  1. Large Derbyshire town. It's actually reduced from last week when it was 577.
PicnicPie · 16/12/2021 05:47

502 west London Borough up 330 on previous week. I'm surprised its not higher given other London rates

@Lockdowninfinity

How to extrapolate ...

Don't you usually take a sample, count the number of cases in that sample and then multiply up as the same percentage of the whole population?

Thats not explained very well, soz

Example.
Population 1000
Sample size 1% = 10
If count of cases in the sample turns out to be 5, that would be 50%

Extrapolate the same 50% in population would be 500 cases in the population

917- West Northants

FaoinDrualus · 16/12/2021 06:13

I’m in Switzerland. The current incidence is 742 new cases per week per 100,000.

If you are interested in comparing around the world, this site is good - coronalevel.com/
You can filer by county, and region within the country where available.

636/100K Kent
A little bit lower than this time last year, by New Year we were well over 1000/100K so we’ll see what the next few weeks bring.

518 East Northants, it has gone down a bit, we were over 600, very conscious of how high other parts of our county are

ItsSnowJokes · 16/12/2021 06:30
  1. South Coast
PawPrintsInMyPansies · 16/12/2021 06:32

ChristmasRobins · 16/12/2021 06:35

623 in London. We are spending Christmas in the country and I was feeling uncomfortable about travelling from somewhere with high incidence to low incidence but actually the rate there is almost the same.

MirandaWest · 16/12/2021 06:37

696 per 100k - we’re In the South East.

ThatsMySantaHisBeardIsSoFluffy · 16/12/2021 06:57

437, Sefton.

We got pretty close to, if not over, 1,000 last Christmas / new year. As per the Wirral poster though, I feel like I know more people with it now than before (3 in DD's class alone).

ScarlettSunset · 16/12/2021 07:01

866 in my bit of East Anglia
It's not the highest I've seen it though.

bengalcat · 16/12/2021 07:06

Just googled this 738.8:100k - never really paid much notice to local rates on a regular basis but on the odd occasion I looked at peak pandemic remember levels mid 400’s . Guess that figure is of course an estimate based on those who have bothered with testing . Am in West London .

Madcats · 16/12/2021 07:08

Cases are beginning to creep up again in Bath. We're currently at 441 per 100k.

We were at 1,080 per 100k in mid October after the testing lab fiasco (rate for teens was in the high 5,000s at that point when it ripped through most of the schools).

I am jolly glad we got our boosters a fortnight ago and had mild Covid over the summer.

smilingthroughgrittedteeth · 16/12/2021 07:17
