DD had one at 8.30 this morning- wondering if there's any chance of an 8 hour turnaround so she can see school play this eve....

11 hours during half term, we are south west England

Sweetandsaltycaroline · 16/11/2021 13:38

Ours have usually been 14-20 hours. (7 visits - when 2 of us have tested at the same time the results always came together)

prettybird · 16/11/2021 15:00

PCR test at drive-through centre at 1.15pm, I got my (positive) result back at 6.30pm, but dh's didn't come through until the following morning.

I knew it would be positive through as I'd had a positive LFT, as had dh.

prettybird · 16/11/2021 15:00

...this was in Glasgow. Smile

namechange222777 · 16/11/2021 22:30

BurntO · 16/11/2021 23:48

Test at 9am and results x1 at 2pm and x2 at 5pm (3 people tested)

DaisyNGO · 17/11/2021 00:07

Last week ds1 was tested at 8.30am, results back (by email) at 11.20pm that night and a follow up text first thing the next morning. They must have a policy of not texting overnight.

My daughters was 9.30 yesterday and we got the results at 6.30 this morning
MWestie · 17/11/2021 10:57

Can I jump on to ask what the longest is that anyone has waited for their pcr result back?

Coming up to 48 hours here which I know is within guidelines but am getting anxious it's been lost or there's a problem 😬

@WaterBottle123 hope your daughter's results come back soon.

BooseysMom · 17/11/2021 10:59

We're still waiting after 24 hours. Did them 10.
30am yesterday. Last time we got the results at 2am the same day!

Poppins2016 · 17/11/2021 11:01

The last two PCR results I received for DS took 13 - 14 hours, following tests first thing in the morning.

StrawHats · 17/11/2021 11:03

Under 12 hours. Afternoon test. Results around 1-2am.

StrawHats · 17/11/2021 11:06

@MWestie one took between 48-72 hours another never arrived (but actually I think that was an error as we were given a replacement tube that we now think was without bar code sticker)

MWestie · 17/11/2021 11:12

Thanks @StrawHats, I do hope it's not 72 hours, not sure why such variation and the person at the test centre said would be next day.

user1471523870 · 17/11/2021 11:12

I always had them back in the early hours of the following day, no matter at what time I was having the test done (that happened about 8-10 times now between all of us in my household).
However, I took a test two days ago and...nothing yet! I am a bit shocked but I guess they are now overwhelmed? Strange as I took one the day before, that resulted inconclusive, but I got the results back early morning the following day as usual.

MWestie · 17/11/2021 11:29

@user1471523870 what do you mean by "that resulted inconclusive", is it not just positive or negative? Am confused! Can you tell we've not done many of these 😁

Sloth169 · 17/11/2021 11:30

Im on in the Liverpool region and have had our last 2 tests (2 months apart) back in under 4 hours! Both times testing about 10:30am

Forestcantrun · 17/11/2021 11:32

We had an 8 hour last week. Longest was my positive at 25hours

Iggly · 17/11/2021 11:51

It means you’ll need to do it again as they couldn’t read the test. It happened to me so I did another.

Over 72 hours and I rang to chase.
TokyoSushi · 17/11/2021 11:53

1pm test, 9pm result and 6pm test, 7am result

It happened to me already twice! No idea why, but it means they were not able to analyze the sample and I had to re-do it.
Annoying!

MWestie · 17/11/2021 11:54

Thanks @Iggly.
Hoping delay doesn't mean more likely to be positive...
