Not vaccinated but need to show Covid pass...

wineislife21 · 29/11/2021 20:28

Basically I need to show a covid pass to get into the venue of my works Xmas do.

I haven't been vaccinated but have seen I can get a negative PCR and still have a 'Covid pass' as such.

My question is does the Covid pass on the app appear as a PR code scrambled picture thingy whether it's a double jabbed pass or a negative PCR result?

Hope that makes sense.

OP posts:

Come on, did that really deserve a deletion?!

Yep just do that eh OP. Who cares if you’re asymptotic and infect a load of people. It doesn’t really matter does it Hmm[/quote]
But people with Covid passes can do that

Well I think it's illegal, so 🤷🏻‍♀️

@SnugKnights

How do you know someone who's vaccinated isn't carrying Covid and infecting a load of people? There's no way to know if you have Covid unless you have a positive PCR. So everyone going to this event could pass on Covid.
Are the vaccinated being asked to show a negative test result?

Gilly12345 · 29/11/2021 21:43

You want to go to your worked Xmas party and mingle with people and you are unvaccinated? 😮😮😮😮😮😮😮

Lostinacloud · 29/11/2021 21:46

The fact OP isn’t vaccinated is irrelevant. If she attends she will need a negative test as the alternative to a recovery certificate or a vaccination proof. Surely this actually means that the OP will be one of the few who actually tested themselves ahead of the event and knows they are negative and not going to infect anyone else. Do try and remember that not everybody has Covid 365/7 days per week!

Serendipity79 · 29/11/2021 21:47

Im vaccinated and when i open the app it offers me the option of getting my Covid pass. When i select domestic, (the other option is travel) It brings up a QR code my name, DOB and has a date of expiry on it which looks to be 6 months since second vaccination. Its an actual "pass" by the look of it.

I've had to take LFT's twice a week for ages and when you register it that simply sends you an email which give you a result. You perhaps need to ask the venue if its definitely a Covid pass you need as opposed to a negative test result?

LivingTheLifeofMum · 29/11/2021 21:51

Wow OP - I'm also unvaccinated and I braced myself when I opened this thread for some vitriolic responses to your original post but so far I'm shocked at the number of normal helpful replies 👏🏼

I'm following with interest as have no idea how a Covid pass works in terms of a negative test x

OnTheBoardwalk · 29/11/2021 22:00

@Dreamstate

A friend had to show a negative test and used lateral flow test. Didnt even do the test, just opened the kit and plugged in the barcode number and also it was negative.

Thats how stupid these tests are. People can fake results

This!

I know someone who just dropped the liquid onto the test strip and got a negative response. Took a picture and reported it as negative on the app

I still test myself before and after events but am not filled with confidence on the results for the masses

You're surprised that people are stupid and selfish?
Lovemydogsmorethananything · 29/11/2021 22:05

As long as you have the NHS app when you enter all your details from the LFT it links it to your nhs details and will show as a QR code on the app the same as anyone who's been vaccinated but yours will only give a date of 2 days ahead.

@OnTheBoardwalk I call bullshite on this. If you just poured the liquid into the specimen well or didn't swab far enough to get an accurate sample your test would show no line and come back inconclusive.

I agree people can lie that they've tested, or lie about the results but you can't "trick" the actual test.

After she takes a test.

A vaccinated person could turn up having left a covid positive partner and kids at home and having done no test.

To have the covid pass to show at a venue OP needs to record her LFT option to access a venue. Then check her linked covid pass account and the Pass with a code will be automatically uploaded within minutes. Print a copy, use the app or send the code via email to show at the venue. It's valid for 48 hours.

Why on earth would I lie about this after being told from someone who I know rather than a random on MN telling me it’s bullshit?

Have you tried it yourself? I trust the idiot who told my this rather than a random

Not everyone can be vaccinated but with proper precautions, as OP is doing, can probably mingle with people more ‘safely’ than vaxxed people who don’t test before events 😮😮😮😮😮😮😮

I’m fully vaxxed but passive agressive faux horror posts boil my piss. Just as bad as the anti vax lot only a lot more disablest and sly.

They can. But vaccinated people can enter venues with symptoms. I’ve heard of a few vaccinated people who had symptoms, not doing a PCR in case they were positive as they didn’t want to risk having to isolate. We can only hope that most people are being responsible.

The date of expiry is for one month from the day you download the QR code. If you do it again next week, the expiry date will be a week later than the one you see today.

It's not the test which is the stupid thing in this story.
gogohm · 29/11/2021 22:22

I've been to several places that are no vaccine no entry - why not just get vaccinated, you'll get a card from that vaccine

Gladioli23 · 29/11/2021 22:24

I reckon you should probably do a test and register it the day the tests arrive as well as immediately before the party. The app will have to link to your reported test result and I wouldn't want to only rely on it coming through if it was the day of the party - it might be quite a lot of stress if they aren't linked up correctly or something.

If you do one as soon as you get them then you've got a test run to see e.g. how long it takes for the data to flow through (does it only come through when they do batch runs overnight etc etc).

As opposed to a vaccinated person who hasn't even bothered checking to find out if they're carrying Covid??

Seriously. Some of the PRO VAX people really are THIS STUPID.

Would much rather mingle with a non vaccinated person who has just tested negative than a vaccinated person who has no bloody clue whether they're infectious or not.

Shehasadiamondinthesky · 29/11/2021 22:36

If they are requesting a vaccine pass you won't get in. I have to have one to get into nursing homes when I do community work. My fellow podiatrists who are not vaccinated and therefore do not have a QR code than can be scanned cant go in.
A negative lateral flow test is not a vaccination pass. Best ring the venue and ask if they will accept just a lateral flow. They might not.
