Did you get side effects with your booster?

If so, how many hours after the injection did they start? I've got a couple of dates to choose from and I'm wondering if I'd be OK to go to an event in the evening after having my jab in the afternoon. Thanks in advance for any info.

Meant 10.30 am!

Justtrying · 27/11/2021 19:08

36 hours post Pzier booster after initial 2 AZ doses. Sore arm that feels like it's been thumped and a bit of a headache. But that could be due to work stress to be honest. Paracetamol is keeping the edge off it.

Mantlemoose · 27/11/2021 19:09

4 or 5 hours after. So I'll I had to call doc and submit yellow card report

Fluffycloudland77 · 27/11/2021 19:10

Sore arm in hours.

Vivana · 27/11/2021 19:33

Had my booster today moderns fell asleep for four hours but still early days. Will update

YouHaveNoAuthorityHereJackie · 27/11/2021 19:37

I had AZ for my first two, and both floored me for 2 days afterwards, starting about 12 hours after the jab. I had moderna booster last Friday lunchtime and woke up about 2am feeling a bit poorly, and spent all of Saturday in bed, feeling very tired and fluey. Was absolutely fine the next day. So all have affected me similarly but the side effects from the booster seemed to pass more quickly.

Paleodiet · 27/11/2021 19:45

Had 2 Pfizer jabs, then Moderna booster. 24 hours after the booster I developed a headache and nausea which went on for several hours. I vomited once. By the evening I felt better.

parentallyadept · 27/11/2021 19:47

I had the Pfizer booster yesterday (I had the AZ originally) and it's totally floored me - headache, muscle aches, sleepy, nauseous and a temperature. Very much like when I actually had Covid! I didn't have a reaction with either of my AZ jabs

Bathshebahardy · 27/11/2021 19:53

I had my booster mid afternoon and started with a sore/heavy arm at bed time. Symptoms started around 8 hours after vaccination.
I slept very heavily and felt tired for a couple of days.

alborana · 27/11/2021 19:54

I had the best night's sleep I'd had in 6 months. It was wonderful. If that's a side effect then it was great! Nothing else, not even a sore arm.

solania · 27/11/2021 19:55

We both had booster yesterday afternoon. DH and I both felt nauseous today and this evening (>24hrs later) I have watery diarrhoea, but I don't feel unwell atm, just keep dashing!

Languagethoughts · 27/11/2021 19:57

Had Moderna booster having previously had 2 x AZ. Had booster late morning. For the rest of that day I had an achy arm but nothing else. The following day I was so exhausted that I spent the whole day in bed! Didn't feel desperately ill, but did feel like I was fighting off a bug. The day after that I was back to normal again apart from my arm still being slightly achy.

SonicBroom · 27/11/2021 20:00

Pfizer after 2xAZ.

Day 1 fine but v sore arm that night
Day 2 ok but headache, a bit sore everywhere, tired
Day 3 EXHAUSTED, absolutely wiped out. Could barely do anything so went to bed

qate · 27/11/2021 20:07

Had Pfizer booster after two Pfizer jabs - slight tender arm (in the underarm area) - started probably the day after, and lasted for a couple of days. But pretty inconsequential and didn't affect anything at all (ie work/childcare etc). DH was exactly the same.

TheWatersofMarch · 27/11/2021 20:16

No

waltzingparrot · 27/11/2021 20:25

I was absolutely fine for 48 hours and then had the mother of all headaches for the next five days.

Allmyarseandpeggymartin · 27/11/2021 20:28

Had pzizer after 2 AZs. Sore arm that went in a few day and felt knackered 24 hours later - nothing that a nap and a good nights sleep didn’t fix

Figmentofmyimagination · 28/11/2021 08:25

I had no reaction to the two AZ vaccinations but following the moderna booster 8 days ago I began to feel generally unwell, culminating 5 days later in a resurgence of interstitial cystitis symptoms that have been dormant for a year. Could be coincidence but very wearing.

GlomOfNit · 28/11/2021 09:00

No point really in canvassing others' experiences, the range seems so wide!

I had my booster recently (I'm all Pfizer) and this time I barely had a sore arm. Spent that evening (maybe 10 hours later??) feeling pretty tired but nothing terrible. Fine the next day. First two doses I felt very tired for one day, a bit headachey, arm soreness more acute and lasted longer.

Tomeeornottomee · 28/11/2021 09:07

DH and I had ours at the same time. Neither of us had any side effects apart from a very sore arm for a couple of days

UnicyclingBabies · 28/11/2021 09:29

GlomofNit there is a range but nobody seems to be reporting symptoms starting only a few hours later which is what I was interested to know. So it is useful in fact.

Thanks to all who have contributed n

@UnicyclingBabies

Thanks for these replies... if you haven't already said so, I'd love to hear WHEN the side effects started if possible... if it's 12 hours later I'll be fine, if it's say 6 hours later then I'd better pick a different day to be safe.
Purely anecdotal from friends and family, IF people had side effects the second 24 hrs were worse than the first. But a huge range in that from feeling a bit fluey to a bit of a headache to taking to their bed!
crimsonlake · 28/11/2021 09:50

I had the Pfeizer booster on Thursday, least painful arm out of all the jabs. 24 hrs later I became very shivery and my skin felt sore all over from it. Woke up with a stonking headache, still feeling mildly sickly today.

DontWantTheRivalry · 28/11/2021 09:53

I have Pfizer for my first two jabs and felt absolutely fine.

I then had Pfizer for my booster (2 days ago) and five hours after having the injection I got a dull headache and my limbs started to ache and I also felt exhausted. I went to bed really early and fell asleep straight away which is very unlike me.

I woke up the next morning (yesterday) and every joint in my body was aching - even the joints in my fingers. It felt like my body was really heavy and it was an effort to do anything. I also felt a little bit nauseous but I was still able to eat and drink normally. I did have to take painkillers throughout the day to relieve the soreness/heaviness of my joints and limbs.

I’ve woken up this morning and although some of my joints still feel a little bit sore I’m much, much better than I was yesterday.

ODFOgrinch · 28/11/2021 09:56

I had booster yesterday and was fine apart from a sore arm by evening. This morning I can't get my temperature down below 40C, have a sore throat and can barely keep my eyes open. I'm hoping it is the booster and nothing else.
