Went in to Norwich ASDA today first time been to in months but the 25% off 6 bottles of wine lured me in, I was amazed at how many people of all ages were not wearing face coverings, is it that we are now so fed up and numb from all the Covid hype that we don’t care or is it the frustration of having Boris and his cronies getting away with it time and time again, like the party that was not a party or the second jobs or the £840.00 rolls of wallpaper that he decorated his flat with that we don't wear on on principal ?, cos we all do that don’t we £840.00 per roll that’s as much as some people take home in a month, anyway I understand some people have certain medical conditions where they don’t have to wear a face covering but why is it they always appear in twos ?, how does that work is there a website called lanyards .com where they arrange to go shopping together, any way got the wine NO Turkeys should be some in stock later so they said not getting my hopes up.

Ooh apologies- that was to @Lacedwithgrace

Moonface123 · 14/12/2021 19:38

life is alot easier when you just focus on yourself and your own business.

MaskingForIt · 14/12/2021 19:42

OP, did you confuse Mumsnet with your blog?

I went into an ASDA and no-one was wearing masks (except me). Then I went into a Booths and everyone was wearing a mask. Make of that what you will.

And that is how children are abused and killed. Good job 👍🏻
EightWheelGirl · 14/12/2021 19:44

Everybody seems to be wearing them round here.

I have names changed for this . As want to be really honest .. and what I want to say is probably controversial although it should t be...

People who don't wear masks are literally stupid. Lacking the intellect to understand what masks are all about ..

They are NOT ABOUT YOU !! They are about your ability to PASS the virus in to someone who could die if they contracted the virus from YOU !!

You may well have Covid but have no symptoms. You go to a petrol station and stand in a queue to pay... YOU have no mask. Your droplets as you speak hit the Perspex shield at the pay desk... the next person to pay cannot wear a mask... he has stage 3 prostate cancer and asthma.. he breathed in YOUR droplets . Gets Covid and dies.

You killed him by not wearing a mask....

saleorbouy · 14/12/2021 20:12

Visited family in England a few weeks ago and was amazed how many people walked past the hand sanitier station and didn't wear masks at the Sainsburys I went to.
No wonder the U.K is in such a predicament with Covid, some people seem oblivious to the simple personal measures they can take to help themselves and others.
I also didn't have my Covid cert checked once during the whole trip, not even in the airport or boarding the plane.

the80sweregreat · 14/12/2021 20:13

I agree that they are selfish, but I also can't get that worked up about it either. I feel sorry for those who genuinely can't wear one, but many are just making a point and it is a bit childish
It's only my opinion though ,which I do keep to myself because what is the point of arguing ?
People wouldn't listen anyway !

You u see I can get worked up about people who kill others for the sake of putting on a mask !! Literally... your mother dead or wear a piece of cloth over your nose and mouth..
Tal45 · 14/12/2021 20:20

I don't understand why people make such a big baby fuss over putting on a mask, honestly it turns people into defiant toddlers. It's not stopping you from living your life, it's not stopping you from doing anything, it's just potentially protecting other people and maybe even you. It's such a little thing it's just pathetic.

the80sweregreat · 14/12/2021 20:26

What's the point in getting in a lather?
At the beginning of all this the experts said masks were a waste of time ! I know they changed the narrative, but the mixed messages did not help
I keep 2m apart and have to wear one at work and I don't go out that much anyway .
I still caught covid ..
I'll wear a mask, but I can't control other people so there isn't any point getting upset about it.

FWIW I agree with you, but all of the special snowflakes will come out of the woodwork and say they can’t wear one because someone once pulled their pony tail and now they are triggered.

Singapore et al must have incredibly low rates of rapes and ASD because everyone there wears one.

Isn't Norwich in Norfolk?
Where the turkeys come from?
Y'know, Bernard...

Enjoying the wine?

@CBroads

I don't care about covid anymore, simple as that. Johnson has had our pants down from the start, one rule for the elite, another rule for the working class.

I'm 25 and lost some of the best years of my life because of covid, I refuse to waste anymore of my time, I don't care what the impact is.
I'm not wearing a mask, haven't worn one since last year and I honestly couldn't care less, if anyone questions me ill literally blank their existence out.
If you're scared stay in your hole, let the people who aren't scared and actually want a life have one.
Do you wait for Boris to tell you when to wipe your arse too?

I never stopped wearing a mask in shops and on public transport. What Johnson says makes no difference.

I don't care what the impact is That attitude says rather a lot about you.

I do wonder if any of those telling us that if we don't wear masks we're literally killing people are the same people who were telling me I was an idiot for wearing one in March 2020 as the government had said they didn't work. Grin

I wear one when it's sensible to. Supermarket yes. Busy train yes. Empty train possibly not. Pub between walking in and sitting down definitely not. And once I take one off, it goes in the 'dirty mask' pocket of my bag - not back on my face later.

Enjoy the wine, OP!

It's still worth wearing one on an empty train, because whatever you breathe out will stay there after you get off. Whoever gets on after you will be breathing in what you've breathed out, so wearing a mask to reduce the amount of covid in that even a bit is still worthwhile.

47PussyCatEatingPigsInBlankets - Yes, couldn't go travelling or anything. Must be hard for you lot getting to experience everything you wanted to in your 20's including buying a house for about 3K, I'm not putting my life on hold to save yours, never again.
Have you been partaking of the Asda wine deal too?
vera99 · 14/12/2021 22:58

Those not wearing them give me a good nudge to keep out of the way if that's their approach.

CBroads · 14/12/2021 23:03

57Claudethecat - I don't drink, it's very unhealthy.
Imagine my heartache when all of the gyms closed... no more lockdowns.
Also you need to read up on sarcasm, recognising it isn't one of your strong suits.

Claudethecat · 14/12/2021 23:16

Oh sorry! I do have a bit of trouble recognising sarcasm, it is true. There was me thinking you were just being nasty.

fournonblondes · 14/12/2021 23:17

I think you may be numb from the alcohol. From an international perspective I can assure you that the examples to bring a government in down in the U.K. are laughable. I really do not think people care much about wallpaper or xmas parties but if anything BJ or this government is doing wrong is over reacting about the omicron.
