

Day 0 is the day you take your test. day 1 the following day. Isolate 10 full days, freedom day 11 IF you no longer have symptoms! (Lingering cough is normal so that doesn't count)

Hope you're -VE though.

Hopefully that means the rest of you are currently -VE!

I'd do LFT's daily though before going out.

Thank you. He feels better after paracetamol and far too much Netflix today!
YetAnotherWalk · 16/12/2021 20:15

Fingers crossed for you all. Just had my result after sending a postal one off as a contact. Post would have been emptied at 5PM so impressed with the speed.

ConfusedFox · 16/12/2021 20:32

We are waiting for results too. DC positive lft this morning and my husband and I also have symptoms as of today. We couldn't go to our booster this morning incase we are positive.

If we are negative should we boost asap? Worried we will inevitably get covid off my DC as they're only 5 and then the booster won't work?

JustALittleHelpPlease · 16/12/2021 20:45

Thanks @NovemberNovemberDarkNights Smile presumably my day 0mis the day before as that's when symptoms started? At least thats what I'm banking on! 🤞

@JustALittleHelpPlease

They do say you can count the days from the day symptoms started, so I guess so, but I'd be too concerned that I was still infectious at the end to risk passing it on, but that's just me I guess. But it's possible to be contagious longer anyway, so it's all a bit arbitrary & a gamble!!

Hope you're -ve! Do let us know!

NewLifePending · 16/12/2021 21:05

Me! Had a test at 8:45 this morning. Doesn’t look like I’ll be getting my result and heading into work at 7am tomorrow 😩
