Anyone had a PCR recently and can share how long it took for the results to come in please?

Got one child isolating at home with symptoms. Second child isolating under school rules. Hoping second child can go back tomorrow if we get a negative result.

I posted mine on Tuesday. Still heard nothing..

DunderMifflinSalesRep · 03/12/2021 11:15

Still waiting here. Doesn't look like the kids will be in school today. Child who needed the test is perfectly fine today as well Hmm

This is what annoys me most about the whole thing, I've got bit of a cough, but In general I'm absolutely fine and could be isolating for nothing just because the tests are taking so long. It'll be nearly 3 days for me 😣😣 I'm in the North, not sure if it makes any difference or if they all get sent same place.
Toddlerteaplease · 03/12/2021 12:29

Had one done yesterday morning at 11am. Had the results by 3am this morning.

snackcurator · 03/12/2021 13:54

Test at 8am. Result through at midnight so 16 hours.

Cookiedough41 · 03/12/2021 15:23

Tested yesterday 10:30am at a mobile centre. Still waiting..this is in Scotland. Previous results have been less than 24 hours including a positive result

hollyivysaurus · 03/12/2021 15:54

I’m still waiting (30 hours post test currently) - I’m a teacher so it should have been one of the priority ones too! My son has had quite a lot of tests and his are usually back in 24 hours or less. I’m guessing there is a high demand for testing currently?

Nomorecoco · 03/12/2021 19:16

I'm at about 50 hours now, I rang to chase earlier and I was told they can't tell me anything until 72 hours so I need to ring back tomorrow on day 3 exactly, and not a minute earlier apparently Angry

squirrelnutkinz · 03/12/2021 19:18

Tested at 9.30am, results came through at 11am the next day.

minimoojo · 03/12/2021 19:20

Kaffiene · 03/12/2021 19:22

This week Scotland we have had 9 hours!!!! 20 , 21 and 27 hours. Feel like I live in the bloody test centre

LublinToDublin · 03/12/2021 19:31

quite a variation - I came on to see if there was a current thread.
I posted tests mid morning Wednesday and not heard yet. It's my birthday this weekend and would like to know if I'm clear or not!
I know we don't have to isolate, but I still feel wary and feel I need to at least let people know.

AnnoyedByAlfieBear · 03/12/2021 19:33

I had one Wednesday and got the results in slightly less that 16 hours.

Nootkah · 03/12/2021 20:52

MumbleCrumbs · 03/12/2021 23:00

Did a home test for DS on Tuesday and it still isn't back, they are now investigating which takes up to three days by which point he'll have probably isolated for ten days anyway. He's so fed up Sad.

afrikat · 03/12/2021 23:01

We've had quite a few recently and they have all come through between 6 and 8am the following day

Sunshinealligator · 03/12/2021 23:02

DH tested over 48 hours ago, no results yet..
