I've done a few threads like this over the course of the pandemic.

My London borough is 721/100k.

410, Bassetlaw East Mids.

Choux · 20/12/2021 21:31

Highest rate I've seen is for people aged 25-29 in Lambeth. 5,033. So 5% of that age group has been diagnosed with covid in the last seven days!

  1. NE London! I know so many people who have it!
Mimilamore · 20/12/2021 21:38

779 Kent

Blubells · 20/12/2021 21:39

1456 Greater London

Hope we get some lasting immunity hopefully!

natrew · 20/12/2021 21:41

Over 1,800 on my part of London.
This time last year the only person I knew who had it was DS1.
In the past 4 weeks I know loads of people who have tested positive. Myself, DH and DS2, neighbours both sides, 12 of DS2s classmates and his teacher. Was supposed to be meeting 4 of my girlfriends tonight, 2 are in houses where family members are positive and another has just had it in her house.

TulipsGarden · 20/12/2021 21:43

@Paquerette

1280 Essex. Up 122% in the last 7 days 😱
1055 in my bit of Essex. I think that London wave is spreading here.

I know so many people with Covid at the moment. Multiple cases in my child's nursery.

Approx 530 up from approx 430 last week - so rising but not as quickly as other areas.

happytoday73 · 20/12/2021 21:45

Grt Manchester is shockingly high again... I wouldn't have thought there was many people left to have it as we've been so high for ages

1451 (including me). South East.

RavingAnnie · 20/12/2021 22:16

864 cases. South East. It's been really high here for months now. And rising. We are second highest in country not long ago. No idea why.

Over 1700 but a very close borough is at 2500!

BellaChagall · 20/12/2021 22:44

Gosh, I read some of these figures in disbelief, checked for my London Borough and we are at over 1400! I don't ever remember it being that high.

However if there are lots of positive cases but low hospitalisations that is very good news. Fingers crossed.

EezyOozy · 20/12/2021 23:14

375 , Scottish Borders. It was 275 a few days ago

theemperorhasnoclothes · 20/12/2021 23:59

I think it's too soon to say what this means for hospitalisations, there's at least 2 weeks lag between rates and hospitalisations and my area was nowhere near 2,800 two weeks ago, so we're seeing the result of that weeks infections in hospitals now.

Omicron is going to have to be much, much, much milder with these rates. Fingers and toes very firmly crossed that it is.

Crunchymum · 21/12/2021 09:47

My borough is now 1936/100k

Very, very worrying!

So is this is what most of the UK can expect over the coming weeks seeing how fast rates have increased in the South East and London?

ThinkAboutItTomorrow · 21/12/2021 10:39

Similar in Wandsworth

70% of that are group are double jabbed as well.

I guess the big question is whether this means the vaccine + booster is working in older age groups or just that it's not spread yet. And if it's just not spread yet will serious illness & hospitalisations go up a lot when it does?

NotSonicTheHedgehog · 21/12/2021 10:42

NE and Yorkshire have the lowest (I think) rates of Omicron in the country

North Staffs and we’re on 778 per 100,000, the highest it’s ever been.

Scientist on BBC News this morning said at these figures it would have to be at least 20 to 30 times less serious than Delta for it not be a problem. Basically we’re stuffed.

Spidey66 · 21/12/2021 13:51

1,566 in Haringey now. Doubled in a week.

Blubells · 21/12/2021 13:53

So far it's looking positive! Fingers crossed it stays that way!

BeesRGood · 21/12/2021 14:01

Inner SE London, 2033/100k !

Curious to see if it will go up or down today!
