Has anyone been able to book their Covid booster?

Been trying for about an hour, getting a “you’re currently 6472 in the queue” message, then it cycles between NHS number / DOB / asking if I’m immunocompromised. Once I managed to enter postcode to check covid centres but then crashed again

Just wondering if anyone has been able to do it?

Booked ours yesterday for 28/12.

Vanillacupcake33 · 13/12/2021 21:19

I managed to do it. It said I was 12000 in a que but it went down really quick and the pages did crash but I just reloaded it or went back and it went back on the page I was on. It was abit irritating having to keep doing it though

I booked mine last week and had it today. Dh booked his today and has it on Wednesday after work.

LikeACatInTheDark · 14/12/2021 13:26

@LikeACatInTheDark

I have mine tomorrow morning at my GP surgery; I phoned earlier and they're doing a weekly drop in style clinic. Arranged directly with them, couldn't get through to 119 at all today.
All went smoothly - really glad I've had it done.

Afternoon everyone - we've moved this to our Coronavirus topic now.

MsSquiz · 14/12/2021 13:31

DH booked for him and me yesterday afternoon, around 2ish after 20-25 mins of waiting in a queue and there was lots of availability in our area (Newcastle) and we're booked for next Tuesday

Voldermortsballsack · 14/12/2021 13:47

We booked ours on Sunday directly through the GP surgery. They sent everyone a text with a link and we booked immediately!

They must have preempted the announcement Smile

I’m 35 and DH is 37

Google it, I think it’s 28 days from the day of your positive test until you can have the booster

I have literally just done this.

Mid-twenties.

Meredusoleil · 14/12/2021 18:59

Yes. 28 days after positive test result. That is what my dh is waiting for too!

generalh · 14/12/2021 19:02

Just had a letter today for next Tuesday.

waterlego · 14/12/2021 19:15

I looked at the main NHS booking system a few days ago but it was offering appointments at a centre about 45 mins drive away. I decided to wait a few days to see if any nearer centres came up and today I got a text from my surgery inviting me to book in at their clinic locally, so I’m booked in for Saturday.

Thorilicious · 14/12/2021 22:32

Check out walk in centres too. I queued for an hour today, but I've been boosted. I've cancelled my pre booked appointment.

RainingYetAgain · 14/12/2021 22:39

DS (28)had a text from GP surgery this evening. Have availabiltiy for Sarurday lunchtime.

Duchess379 · 14/12/2021 22:59

I'm going tomorrow morning 👍🏼

Sunsetsupernova · 14/12/2021 23:00

I’m 29 and just booked for Saturday afternoon

middleager · 14/12/2021 23:09

Got mine today, walk in. I'm 48. I was due to be vaccinated next week after a 2 week wait.

I've been registered with 2 different doctor's surgeries during Covid, yet neither deliver vaccinations, so I'm always impressed on here there seem to be so many surgeries delivering vaccinations and sending invites, much be so much easier!

slowtik · 14/12/2021 23:12

Phoned surgery today, booked in for 2 days time

RedHot22 · 14/12/2021 23:27

I just can’t get an appointment for my DM. It’s really stressing me out and every time they open up to another younger age group I feel she’s pushed further back. It’s now 8 months since her 2nd vacc so she possibly has no protection at all.

Ontopofthesunset · 14/12/2021 23:55

My 20 year old son has just booked via the NHS website for next week. My 23 year old was invited to a follow up clinic for his last weekend (the same clinic where he had his first two has reopened for boosters).

Hapoydayz · 14/12/2021 23:57

Yes, all good here. Very efficient.

RedHot22 · 15/12/2021 06:26

I’ve been trying again overnight and still can’t get DM booked in. Very stressed and annoyed. It shouldn’t be this difficult.

RedHot22 · 15/12/2021 06:28

So here we are another Christmas on and once again we have the choice of putting her at significant risk or her spending Christmas alone.

PheasantsNest · 15/12/2021 06:36

@RedHot22 Can't you take her to a walk in and you queue up and let her sit in the car until it's her turn?
