The BBC has actually published an article on disinformation groups HART, UsforThem (obviously not named Government's links with them as it is the BBC). Wonder why they've timed this now?

@noblegiraffe

Interesting about the Children’s Union is that they joined twitter in 2018. I was “oh, they’ve been around a while then”

But it was an existing twitter account renamed and rebranded to make it look more legit.

Sneaky liars.

oh interesting, how do you know @noblegiraffe?
beentoldcomputersaysno · 17/10/2021 15:24

It's pretty worrying.
I guess they must have lots of accounts on standby. 2018 is pre-pandemic...

This tweet, Olly twitter.com/cardinalpirelli/status/1418548063073968131?s=21 they didn’t delete the tweets from the previous use of the account which looks like it’s some anti vax nerd.

BewareTheLibrarians · 17/10/2021 17:40

Bunch of wankers. (That Twitter account, not you lot Wink)

This is the kind of group that insists covid spike proteins entering via a vaccine will kill/damage children, but covid spike particles entering via, you know, covid itself (as they are anti mask, anti mitigation, pro herd immunity) is no problem, just a small cold, nothing to see here.

Do they even think these things through? Or so they just have such a low opinion of their target group’s intelligence to think they won’t notice these things?

beentoldcomputersaysno · 17/10/2021 17:56

You only need to look at some other threads on coronavirus board to see what some believe (or purport to believe). There do seem to be a few posters that descend as a pack quite close to each other (or did). I always struggle with the ones devoting lots of time to say live with it with no mitigations (which we are doing) - I wonder why they devote so much time to the board fighting for what they've already got or if it's of no interest to them.

I got laughed at for suggesting such a thing. By each of them. One after another 😂

Lol. Irony in motion.

Its scary the amount is disinformation out there and some of it looks legit and convincing.

I think its important to give any like this scrutiny.

True. An awful lot of websites, articles are genuine, but you need to look who is behind them. They don't call themselves "alt right think-tank.com" (Unherd) after all!

Likewise, posters who gamely assert that X figure proves the point Y, but without linking or showing where X figure came from.

Or, of course, posters with dangerous agendas on health matters, but who carefully don't post links or insert a bland "vaccines are important for some people" sop while going on to say "but children are all immune so don't need them"

Getawaywithit · 20/10/2021 07:36

Thr uk is hugely vaccinated and yet case numbers continue to remain high. None of it makes sense

Course it makes sense. The people with it and spreading it at the moment are children who, for the most part, are an unvaccinated population. I work in a through school - baby room through to 6th form. It’s moving through the school via siblings who no longer need to isolate until they get a positive PCR. You don’t need training in rocket science to see what is going on. The Government has engineered this by removing all restrictions, presumably because they believe the illusive ‘herd immunity’ will eventually save lives. That’s what we should be questioning - what are they trying to achieve and why do they think it will work.

mrshoho · 20/10/2021 07:48

Yes exactly @Getawaywithit! Our current situation has been the plan of our government and is no surprise. They chose to facilitate the spread of this virus from September with schools told to remove all mitigations other than windows open. They were late in finally agreeing to vaccinate 12-15 year olds. The horse has bolted on that one! And the boosters are not getting to enough of the people who are 6 months past their second dose. I'm waiting for the announcements blaming the fuck ups on a new variant but it is most definitely the Government's pathetic guidelines to blame.

A million per cent. This government is the worst in my lifetime by a long stretch. I'm sure many of them don't even believe the disinformation groups - they just suit their agenda.
