I haven’t seen this advertised anywhere though and dh hasn’t been contacted.

Did he?

CEV is a term that is no longer used, as far as I know.

Some immunosuppressed people need a third jab as well as a booster.

bailey999 · 15/12/2021 17:33

Yes I noticed that, my dh has only had 2 x vaccine and 1 x booster.

PeterPomegranate · 15/12/2021 17:34

I thought CV people were offered 3 vaccinations (same type) plus a booster (Pfizer or Moderna). So yes that’s 4 altogether.

kimlo · 15/12/2021 17:36

yes, 3 primary and a booster.

AnnaMagnani · 15/12/2021 17:37

It's not all CEV and they have already been contacting those affected

Abraxan · 15/12/2021 17:37

Some CEV people - not all, just a smaller group who are more severely immune-compromised - have already been told this. It's not new information. They were told they needed 3 vaccines as their normal amount, plus the booster,

TheCatInTheChat · 15/12/2021 17:38

This isn’t new information. It’s just those who are severely immune compromised, they will have received a letter from their hospital consultant about it.

Rowdythree · 15/12/2021 17:38

My DH was contacted this morning by his GP to book in for a fourth covid jab, which was quite surprising. Great that his surgery were ahead of the game though!

hopeishere · 15/12/2021 17:38

My husband is in this category and he will get another jab at the end of January. So he will have had four jabs.

Hizz · 15/12/2021 17:41

It's nothing new and it's just the immunosuppressed because the vaccines don't work as well.
I've had three and will get 4th in January.

Fluffycloudland77 · 15/12/2021 17:44

Dh is under 5 different consultants at the moment. He’s speaking to Thoracic medicine on Monday so maybe they’ll know if he should have it.

They already were, yes. My dad had his third and has to go back for a booster later.
Covidworries · 15/12/2021 17:46

Meanwhile CEV under 12 yr olds havent be able to have 1 vaccine and are still expected to be in school

FuzzyPuffling · 15/12/2021 17:48

DH who is CEV has had a third primary dose and will be offered a booster in 6 months or so.
This has been well publicised.

FuzzyPuffling · 15/12/2021 17:49

Sorry, typo...3 months, not 6.

FuzzyPuffling · 15/12/2021 17:49

Also the third primary is not necessarily the same sort; DH had AZ, AZ, Pfizer.

onlyreadingneverposting8 · 15/12/2021 17:51

My severely immunocompromised DS hasn't heard anything. He got a booster today....

RuthW · 15/12/2021 17:52

You will get a letter from your consultant if this applies to you.

onlyreadingneverposting8 · 15/12/2021 17:52

DS (19) has had AZ, AZ, Pfizer

nether · 15/12/2021 17:53

The 500,000 who had third primary will get their booster as 4th shot - thus was announced as intention in September, confirmed therafter and reannounced a week or so ago

And again today, it seems.

It's not all the CEV who qualify, it's the immune suppressed - all those with blood cancer, those with solid organ transplants, those on certain kinds of cancer treatment, those on certain levels of immune-suppressing drugs. Info here:

www.england.nhs.uk/coronavirus/publication/updated-jcvi-guidance-for-vaccinating-immunosuppressed-individuals-with-a-third-primary-dose/

Cherrytart23 · 15/12/2021 17:53

He should of had a letter from gp my mum had a 3rd jab awhile ago and will receive booster end of feb

Chloemol · 15/12/2021 17:58

No what he said was immunosuppressive people needed 3 jabs plus booster, not all CEV

If you are immunosuppressed you would have been advised of this

Get your facts right before starting hares running

Fluffycloudland77 · 15/12/2021 17:59

While we’re all here have any of you read about Astra Zenecas new drug that injects the immune suppressed with ready made antibodies incase they didn’t make antibodies to the vaccination? It’s called Evushield. The FDA have approved it and the UK have a million doses on order.

It’s not in place of a vaccine but it is a prophylactic treatment.

nodogz · 15/12/2021 18:07

Well I'm in that group (just checked the guidance) and knew nothing until I had my booster.

The nurse was very unsure if it was a 3rd dose or a booster and that I might need another jab in feb 22.

Messaged drs directly and they haven't responded. No comms. from consultant. Did get a letter/texts from gov ages ago but it just mentioned booster (and I couldn't book a spot).

It has not been well publicised. (Work in health related field so thought I'd have seen something via my social network.

Mickarooni · 15/12/2021 18:11

The vast majority of people who need the 3 primary vaccines plus a booster either already know or have been contacted.
You can look at the criteria and ascertain if you were on immune suppressants at the time of your initial 2 vaccines.
