I've done a few threads like this over the course of the pandemic.

My London borough is 721/100k.

878 Manchester.

stiltonandcrackers · 21/12/2021 14:09

1413 per 100K! London borough.

Blubells · 21/12/2021 14:10

It's actually good news if cases go up while hospitalisation stays low!

stiltonandcrackers · 21/12/2021 14:11

@ThinkAboutItTomorrow Lambeth and Wandsworth have some if the lowest vaccine uptakes in the country. Massive problem for many areas of London. Let's just hope this variant is mild 🤞🤞

I am an ED Dr, we are not seeing more Covid admissions now than a month ago, certainly not more severely ill patients than before, but there is way more Covid coming to the ED, luckily most do not need an admission. Time will tell, let's hope it remains this way. Main problem is up to 50% of staff off with Covid! So very hard to run an ED with such staff shortages.
Sausagis · 21/12/2021 14:30

About 1,187 :(

748 cases in a population of approx 63,000 (feel free to check my maths!)

Sausagis · 21/12/2021 14:31

Forgot to say where I was! Guernsey

itsgettingwierd · 21/12/2021 15:48

711/100k

Haven't really been checking so I'm quite surprised it's that high. We did really well u til the delta peak.

Town on south coast England.

BeesRGood · 21/12/2021 16:04

@BeesRGood

Inner SE London, 2033/100k !

Curious to see if it will go up or down today!

2490 / 100k here in SE London now...
HoardingSamphireSaurus · 21/12/2021 16:17

490 up from 430 with very few deaths.

Rural Gloucestershire.

kickupafuss · 21/12/2021 16:19

A scary almost 3000 / 100k today. Oxfordshire

BigWoollyJumpers · 21/12/2021 16:25

1,800/100k two weeks ago.... now 450, but in our tiny village. Cases for area are up and down like a whatsit. LA now at 750/100k, but some smaller areas within that up at the 1,800 mark within it. University is currently highest, which is interesting...... thought they would all be gone.

Underthestairsbears · 21/12/2021 16:31

625 South Wales

Cuddlywaterfall · 21/12/2021 16:41
  1. S London borough. Only 65% of people in this council have had the first dose of the vaccine though.
Cuddlywaterfall · 21/12/2021 16:43

@Choux we are probably neighbours 😀. It's been rampant in the schools here for weeks. At one point 11 teachers were absent in my kids school. Not that it affected my kids as they were both also off with bloody Covid

nancy75 · 21/12/2021 23:22

In the 6 days since my first post my London Borough has gone from 720 to over 1500. That is really quite frightening.

Oh I'm not in Lambeth. My London MSOA is only 2,200 per 100k.

SquirmOfEels · 22/12/2021 08:16

The rate of increase is startling

I live near the border of two London boroughs, and since this thread started, they've gone from 750ish to 900ish, to 1200 at the weekend, to over 2,500 now

TenoringBehind · 22/12/2021 08:27

1008 😮

Rural East Mids.

RepentBirthingPersonFucker · 22/12/2021 08:52

572 but the figures can be misleading in my area are there aren't 100,000 people living here

PollyIndia · 22/12/2021 08:57

Also in a London borough and similarly, has gone from 700 to 1500 in just a few days. But hospitalisations have stayed flat, and isn't that also a very important number?
My friend is an ICU doc at the royal free and she said they have had the same number of people in since July (I think she said 4), and only 6 now. Royal Free was under crazy pressure last winter, so it isn't currently comparable.

BrusselPout · 22/12/2021 09:09

A lot!

How many cases oer 100k and where are you?
BrusselPout · 22/12/2021 09:11

But at 940/100000, a lot less than some of these London numbers 😱 Scarily though it's worse than it has ever been

we live in a part of a Uni city with a lot of student houses and our local (council ward) rate has suddenly shot up (whereas it is unremarkable for the city as a whole as is the rate for the county per the Zoe app).

We're wondering whether a lot of students are actually back in London etc with family and friends but their +ve tests are mapped back to their term time address?

LadyCatStark · 22/12/2021 10:00

407 but we’re a small rural community so that only equates to 27 people on the past 7 days.
