If so, how many hours after the injection did they start? I've got a couple of dates to choose from and I'm wondering if I'd be OK to go to an event in the evening after having my jab in the afternoon. Thanks in advance for any info.

It's like how long is a piece of string. Everyone is different. You can't really tell, how things are going to go.

gamerchick · 27/11/2021 18:08

Just a sore arm. Which is still sore 3 days later. I did need a nanna nap a few hours after it but that's all.

QueenofLouisiana · 27/11/2021 18:09

After 24 hrs I was a bit cold and shivery. Went to bed, woke up fine.
I had moderna and had Covid 8 weeks before my booster, in case that is relevant!

Twerking9to5 · 27/11/2021 18:14

I haven’t but DH had a moderna booster after 2 original Astra Zeneca’s. The booster really affected him - started on the eve he had the jab and lasted a couple of days. Feverish/shivery and just feeling ill. But like a pp said, everyone reacts so differently so you might be fine!

bigbluebus · 27/11/2021 18:21

I had Moderna after previously having Astra Zeneca. Only side effect after AZ was slightly sore arm. After Moderna booster I had a very sore arm for 2 days which started a few hours after the jab - jab at 4pm and couldn't sleep on that arm that night. Then 24 hours later I was shivery and achey but nothing that 2 paracetamol and a good night's sleep couldn't sort out. Back to my exercise class the following morning.

Snozzlemaid · 27/11/2021 18:23

Nothing at all

AnneLovesGilbert · 27/11/2021 18:24

Really sore and itchy arm, appeared within a couple of hours, got much worse and had limited range then very bruised, settled within a couple of days. First two were AZ, had different side effects with the second dose. Had Pfizer as booster.

VeronicaBeccabunga · 27/11/2021 18:25

Moderna after two AZs made me cold and shivery and generally 'meh' for a day or so.

FawnFrenchieMum · 27/11/2021 18:26

I have Pfizer after having AZ for the first two and was absolutely floored by it!
Had it Saturday afternoon, was fine Sunday. Off it Monday and in bed all day Tuesday!

UnicyclingBabies · 27/11/2021 18:31

Thanks for these replies... if you haven't already said so, I'd love to hear WHEN the side effects started if possible... if it's 12 hours later I'll be fine, if it's say 6 hours later then I'd better pick a different day to be safe.

Had 2 x AZ and Pfizer booster earlier this week. After the booster I had a slight tenderness around the injection site for a couple of days & felt a bit tired but nothing serious. Felt worse after my flu shot tbh.

AnneLovesGilbert · 27/11/2021 18:33

Sore arm was within a couple of hours. But it wouldn’t have stopped me doing much.

toolazytothinkofausername · 27/11/2021 18:36

Tired the next day. Spent the day in bed.

TheMooch · 27/11/2021 18:36

Pfizer - had the booster in the afternoon, came home and fell asleep for a few hours (not like me, hate sleeping in the day).

Didn't have any wine that night (was a Saturday) but felt alright, just a little drained.

saltontoast · 27/11/2021 18:38

My mum had a stomach complaint but she's not sure if it was related to her booster or not

MabelMoo23 · 27/11/2021 18:40

I had moderna last night after AZ initial vaccines.

I feel dreadful today. Really really sore achy arm, whole body aches and I feel pretty shocking

Really hoping tomorrow I feel ok

TomatoTomatalo · 27/11/2021 18:42

Really, really sore arm that started a few hours later and lasted until the next day. So painful that I couldn't drive or sleep 🙈

cate16 · 27/11/2021 18:43

I had the Pfizer after 2xAZ.
Had it a 1.30pm, woke up at around 4am with a VERY brief hot sweat- then wide awake, as in really wanting to do housework awake! Got up got loads of stuff done, this continued until that evening, shattered around 7pm. Bath, early night back to normal next day.
Weird - but I got so much done. :)

FromTheAshes · 27/11/2021 18:46

I had a headache and minor joint aches from 24 - 36 hours after the jab, but nothing but an achy arm before that

RoseMartha · 27/11/2021 18:48

Only very sore and heavy arm

Topseyt · 27/11/2021 18:51

Two times Astrazeneca for my initial course of vaccine. No reaction at all.

Pfizer for my booster about a month ago now. No reaction again.

Katyy · 27/11/2021 18:55

Two AZ then moderna. Side effects started 24 hours later shivery tired no appetite.

Hassled · 27/11/2021 18:56

I felt awful - but then I felt awful after vaccine 1 ( weirdly fine with vaccine 2). Properly horrendous - I just could not get warm, I could not shift the headache from hell, I was tired in that awful hangover with 2 hours sleep sort of way.
But the next morning I was absolutely fine - like it had never happened.

Gingerlovesbiscuits · 27/11/2021 18:58

Had Moderna booster after 2 AZ jabs. Had jab in morning then woke up following morning feeling nauseous. My tummy stayed unsettled for a few hours but was better by lunchtime. Felt ok after that, just a bit tired.

Mayim · 27/11/2021 19:05

Had the Pfizer booster at 0.30 yesterday, previously had 2x AZ. Fine until 11.00pm last night, then felt very cold and ended up with a fleece and jumper over my night wear, plus another duvet.

I felt too tired to go out for our usual long walk this morning and have an awful headache. I have been asleep on and off all day. The side effects have been similar to when I had my first jab.
