Why can't people wear masks?

Properly!!!! It drives me insane!!!!

Either wear it or don't, but for the love of god stop wearing it on your chin or under your nose because it's doing fuck all

Surely it's not rocket science?

I was on a flight yesterday and would say a large amount of passengers were wandering around with masks under their chins, or just over their mouths

It's like last year all over again with the mask threads.

Sigh.

Goldentimes · 06/12/2021 19:19

Masks have always been a bit pointless but sure we knew that a long long long time ago. It's all about the Vax versus unvaxed these days Hmm

Skyll · 06/12/2021 19:21

Here we go again.

Many people are clearly only wearing masks to avoid confrontation or "getting into trouble". Masks aren't particularly pleasant to wear for a long period of time, so who can blame anyone for breathing a bit of fresh air?

Completely agree. I do pull it up if I’m close to people but otherwise I keep my nose clear.

I’ve noticed people pulling it down to speak now too - good - masks massively hinder communication.

Invasionofthegutsnatchers · 06/12/2021 19:54

Beary? Nearly

Suzi888 · 06/12/2021 19:56

YANBU wear one, or don’t. I’m not bothered. But if you do wear one, stop sticking your snout out 🤣or pulling it down under your chin entirely Confused

Actually mask wearing cuts spread of covid by over 50%!

Watapalava · 06/12/2021 19:57

I wear mine on my chin too to avoid getting pulled up by security etc

I never actually wear it properly and won’t ever unless at imminent risk of fine

Was in major city at weekend and most didn’t have them on or not on right

GiveMeNovocain · 06/12/2021 19:58

Masks really do bring out the best in everyone. It's lovely how they've brought us all together

Mincepiepoptarts · 06/12/2021 20:03

Yaaaaawn

GreenLunchBox · 06/12/2021 20:05

I watched someone pull her mask down every time she needed to cough. Lovely!Confused

Sunshinegirl82 · 06/12/2021 20:09

Lots of people don't want to wear them and are only doing so because they're being made to. I'm not saying that's right but I think it's why you see so many being worn incorrectly.

Malvarrosa · 06/12/2021 20:13

Where I am, masks aren't required on the street but I'd say about 80% of the population are wearing them voluntarily. When I see someone with the mask pulled down or even holding it rather than wearing it, I assume they've taken it off temporarily - to eat, drink, pop a breath mint or gum, have a smoke, or just get a little air - and will put it back on. I often see people sit down on bench, etc. and take the mask off, then put it on properly when they get up to go.

It's quite different behaviour than when masks first became widespread, when people were warned not to touch the mask with bare hands and if you took it off for any reason you had to put a fresh one on.

Think about the average intelligence level in the UK.

Then remember that half the population is less intelligent than that.

No wonder so many don’t wear them properly, they’re just not bright enough to understand why.

What an arrogant and bizarre comment

I’m so glad to see we can all have adult intelligent discussions about these things rather than just immediately being abusive….

Buzzinwithbez · 06/12/2021 22:20

Can only speak for myself. I go light headed, then the floor starts to move like an old bouncy lift.

I don't care where our how others wear their masks. I much prefer seeing faces properly.

stuckinsouthafrica · 06/12/2021 22:22

Just back from SA (ironically, and yes, am in quarantine hotel, where mask wearing is mandatory. Everywhere. Inside. Outside. Never did I see anyone with one on chin or not in at all.

It’s not abusive at all. Masks reduce transmission, so we should wear them properly. Those who fail to mask properly are clearly not a full quid as they don’t want to take a simple basic precaution to reduce transmission. You’d have to be a bit thick to think a mask on the chin or with the nose peeping out is having any effect at all.

You seem nice.
brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr · 06/12/2021 22:48

at this point in the pandemic I have no patience any more for people who selfishly refuse to take a basic precaution to reduce transmission

Whyisitsodifficult · 06/12/2021 22:48

Masks are as effective as a pair of pants holding a fart in!

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 06/12/2021 22:50

I hate the things. If I'm in a shop with my dd I hate age can't see me smiling. I can't see properly with them on as the bunch up around your face. Theyre horrid.

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 06/12/2021 22:50

She not age
